Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
I doubt MAGA cares much about Gaza one way or the other.

It’s also hard to appeal to the anti-deep state while accepting tribute from tech billionaires and appointing members of the 1% of the 1% to your cabinet.

It’s a little funny to think that Gaza is moving the needle for anyone in MAGA. Some people really need to step outside of their tiktok/Twitter hole.

A large portion of Israelis are secular, including Netanyahu afaik. I think chalking it up to religion is pretty lazy.

Would be curious what you think the motivation is for celebrating an infant's murder like that is if not religious extremism. They're just raging lunatics? Personally I put them in the westborough Baptist/Taliban basket. What do you think? MS-13 basket?

core MAGA is non-interventionist, they don't care much about gaza or any other place but they are adamantly against the USA paying anything for any other country conflict

This thread, for example, is full of secular cheering for the genocide.

right so is Israeli twitter, tiktok, and Telegram. its the racism and supremacy. and the racism is necessary to uphold the system where one group benefits at the expense of another.

by Luciom k

core MAGA is non-interventionist

lolz, they're openly calling for seizing Greenland, Canada, and the Panama Canal and calling for armed conflict with Mexico.

There is no genocide ongoing , it's full of secular cheering pro Israel as it should.

by Trolly McTrollson k

lolz, they're openly calling for seizing Greenland, Canada, and the Panama Canal and calling for armed conflict with Mexico.

That's empire building which should (in their minds) benefit americans, what they oppose is spending american resources without having a direct benefit for americans. I thought that was the meaning of being "interventionist". They oppose the USA "policing" the world, they don't care about it.

They oppose defending Taiwan from China, bases in Japan, Germany, Italy, sending any money to Ukraine or Israel, in general all forms of "help to allies" or "strategic deployment to keep the peace" and so on

I seem to recall a certain Joseph P. Kennedy Sr, US Ambassador to the Court of St James, taking a similar view in 1940, against what he knew to be the view of the Roosevelt administration. He thought history would vindicate him. It didn't.

by Luciom k

There is no genocide ongoing

People far more knowledgeable on the subject than you disagree.

by Dunyain k

Trump so far hasn't really shown much of an inclination to pander to the batshit crazy Owen's wing of the party. If anything, embarrassment of associating with people like Brian James and Playbig will push everyone else the other way.

It is one thing to believe in free markets and 2 genders. But another when you are going full anti-vax, the world is 6,000 years old, there is no climate change happening, and abortion should be illegal in all cases.

by Pompeous k

It's a decent % of the coalition and Trump definitely throws them a bone every now and then. At the very least, they are a check on him going to Newsmax levels of pro-Israeli zealotry.

Hard to say if that is having any influence on his decision to stop the genocide.

Whether true or not imagine being criticised for having some influence on a decision to stop a genocide. What sort of ghoul would do that?

remember like yesterday when Bibi was going to hold up the deal and put off the Israeli vote until Sunday? well, Donny wasnt having that and lo and behold they voted today and signed the deal.

Interestingly none of the 10 Asian foreign nationals Hamas is still holding are set to be released in the first phase.

Presumably they are all dead. On top of the 50+ foreign nationals murdered on 10/7, on top of all the ones being held by Yemen.

Real humanitarians these Islamists are.

oh i agree, just saying what they think.

by jalfrezi k

I am not sure what the Geneva convention says about people faking being journalists through shell institutions that aren't actually real media, but if you think setting up a fake media company under the Hamas mantel gives you a free pass everywhere, you should rethink it.

and you should stop going around claiming journalists are killed when it's invariably people pretending to be journalists doing Hamas related stuff.

how many actual journalists (people who published on real media companies from actual real countries, established ones, people from other pro Israel countries) have been killed? because any Palestinian can become a "journalist" making video with his UNRWA paid cellphone for a "media company" controlled by Hamas (or Qatar).

a "journalist" (a random person pretending to report from Gaza taking money from an American NGO to do so) was keeping hostages in his house. that's what "journalists" are in Gaza

BJ let's do this: let's check in 2 months.

if the USA are still giving Israel intelligence and weapons to keep killing Hamas in Gaza , I am right and you will come to see the light because if Trump does it then it's the right thing (for you).

if the USA aren't giving Israel weapons and intelligence by mid March I will agree that you were right and Trump actually wanted Israel to stop killing terrorists inimical to the west (Hamas) because Palestinian civilians were suffering too much.

Deal?

by Victor k

remember like yesterday when Bibi was going to hold up the deal and put off the Israeli vote until Sunday? well, Donny wasnt having that and lo and behold they voted today and signed the deal.

I give them 36 hours after they get the hostages to go back to kill Hamas people.

that's because there is trump inauguration, otherwise it would be 12 hours.

right its a shame that Israel didnt accept the hostages for nothing on Oct 9th and then subsequently killed them with bombings or executions.

On top of the 50+ foreign nationals

how many of those were IDF soldiers?

yes jal, in your list it's basically all Hamas operatives lol.

Al aqsa radio jfc omfg, that's an OFFICIAL HAMAS OPERATION. as such everyone connected to it in every capacity actually becomes a fair target to be killed (like everyone else working for, with, or to facilitate, Hamas).

you see actual real normal journalists in the list like the french presse ones injured? in your list, injured in an attack that killed a terrorist (and as such, always justified).

what's your idea, that an area becomes "no-go" for military operations if a journalist is there? so everyone who wants safe harbor just goes to a Cafe with a journalist in, and he becomes untouchable?

can you stop pretending?

a suggestion to journalists: don't go nearby Hamas people, they are all fair targets.

of you aren't sure if someone isn't Hamas, don't stay near him.

More lies. If you have a better source than wiki put it here or stfu.

In Ocotber 2023 alone when the IDF went mad with rage

A 29 October report by Reporters Without Borders (RSF) said that Israel had targeted journalists who were clearly identifiable as press, in two 13 October missile strikes that killed a reporter and injured four.[174] On 31 October, RSF said that 34 journalists had been killed to date in the conflict, including 12 "in connection with their work", ten of whom were killed in Israel's attack on Gaza; they described the first two weeks of the conflict as the deadliest start of a war of the 21st century for journalists.[175] On 7 November, an Israeli airstrike killed journalist Mohammad Abu Hasira and 42 of his family members.[176] On 23 November, photojournalist Mohammad Moin Ayyash and his family were killed by an Israeli airstrike

Fascists will always creepily deny the deaths other fascists have caused I guess, probably in the hope that one day it will be their turn to kill populations.

it's in your source itself man. check what those media organizations are. Al aqsa is the official Hamas radio lol. they all deserve to be killed as all Hamas operatives do (it's a terrorist organization, every single member should be killed for the good of humanity, that's what terrorist organization means legally).
