2024 has ended, and it's time to showcase some of the most interesting content from 2+2 over the past year

High Stakes Threads

*** October 2024 High Stakes Thread ***
*** November 2024 High Stakes Thread ***

According to many users, the October and November “High Stakes Thread” series were some of the most epic threads of all time from this category.

What drew the most attention was the HU battle between berri sweat and Sanita55.

The latest word from Berri is that he might face some trouble putting enough money on the table if a $500 deposit cap actually hits Sweden::

by BERRI SWEET

We both agreed to play until death.

(Or until swedish deposit regulations kill me)

Bondurant (a.k.a. Grazvydas Kontautas) showed off his graphs with a seven-figure profit, which ChicagoJoey called achievements deserving of the hall of fame

if you mean EEE27, yes he can come play 3 handed with us and we can keep it going for a while.

I don’t know where your hate comes from, but I’d like to remind you that over the years, it was me who tried to get you to play a 3-4 handed challenge match, even offering you few bb/100 handicap. You declined every time. And what comes to Veni, think he was ready too. Impressive resul

After that, the guys really decided to sort out who offered what and who refused what. 😀
It even reached the point where Grazvydas proposed a boxing match with EEE27. 😀

Fins are okey. All I am saying is that it would come back full circle to EEE27 telling how good he is at live tables and that he is better. So it's fair for me to call it out.Him sending a screen shot of me refusing to play 3 handed with Veni

Thread: GGPoker, Elky and Fedor: HS Regs' Perspective LINK

The main spotlight is on the GGPoker room and two well-known high-stakes regs: Elky and Fedor.

It all started when GGPoker decided to increase the rake and make high-stakes games private. In other words, if you want to play above 10/20, you need an invitation from a host.

Attempting to maximize profit while totally ignoring the regs. The room’s management refuses to believe that reg battles are possible with low rake. Well, it’s exactly the kind of move you’d expect from GGPoker.

The surprise, however, was that two respected, well-known high-stakes players would choose personal profit over siding with the poker community. That, at least, is how high-stakes player and coach PlasticElephant sees it.

What happened right after the introduction of VIP tables is illustrated well by this post:

by Highstakeshero

High stakes dead, this is the lobby on a weekend. Only Fedor and Elky sitting and no recs or games active. Nice of them to look out purely for themselves rather than the rights of their fellow players

Here, scubaste3ve15 gave quite a colorful take on Fedor:

by Anonimi

Truly disgraceful greedy behavior from Fedor. The guy has so much money and still does this. Interesting to see how low people can really go for money. On a related note, limitless will have access to these games for sure so let's see.

So Fedor Holz never reg battles. Then gg kicks out all the regs and now hes the first guy open sitting. What a bitch move. At least wait a few days

Apparently, these new private high-stakes games are quite profitable for Misha innerpshy 1, who has already won over 300k in a short time:

ChicagoGPT ass response

This was user Rahm93’s reply to a post by the well-known YouTuber ChicagoJoey, where Joey tried to explain why he supports GGPoker’s decision to make all high-stakes games invite-only.

Personally, I can add that the post by ChicagoJoey really was AI-generated, 100% sure, and to be honest, I didn’t completely get what he was talking about 😀)
However, I did understand his other post, where he explained in plain language that he has nothing to do with GG and does not support their policy of raising the PLO rake.

Agree Joey is a good guy and has done a lot for the poker community. He built his podcast and deserves to monetise it. I believe he has a genuinely more nuanced view on the GG situation. I hope he changes his mind and finds another sponsor, but I respect the decision.

I'm not sponsored by GG - they've been offering it to me since they launched the site and I've turned them down.

by sauce123

It's important to understand the comparison between stakes isn't apples to apples as midstakes is played mostly zoom and high stakes mostly 6h. I haven't played in awhile so take this with a grain of salt.At high stakes it's typically one weak player and 5 great players. That's a ratio of 1:5. The weak player is typically losing 10-15 bb/100 and the regs are usually making 2-3

Hello Max,

I cannot watch this thread in "old 2+2 style" like i do with (most) other threads, how can i fix this?

Also, on this new 2+2 style I seem to not be able to subscribe to any thread.

If Max or Mod knows solution please post here or PM me

By posting in a thread, it should have automatically subscribed you to the thread. The 'Followed Threads' link is located at the top left below the 2+2 logo.

This thread is not meant for the old forum. You may have noticed that the formatting in this thread is different—headings are applied. Also, I can reply to your post, which will create a child post.
