Trump 2nd term prediction thread
So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.
Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.
A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.
I'm talking about the democratic process of how we elect presidential candidates to be placed on the ballot to run for office.
Do you mean how political parties that qualify (hint - there are only a few) can put their chosen nominee on all the state ballots? And how the party can pick this nominee however they see fit?
That is pretty much on par for our resident Trumpers:
Lozen repeats a lie because he is too dumb to actually know the process followed.
Playbig adds his conspiracy wingnut take.
Blowie Joey tries and fails to troll with it.
Rinse and repeat and you have a political forum.
The rest of your post is almost as stupid as this part, of course, but this part is just a blatant lie.
Kamala did not win a primary Gorg.
if I were to go in on any part of his post it would be this
I'm not so sure we can say that democracy isn't at risk.
its a kinda weird thing to say considering the rest of his post which just spells out exactly why US liberal democracy is a joke and the genocide machine can just run itself. we just watched 5 years of a senile idiot be the figurehead for a machine that caused 100s of thousands of deaths (if not millions and what will certainly eventually be millions) in Ukraine and Palestine.
Is the view in thread that once Dems realized Biden was cooked (debate) (and lol at it not being earlier), they made the best decisions to win the election?
Basically they were in an impossible position.
Or run it back, perhaps they have a competitive primary, the powers that be have the delegates appoint someone else?
Yes, the DNC primary process includes the delegates voting for Harris. Obviously Biden was running and she wasn't during the main primary election, but after he dropped out, the delegates had already been awarded to Biden and had to vote for someone else. They used surveys and questionnaires to determine who their constituents wanted them to vote for, which served as another form of primary, and they followed through on that. This isn't even complicated. You don't have to like it, but that's the
When was the last time people went out to vote in a caucuses or primary and didn't know who they were voting for?
"we" is the United States. I'm not a party kinda guy.

That's ok. I didn't expect you to understand the point at all, so I'm not even slightly disappointed that you understood exactly zero.

Well you were discussing how the Democratic Party elects their presidential candidate, not the United States. Those are not the same thing. You seem very confused about that. You realize the Democratic Party and the United States are different, right?

I was speaking specifically about camela being installed as a candidate a few months before the election. I also said "we" when I was referring to how the United States has always selected their presidential candidate, which is through a process that begins with a caucus, a primary, and a nomination at a convention.
If you have any further questions don't hesitate, I'm here to help if needed.

no I understand your points. they are just the epitome of hypocrisy. and thus far I have not tired of watching Dems twist themselves in knots to pretend they dont support the exact same things that Trumpers support.

No, you didn't. If you think anything about what I said was even slightly hypocritical, you have no idea what the conversation is even about.

Yes, you were speaking about the Democratic Party's actions when you said "we." The United States had nothing to do with who the Democratic Party selected as their candidate.
Oh I have plenty of questions for you, but they would only be asked in order for me to laugh at your answers.

Bolded is egregiously false. Read a book.

Absolutely, without even considering the obvious that "The United States" does not select either the Republican Party candidate nor the Democratic Party candidate. The parties themselves do. It's like trying to argue that "The United States" shouldn't charge so much for their Amazon Prime memberships. It's Amazon, doofus, not the country.

But X needs to be censored.
Tell your mouthpieces that it's X, doofus, not the country.
I have no idea what you are even talking about. I doubt you do either.

ok glad we can agree that USA liberal Democracy is a joke
