yeah year is such a huge help because it eliminates 90% of songs so you can focus better when getting less info on levels 1&2

well generally knowing if it's 60s/70s vs 80s vs 90s vs 00s vs last 10 years is super helpful to narrow down what kinds of songs you are considering

Feels like I'm missing out by not making random guesses at every level if there isn't a penalty for doing so.

The penalty is the same as making a wrong guess in Wordle.

It automatically takes you to the next level. Guess wrong 6 times and you lose for the day, and lose a streak if you have one.

Got it in 1. Mostly because it was played non-stop on the jukebox at the pool hall when it came out.
