So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

So your argument is the DOJ should stop investigating and prosecuting crimes for two months because you believe the new incoming administration is so corrupt that they would intervene and stop any such investigation that affects one of their supporters.

No my argument is that DOJ is not independent, and never was.
DOJ can do what it wants to pursue the political agenda of the president, within the limits of the constitution. Courts are what exists to stop excesses.
My point is to stop pretending using the DOJ (and it's subsidiaries) as a political tool and a weapon wasn't the standard since it's creation. The FBI was built to spy upon political adversaries and perceived political threats (violent or otherwise)
Congress knew since the beginning it was basically creating a secret police. They tried to limit it somehow but they failed. Edgar Hoover famously kept private files on any relevant political actor in the nation to blackmail them. That's the DOJ in essence.
I accept what can't be changed, so make it transparent and official. The DoJ is part of the executive, serves at the pleasure of the president, and can use it's powers in any constitutional way the President likes.
If Biden, duly elected president of the USA (till jan 2025) thinks this raid of polymarket is proper use of the DOJ, he can do that, and the ultimate arbiters will be the voters, as always for all political uses of power.

Trump might not end (or refuse to renew) TPS for venezuelans, as he did implement it himself before leaving the presidency, for them (different program name can't remember now, but it had basically the same effects).
A lot of people on the right actually think fleeing from communism does justify special treatment.
And the main reason is, if you flee from communism you... are probably going to vote against it later on in your life. So those people are good additions to the country, and they could even be put on an accelerated path to citizenship, and housing be provided in swing districts of swing states for maximum effect.

I'm pro choice. The church god abortion stance is the dumbest part of the republican platform.
I'm also pro choice in that if you don't want to be injected with a newly created vaccine you shouldn't be effectively forced to.
