General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread
OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of NBC)comedies on tv yet no threads.
Just an observation.
Finished Squid Game 2
It went where one would assume it would go. They’ve got these beautiful sets built and they used them.
Every time they did a “vote” was excruciatingly long. We didn’t need to see every single vote.
The last episode nearly jumped the shark but they at least bought back some credulity with the end of season reveal.
All in all, it’s a good tease for Squid Game 3. Can’t wait
Last 2 episodes of Landman were very fun
American Primeval on Netflix. 7 episode Western directed by Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights) and written/created by the guy who wrote the Revenant. Stars Taylor Kitsch (Riggins from Friday Night Lights) and Betty Gilpin from GLOW. It’s a journey tale through mid 19th century Utah - where it’s Mormons vs US Army vs Native tribes. A bunch of recognizable faces; good action and plot. I like Westerns and liked this. Not as good as Godless but still good.
Not great but I thought it was pretty good and a quick watch
New season of SAS:Rogue Heroes is out.
Heard that Roadkill was canceled. I are sad. Always enjoyed the foolishness.
SAS looks over the top silly from that preview, are they at least self aware that they're taking the comic book approach or is it trying to be serious like this is how the army actually operates and stuff and hand waving away all the nonsense "they are just that good"?
ie is it more ant man or more bee keeper?
Im enjoying S2 of Squid Game, but it does feel tacked on after a great S1. Hopefully it ends with S3 this summer, but ofcourse it wont because money

S1 was a bit cheeky in a sort of a Guy Ritchie tone maybe. It does settle into a fairly standard historical drama but still has some flashes of silliness. I remember liking it quite a bit though tbf I dn't really recall all the specifics
Just rewatched S01. Does start off a bit like that, then gets more gritty/darker. Very fun show.
It's made by the guy who created Peaky Blinders and I can definitely see similarities in the style despite the very different setting.
