He wins the PPC and is 2nd on the PGT leaderboard this year. He obviously isn't a total fish dead money. He may be down because of all the $100K+ buyin events he didn't cash in.

He brings traffic to GG. That is what he is paid for. These days no one is going to pay much as a sponsored pro just for being a really top player. I know most of the people here play as well as him and don't have a big contract.

Yes bringing in the marks to be fleeced is currently a rarer skill than the ability to fleece them.

Yeah, well if you are really good at it like Negreanu. I am sure no one make half what he makes in endorsements and it is pretty much impossible to make anywhere near that playing. So I can see why people are jealous.

His videos on his deep runs are decent. However, those vlogs are insufferable. Sometimes just show hands allin or whatever, and him walking around or whatever. Probably geared towards the fish they want to lure in.

This makes even less sense to me. He is bringing in the sheep and filling the low dollar tables with bad players with easy money for the low dollar regs to win. He is not just bringing in the sheep to fleece at his own big game table.

There are some valuable fish with money who play mid or high stakes. GG doesn't care about helping regs. GG wants fish brought in to pay rake. The fish also bring the regulars, which builds the games.

I don't see what his own big game table has to do with it. It is obvious he is making most of his money from GG rather than playing. He doesn't even seem to play that much these days.

He doesn't have to win money off of the people he's bringing in. He just has to bring in lots of them to justify his endorsement money.

Yeah, he must bring in a lot of fish for GG to justify the millions they pay him. It isn't like the old days with all that Full Tilt deposit money to pay for sponsorships.

As far as I can see, he hasn't played much in 20 years. Maybe he gets invites to private games like Hellmuth. That is possible, as he is a celebrity and has good interpersonal skills. He plays lots of WSOP events, but not that much else. I don't think he plays much public cash games. Maybe he plays a lot of online tournaments. He probably hasn't needed to with all the $s from sponsorships.

There is no reason he should every play public cash games again. If he wants to play cash he has access to way better games than any of us could ever get into.

Yeah, like Hellmuth, he just plays a few tournaments a year, mostly high profile like the WSOP. It is quite possible that Negreanu plays a lot of private cash games also. He has the personality for it, and is a little of a hustler anyway.

It would seem like he gets some of his buy-ins sponsored. I'm pretty sure he sold action to his fans with a huge mark-up at some point.

People just want to talk bad about him. Whether he is a whale wasting his sponsorship money or bringing fish to the GG tables for regs, they don't care.

He has some good achievements just this year. He may be down for the year from playing $100K+ tournaments, sometimes for 2 bullets. That could be due to variance or that he is -EV at those stakes.

He is obviously still a strong tournament player. He might have better results without the sponsorship, so he would be more careful with buyin money and get experience playing more.

It is obvious his main job is being a celebrity. He makes most of his money from GG and likely from private games and appearance fees.

It is mostly from his personality. Most poker players are experts and showing no emotion and reaction to anything, but that doesn't make for entertaining videos, etc.

We don't know what action he sells privately. Even with his income and assets, he may sell action in those super high rollers and it is possible he sells it at a discount, taking a loss to build his marketing and skills. Who wants to lose a million of his own money in a week.

Daniel is right with one thing. He hasnt won much in these super high rollers besides this big one a few years ago. He is only winning the smaller tournaments. The question is why?? Ok its not like he won much at the wsop at all in recent years.....
But its kinda funny how he doesnt promote his numbers anymore now that they could hurt his brand.

Out-of-touch "I got mine" Gen X male with no college degree is checking almost every Trumper box.

I seem to recall him touting liberal beliefs years ago, but he also has a history of being suggestible (Choice Center, life coach). I'm not sure Arieh is a good influence and Twitter is a stew of propaganda. Nobody should be using that platform in 2025. I've always found Negreanu's public persona more sympathetic than loathsome, but stanning for Elon and/or Trump is a yikes. It's not uncommon in the poker ecosystem though.

Daniel was a huge "Im with Her" deranged anti trumper 8 years ago. But now hes become a deranged trumper instead? Examples of recent tweets? I find that hard to believe although people who go over the top in any direction ideologically tend to actually not care much about the issues, but more about being part of something bigger so they are susceptible to changes in opinion that from the outside look strange. The same thing you see from people who go from being deep into criminal gangs and illegal activities, drugs etc, to then suddenly becoming extremely religious.
