Trump 2nd term prediction thread

Trump 2nd term prediction thread

So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.

Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.

Because they were fighting him the whole way. Don't you know what they did to him? They impeached him like 20 times, and took him to bogus kangaroo courts like 30 times and convicted him with about 100 felonies (all bogus bs). What did you think that whole fight was all about, just so he can remain president a couple more years or something much bigger like our livelihoods and Trump's grandchildredn's futures were at stake?

So the deep states is mostly everyone except people like you ?

Are you conflicting the word majority with deep state ?

by mrbaseball k

Uhhh? The deep state tried to bankrupt him, jail him, and assasinate him. I'm pretty sure he's not on that team.

So they're incompetent? If so, what are you worried about? Did you ever think all of it was part of a plan? I know you guys love conspiracy theories, so entertain that one, chief.

I have family responsibilites. As soon as I don't I am outta there like a bat outta hell. Literal hell, it's Illinois.

Move your family out with you.

What maga complains mostly about isn’t dating just 3-4 years ago ….
It’s been a process span over a very long time .

They only got SCOTUS a few years ago and it already started dismantling some core tenets of leftism.

Many more have to go but it takes time, and SCOTUS decisions permeate life at all levels in the USA and impede political actions a lot for red states.

This is the first actual rightwing SCOTUS after almost 90 years of either leftist or moderate courts, there is a lot of work to do to recreate freedom in the USA

by Montrealcorp k

That’s the difference between you and me .
I gladly accept tax payment over banning something .

badass

Oh ok, cool, at least you admit your guys lied, that's a start. Would be nice if that recognised that doesn't put you in a very strong position to be accusing others of bad faith.

Not my guys, just among the 2 options people who at least recently tend to align more with my preferences.

Still bad faith if you personally lie to me to make a political though as I am not lying to you.

by the pleasure k

could haev been worse

but tbh thinking about it, Sec of state is the main person behind foreign affairs iirc so its crazy we have had some on the lower experience end. liek someone exactly brand new is a pro but als a con since they have 0 relations

ot maybe I didnt get the job duties right

He is what normal countries call the foreign affairs minister

I don’t get it .
Baham keep saying the U.S. is the most powerful and free country in the world .
You come here and say the U.S. hasn’t much freedom left ?

You guys should talk and come up with a better united narrative .

It wasn't bad faith. It was exactly the point that what is happening now is due to conservatives not listening, or lying, 30 years ago. Sure, what Trump does now won't have any effect till later. But what is happening now is the conservatives' fault already.

Im just loling at Trumpers. its like when "hope and change Obama" made Hillary SoS.

Lol at the isolationist ones, Rubio is an insanely good call for us here in Europe.

Things are getting better by the day.

Did you forget the deep state stole the election in 2020 too ?
I wonder why they let it him win this time ?

I wonder the same thing... dun dun dun

Democrats had a lot of power during Clinton, and a lot of power in many states for many years, they could have decreased emissions a lot when they did through regulations.

They didn't because it was politically toxic because people didn't want to sacrifice their well being too much to avoid vague unsubstantiated risks in the far future.

And they still don't.

But sure it was republicans.

California can ban all fossil fuels statewide tomorrow if it wants to.

They weren't "vague, unsubstantiated" risks. They were very real risks that have already come to fruition. It was the lying nutsacks who muddied the waters that made people think that the risks were vague and unsubstantiated. The same crew who did the same **** with leaded petrol and smoking did it with climate change - people who lie, often very convincingly, for large amounts of money. There is a book about all of it called Merchants of Doubt.

Because the left won even bigger elsewhere.

The left won everywhere in the west, what was considered a leftist dream in 1920 is now rightwing.

There was no public healthcare anywhere 100 years ago.

Fiscal revenue as a % of GSP didn't reach 10% in basically any western country in 1900.

And so on.

The left won everywhere reducing growth rates and generally making life worse than it would otherwise had been (thanks to technological improvement and capitalism, which the left constantly work against) . In the USA it won less so at the end it's still better.

But horrifically worse than it could be if somehow leftism disasters can be reversed at least partially.

by d2_e4 k

that have already come to fruition

OMG what happened!!!????!?!?!??! 😡

Don't worry about it bro, doesn't affect you. Yet.

It isn't even obvious at all that GDP today is lower than it could otherwise have been without the 1 Celsius warming since 1850-1900 so stop pretending currently we are experiencing any damage in aggregate from climate change already.

Smoking should not be a political issue at all and it's incredible to even think the state has any power on the topic but that's different.

Wasn't easy this time. R's were ready for it and had protection in place and the covid rules weren't in place making it harder. Almost "too big to rig" 😀 What happened to Bidens extra 15M votes? Those folks just sit it out this time? Or was it all bullshit?

Is it your position that anything that reduces GDP is bad and anything that increases GDP is good regardless of any other considerations?

I wasn't talking about smoking being a political issue per se, I was more talking about the MO of the people who lie for money to mislead the public about real issues. I edited in above, there is a book about it all called Merchants of Doubt.

The Trump deranged in here are hilarious, suck it up buttercup and get ready for 4 years of Ultra-MAGA Baby!!

We were talking about US and freedom disappeared from there and by a big margin .
So you saying freedom elsewhere around the world is what ?
Almost inexistant ?

Many country are right wing and have lower growth in gdp.

You ever heard about China ?
Having many time exceed 10% gdp per year ?
Are Chinese right wing ?
Wow that’s news for me , communism is a right wing political system …

Too big to rig, lmao. 60-something court cases and nothing. At least the Dems admit they ****ed up the election and own the loss.

It's tea toddler.

No.

Question .
Put another person like mtg, Jordan , Gaetz, etc .
You believe the reaction would be different then trump if they were president ?

Lol one of the author of the books you cite is against nuclear , good sources you got.

It is my position that if you claim something is a disaster for society it has to drastically reduce our quality of life and GDP is the best proxy we have for it yes.

Drastically, otherwise you can't even start describing that as a huge problem.

Like you know, drastic as a lockdown that causes -10% of GDP.
