I'd guess each team gets a bye either before or after the game and having one in September doesn't make much sense.

Apparently he was only picked after Herbert, Nix, and Stroud all said no after Allen and Lamar turned it down.

Not sure if Tua or Rodgers were asked.

And if the Fifth Alternate is unable to serve and fulfill the duties of Miss America ...

Almost double the amount of flight time for the Philly players. Would've made way more sense if it was Rams v Chargers, or any 2 NFCW teams against each other.

Almost double?

It’s 5 hours from east to west coast of US and between 14 and 15 hours from LA to east coast of Australia

Eagles vs Rams next year is being played in Australia woooooo

Guessing that means I’ll have to attend

I was just looking at Expedia, but realize now it includes layover time.

I wonder what time the Aussie game will be in USA#1.

Live from Australia, Eagles/Rams kicking off at 2 am eastern!

even in the Pro Bowl, Darnold is seeing ghosts.

They can easily make it the Sunday night game. That's Monday afternoon for them, but I don't think the NFL cares.

Depending on what time of the season it is, the Sunday night game starts at either 10.15 (early season) or 12.15 (late season) in Australia

It’s a little meh that they’re playing the game in Melbourne at the MCG. It’s a huge stadium (100k ish capacity) but it’s a cricket/AFL field, which means it’s oval and thus not great for watching games played on rectangular pitches. You’re just a long way from the action

You can buy me a beer. Wait, I don't think I said that right.

Reek for Myles Garret one time, please.

by newguyhere m

Reek + a first + a third for Myles Garret one time, please.

It will be interesting to see how much a good team would pay for Garrett. Given he’s also going to want a uuuuuge extension too

The Commanders should go after him.

CIN beat writer i follow has a cool mock off-season "choose your own adventure" exercise (this is his fifth year doing it)

my attempt at playing the FO for CIN's upcoming off-season

ligastar you’re the man.

ligastar you’re the man.

He will be if he can sign Tee Higgins for $23m per and Bobby Wagner for $5m

Albeit if Tee does sign an extension the cap hit would probably be less than that in yr 1, even if the ave salary was higher

(just quietly....11 straight all pro selections for Bobby Wagner!)

why would it be difficult to sign Wagner for one year @ $5mm?

here's his recent deal w WFT

and now he looks ahead to his age 35 season

regarding Tee, exactly. from the author of the exercise:

We’ve adjusted free-agent prices to be about 20 percent lower than the average annual value projects for each player. This is not because we think the market will be down. This represents that the first-year cap hit on most contracts is usually lower for all deals and was the case on nearly all multi-year free agents the Bengals signed in recent years.

His total cash for 2024 ended up at $7m and I think for Wagner to leave the Commanders after another All Pro season he will need a lot more than that.

My guess is he gets a raise from the Commanders but that it would take more again for him to leave them after this year
