Also, you don't have to keep the 2.5x multiplier of cash on hand the whole time you're renting an apartment. You just have to show when you sign the lease.

Also, he can keep most of his cash in his portfolio doing work and cash out some only if he needs it from a downswing. Refusing to cash out ever until retirement is wasting up to 10k cash sitting in a bank account.
