Trump 2nd term prediction thread
So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.
A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.
fact is your team tried and lost anyway.
they had most social media censoring right-wing people under executive pressure (illegal, but we didn't manage to prove it well enough in court yet), they tried to jail trump with various different legal cases, they tried to bankrupt him with sham grotesque fines being issued, they called him Hitler, accused him of what at this point, 50 different episodes of sexual harassment/violence?, demonized his VP pick, blatantly misconstrue everything he said ("blo
I am not on a team. The Democrats are terrible at politics. The Republicans are terrible at being decent human beings.
Lol, you're acting like all that was done to Trump. Trump did stuff, others called him out on it, sued him for it, and put him on trial for it. The idea that Trump was somehow unfairly victimised is nonsense, he earned every little bit of what he got and more with his own words and actions, and any pretense to the contrary is just hyper partisan sophistry. You're starting to turn into ****ing Playbig with this tripe.
"unfair" is a morally loaded term. you can think it's fair, other can think it's unfair, waste of time to argue about that.
but the guy above claimed democrats had to give up on norms to try to win at any cost.
my claim is they did (and j listed the norm breaking behaviors I remember, there were certainly others) and failed anyway.
you can claim trying trump in 4 different cases was correct legally, morally, whatever.
still norm breaking.
you can claim giving a lot of space to unproven allegations of sexual misconduct against the opposite candidate by the dozens was reasonable, still norm breaking to conduct such an attempt.
I don't know how you can defend claiming that billionaires are on the side of trump when you are the democratic party but you do you.
nor how you can defend censoring right-wing people for years with threats from the executive toward social media companies to comply.
democrat tried everything, including removing an attempted assassination that went a few millimiters to kill trump from the news cycle as soon as they could, including trying to claim he wasn't even hit, including nominating a candidate without a primary.
a lot of norm breaking, didn't work.

Nonsense. Trump is worse than anyone we've ever had, and it is not close. The norm that was broken was that the GOP went full dipshit and nominated a monster. He's been a white collar criminal his entire life, and done very well for himself as a result. Bush, Clinton, Obama, Reagan, Ford, Carter, whoever.....they got nothing on Trump's criminality. Just stop.
I did not say that I am happy that they died. I said I profited from their death. And I'll be happy to do it again if they want to be morons.
I'd much rather these morons didn't listen to the garbage media that you gobble up and instead got vaccinated like a rational person. But they didn't, and so they died and I made money. That is not on me, it's on you and your ignorance campaign. People died because of your bullshit. Own it.

I've made this analogy before I'm sure, but if morons want to jump off the Empire State Building in droves because some dipshit on Twitter or some orange cretin they elected president told them they can fly, you can bet your ass someone's going to be coining it in from cleaning the sidewalk.

"this norm breaking was justified by exceptional circumstances" isn't a denial that... norm breaking happened.
you don't have to justify norm breaking to me. I think doing absolutely everything that is technically legal to win is a moral imperative.
Change the written, objective, enforceable rules if that includes stuff you dislike, but until that, everything that goes, goes.
what you have to accept is that democrats tried. as hard as they could. if they didn't do even more is because they thought it wouldn't have been advantageous for them.
don't fear for a second they have ANY moral limit to what they are willing to do to win. they don't. which is ok with me, and expected from participants.
but they tried and lost anyway.
solution is obvious, just move a bit to the right and beat republicans.
but I suppose that insisting illegals are massively beneficial for society in unlimited numbers, and breast removal for 14y healthy girls (and federal inmates) is a human right, was more important than beating Trump.
i didn't know the FDA made sunshine illegal.
but ofc the FDA should simply have no power to ban any substance, and keep having a purely advisory role.
The "green new deal" plan is to tear down buildings and rebuild them without any windows.
They also wanna ban red meat totally (because cows farting causes climate change. I'm not making this up, research it).
If anyone can't understand this at all, I'll make it really simple, extremely easy to follow and understand so read the following very slowly.
Close your eyes for 15 seconds while thinking about your life a year before covid. Then open them up and read the spoiler while in a very deep state of relaxation (some people might need more time to get into this state)...
That's totally wild bro, more people should be talking about it. Can we get back to the space lasers though? I feel that's far more important right now.

You're right. Norm breaking did indeed happen. Why? Because Trump is a piece of **** the likes of which we've never seen. To do nothing would have been absurd. Everyone knows that, it's just that most don't care. That's why he got elected twice and skirted conviction after his impeachment. And why America is finished.

The voices in your head don’t count as friends.
YouÂ’re right that there is an aspect of body positivity that has taken it to absurd lengths like claiming people who are clearly obese are healthy. ItÂ’s good that overweight people arenÂ’t shamed and are allowed to feel good about themselves as they are but at the same time they should obviously be encouraged to lose weight.
I donÂ’t personally believe in free will and yes I do think the reason IÂ’m not overweight is because I have the right combination of traits both innate and learned in my upbringing. Overweight people werenÂ’t that lucky.
First step for the overweight: absolute and complete acceptance.
The point here is to get them to identify with the good. No judgment yet. Visualize the good and embody the feeling.
Next step: absolute forgiveness + free will
The Christian story is helpful here, but this is where you need to add in responsibility and judgment — “Being fit is good. Being overweight is not.”
While free will is not ultimately true, it is subjectively true and necessary.
There will be an impulse to retreat back to step one, but it must be understood that acceptance is absolute so to continue to seek validation means they haven’t fully received absolute acceptance. “Have you received absolute acceptance or not?”
Final step: Guilt, revenge, and slavery
In step two, they are able to face judgment because they are absolutely forgiven, and the judge finds them innocent. In this final step, the aim is to be found guilty.
To assist this aim, free will is exchanged for slavery. God exists and everything is his will. When the overweight back slide, it’ God’s fault. He doesn’t want you to be fit and reach the good. The desire for revenge emerges.
The overweight then will stand in front of the judge, seek to be found guilty, and receive punishment each time they back slide as a judgment against God. No shame involved since it’s not their fault.
This method works in 100% of cases 100% of the time.

Correct. The immediate danger is Trump. All else can be dealt with later.
I am well aware of green activists attempts to destroy human life as we know it and of their dangerousness.
I am very aware of the war on red meat among other things, and of the insanity of horrendous "energy efficient" buildings (I live in the EU and here you can't build anymore if it isn't near zero emissions) that cost more than double per square meter to build than previous ones (you never make up for it with lower utility bills).
I am also aware of the very unconstitutional censorship on social media operated under government threats.
fact it all of the above has nothing to do with the FDA

You hyperbolic much?
This nonsensical talking point about the government conspiring w/ SM companies to censor the hunter biden laptop story needs to stop. I know facts are a burden, but this was debunked years ago. There's been plenty of proof via leaked emails and sworn testimony, that this wasn't the case.
I've been trying to think of how to reach Trump supporters and get them to understand what's currently going on in American politics and throughout the world for some time. Because putting aside the culture war BS, the core economic troubles of the working class should theoretically reach across party lines. It's a key reason we've had such a spike in populism.
I'd assume most Americans are exhausted of this division. I mean, why would you want to be in conflict with your neighbor, your family me
Obviously a lot of time went into this post and it's likely to just get drowned out in this thread. You might want to make this the OP of a new thread.
As I have stated, we put up with your own opinions all the time on every subject imaginable. While most of them are trash, I support your right to voice your opinion here.
I am, and will continue to be, more critical of you telling us what other people think, believe and/or their motivations when.you have absolutely no connection whatsoever to that group of people. Perhaps the language barrier doesn’t allow you to comprehend the distinction.

not sure how many times I have to tell you I have Americans in my family

I was much more referring to government conspiring to censor talk about COVID that didn't follow Biden admin definition of "truth".
laptop story got censored when trump was president
