Trump 2nd term prediction thread

Trump 2nd term prediction thread

So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.

Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.

Yes the public protests about stuff all the time. Why can't Elon do it? Is it ok for Oprah, Whoopi, Clooney, DeNiro, and Swift to do it?

The public isn’t what Elon is right ?

Interesting that lucia and playbig use the same rethoric more and more often to the point to wonder which one is the alt.
New sheriff in town

Or they just regurgitating some one liner they read from their same sources?

Luciom's "new sheriff in town" supports the new German Nazi party, surprise, surprise.

Democrats should step back and let the
GOP follow through on its Muskian fantasies.
If Republicans want a billionaire oligarch to lead them, let them.

allowing Republicans to install Musk as speaker would underscore
their inability to govern while highlighting the absurdity of their priorities.

There is no scenario in which Musk could effectively run the House.

When a decent expression is used, it gets repeated by people who agree with it.

Given we are talking about people who i personally think are acting as evilly as possible, even if not technically in a criminal way , the sheriff metaphor is proper and good.

It is also a common idiomatic expression not something made up for the occasion out of nothing like the left does everytime it attempts to invent words or meaning of words.

But ofc if a good idiomatic expression gets track to describe a situation it's "regurgitating" if you use it, if it doesn't come from the left.

Jalfrezi calls any party who is at least vaguely actual right "nazi", how surprising. AfD is the only party right of center in Germany so it's the best one available, with all his faults (which aren't "nazi" faults, rather the fact that it is not enough rightwing on many topics) as it's always the case when there is too much leftism (which is what is making europe bleed and suffer these days).

Pretty amazing you don't see the irony in this.

Don't worry, Musk won't end up being the Speaker. He's too valuable for that, we're gonna need him more like a freelancer, working with all dept.'s, agencies and leaders in our gov't.

The public isn’t what Elon is right ?

Yes, Elon was 100% right !

Did you happen to see all the things they were trying to sneak into the original bill? Stuff about an upcoming pandemic, mask mandate laws, a raise for everyone in congress and other "equity" programs where they send money into and it goes into a black hole. Elon knows how corrupt our current system is, trying to sneak this bill in right before Christmas while no one has enough time to read it to see what's actually in it (not that anyone in congress really cares to begin with) and with the threat of a gov't shutdown.

This current speaker has no back bone, his true DS RINO colors were just shown. This is how people with salaries of 200K/yr end up with net worths of hundreds of millions of dollars with 3 or 4 50MM homes on beaches.

It is however exciting to finally see smart people like Elon and Trump running our country instead of all the puppets that were easily manipulated and controlled.

It's also great to weed out all the RINO's before Trump "officially" takes office. Speaker Johnson's gonna be the first one to go.

The mouse traps have been set.

I see you can think there is irony, because i call a lot of things marxist.

Fact is what i call marxist is groups of people who do agree with at least some core tenet of marxism. For example the concept that capital can "exploit" workers (while for non-marxists, no exploitation can exist in voluntary exchanges definitionally).

The fact itself of considering inequality "inherently bad" is marxist. For non marxist, there is nothing inherently bad in the unequal distribution of income or wealth among the population.

And actually for rightwing people it is a moral POSITIVE that some people have more than others.

There was barely any attempt morally to ever "fix inequality" as if it was inherently bad in world history before marxism. There has always been charity around, to help some people in horrible conditions, but never with the idea that the optimal outcome for society was to everyone to be almost the same as everyone else with regards to resource access. Never in history anywhere after agriculture, until marxism. So it is marxist to have that as a societal goal.

Now for the abuse of the nazi label instead, people like jalfrezi and many others consider "nazism" any attempt to deny all ethnic groups are absolutely identical and all countries should be "multicultural" as a moral goal.

But for most of world history it was absolutely normal moral and proper for any human being member of a group, to consider his own group better than all other groups definitionally. So it is NOT nazism to beleive what the vast majority of human beings believed for the vast majority of human history.

What is nazism? the idea that it's proper and good to GENOCIDE all those other human groups.

So any use of the nazi label REQUIRES attempts, at least on paper, to genocide all other groups, otherwise it is not nazism not pseudo-nazism not nazi-affiliated in any way. A desire to genocide groups different from your own is what is required for anyone to be nazi-like. Absent that, the use of the nazi label is monstrous, and it destroys its meaning.

While for marxist, what is required is a moral sense that equality is inherently morally positive and that using violence (this includes state violence) to achieve equality is moral. And that is a common idea on the left currently.

Yes, people were definitely forced to take it if they wanted to keep their jobs (and feed their families) or stay in the military. You can't get any closer than putting a gun to someone's head then that.

Whenever I hear something like this I'm always reminded of the line from DeNiro in Heat where he says "never get attached to something that you can't leave in 30 seconds flat when you feel the heat coming". While not a career criminal I've always tried to live my life like this.

On that note:

4 years of BIDEN'S AMERICA and WOKE liberals have RUINED our country! They say the stars on our flag represent EVERY PRONOUN and GENDER! Show you are a TRUE RED-BLOODED PATRIOT by posting our new RED WHITE AND BLUE FLAG !! #MAGAFOREVER

by pocket_zeros k

It's a good attempt by democrats to trigger Trump, and if they manage to do so and make him hostile to the best thing that happened to the right since Reagan (Musk going in politics to help the right) it will be a big blow.

Sorry but i can't agree given that having children is what gives meaning to life for me

Anyone see the new Ronny Chieng stand up special on Netflix - Love to hate it?

22 mins in, he pretty much nails MAGA and the issues facing America. Starts w/ the youtube algorithm that sucks young men in, and explains, in a pretty clever way, why people have been duped by these incoming grifters.

If you haven't seen it, it's worth the watch.

yikes. everything about her gives Nazi vibes. cant even imagine the insanity of people right of her.

The AfD supports mass deportation of non-ethnic Germans — including German citizens — and pro-Nazi anti-Semitic policies and propaganda, including calling the Holocaust a “myth.”

Luciom calls this vaguely right wing.

Luciom doesn’t understand diversity.
