Looks like his early years were spent on SubPop. He's fairly prolific so its difficult to wade thru all his stuff, but I like when he's in his sparse folky mode and he's touring a 15 year old album of that style so I thought I'd leave the house for that.

Yeah, he turned into someone very different than the guy I played with and thought I knew. Apparently he started the big time shenanigans not too long after I left the DC area in 2009-10. But if this article is accurate he was building up to it before that.

My Philly ML +Over 50 ended up not being much of a sweat.

Should have bet my whole bankroll (LOL ~$350). Completely bricked all (both!) football pools. Didn't really get a good game, either.

squid, pitbosses love bro time with me now when they see the tickets piled up they come over and ask me what i got and I'll be like "they always play well when they wear the alternate jerseys" or some other stupid crap you hear idiots say all the time and they absolutely lap it up

today a dealer paid 3:2 on split blackjacks and was confused by the soft function of an ace and paid out a number of hard 19s and 18s as if she had busted and in order to go along with it i just watched the basketball game intently pretending not to notice the mistake

she also paid herself 4:1 on a $1 dealer action tip when i had blackjack lol, good for her 😀

i managed to rathole over 1300 without anyone noticing (i think) and even if they do i can say it's "my stop loss as i won't bet it if not on the table"

was a glorious evening all in all

rr - are you just doing standard card counting or are you implimenting a more intricate method?

i'm doing the most simple hi/low program asquid recc'd i practice and that's hard enough for a smooth brained degen such as myself

i've learned basic strategy in and out

i've learned and keep forgetting the deviations you make to that when the count is at extreme spots (rarely happens so low priority + forgetting and i go to casino to sportsbet & play poker and usually only do bj when i have 40 min to kill etc)

i still forget all 3 above occasionally so mostly in "practice mode" right now playing for small stakes with small spreads - not really trying to make a real earning at this juncture but rather try to hone my craft under the radar so when i become a master, to borrow a phrase from the bay area beast, i can back and loosen my belt on them

it's not for the faint of heart, when the count is good, that means the dealer is also getting good cards as well - i can't tell you how many times the dealer deals out 20s to all 5 players and themself has blackjack etc

definitely had sessions where i did everything right and lost a bunch because you're only flipping the edge slightly, and it's really a numbers game about putting in volume and hoping those terribad moments are at the $10 min table where your big push is a lot smaller than the higher min tables

because i rathole, i often have near the table max as my remaining stack - so i use this as "f it let's double up or go home" for a really big push

last night i do this and have about $400 on the hand, the pit boss even comes over to root me on and I'm standing up like an idiot and cheering loudly, slamming the table calling for good cards - every single inch of my austistic body is writhing in pain in this performative monkey act but you gotta play the part

i get dealt 99, dealer shows a 6, this is going to be probably 2nd to last hand of the shoe, one deck left about, count is 9 so true count of 9, which is pretty darn good, very rare for a situation like this, even rarer for it to happen and we don't see just pure face cards

i split it, the old guy i'm playing with is screaming at me not do that "are you crazy you have all that money out there and 18 is a good hand"

spoiler, 18 is a terrible hand, if you got dealt 18 each hand you'd actually lose money - normies think it's good though

but i yell back "i wonn't be able to sleep at night if i don't split this, i'll be wondering about what could have been for years!"

first one gets a face card for 19, "see, 19 is better than 18!" i loudly proclaim to the other guy, the pit boss proceeds to give me a high five

other 9 gets a deuce, omfg i'm loving life, and despite that i have over 1k in greenies tucked away in the various pockets of my sport coat, i proceed to pull out another 400 in hundos to now double it - i of course get a 5 because it's probably the last one in the deck and obviously coming my way when i have a $800 hand on a $25 table and pit boss who is now my biggest bro ever is talking to me about how it's all good, dealer will bust anyway, dealer indeed has 16, flips the cut card so no more (which sucks and now makes me think i blundered by splitting because i missed a shot at another hand at this crazy good count and then flips over an ace for 17, so i win the $400 19 and lose the $800 16

still a profitable session, but had that final hand gone the way of expectation it'd have been a much better one

RR -Congrats mang! It is really a great feeling when you can control the narrative and mold how you are viewed by the pit. Getting them to high 5 you when you are cranking out massive bets with a big spread is the best feeling. Well done.

The good news is the more you do this stuff the more automatic it becomes and you actually become this character.

After every poker session I do a review of what mistakes I made. There are always some. I strive for perfection (never had a perfect poker session). I do the same with 21. I am a robot when it comes to count/deviations. So when I am doing straight foreword counting I spend most of my post session analysis reviewing my personal presentation. I am constantly fine tuning my interactions, word choice, mannerisms etc. Most of the pit personnel like to think they have street smarts, so I like to drop subtle things like the vodka tonic so they can put that stuff together "on their own".

The great news is once you have counting, deviations, and bet ranging dialed you can move to more sophisticated stuff like shuffle tracking. This is ossum cuz it provides natural cover due to the fact that you are cutting packets of 10's and A's rich slugs to the front and are firing from the git go

Be careful ratholing. When you rathole there has to be someone else they can attribute those chips to. So make sure to rathole after someone has left that those chips can be allocated to. So if someone is flatbetting 10$ I am not going to rathole a few hundred. But if someone comes in and fires a few bets off of green into black I can rathole. If they think you are ratholing that is BAD NEWS. So do not fcuk that up.

JOTS or any u other guys that have interest or questions do not hesitate to ask. I hate the casinos with a passion and if I can make them less profitible in any way it makes me happy.

thanks for the rathole advice, i only do it $100 at a time when pulling it won't be noticeable

was wondering if pulled too much last night, usually just pull 100-400 at most but there were a lot of people bouncing to the tables, playing 2-3 hands and then leaving and i noticed they were paying zero attention at all (hence why this dealer could mispay and miscount repeatedly and they had no idea)

this was a new casino and i didn't scout the cage beforehand so i didn't realize my error until i went to the cage and noticed only 1 window open so i'd have to repeatedly go to the same person and so spent another hour at the casino making sports bets and such and staggering the payouts trying to fly more under the radar whereas at other places i'll cash 200 at one window and then 10 min later go to another window and cash 300 more etc

learned to stagger when one night i cashed my ratholed chips and my regular ones at the same time and they wanted an id and when i asked why it was because they were just trying to account for chips whenever someone cashed a large amount - no suspicion of counting though as they keep sending me great offers, ie i am freerolled into a weekly rock paper scissors tourney and very tempted to go back just for that

because an autist always reads the inane and it's so joyful to think this could actually come into play

Why do they care if you rathole? They're your chips, you're not obligated to have them on the table at any time, are you?

you'll notice whenever people color up the pitboss comes over and confirms the amount so now they have a won/loss statement on you

you'll notice at some places dealers will ask people bring everything forward when they just try to color up their smaller chips let's say they have 3 greens and $75 in red and they just put forward the reds and one green but the dealer will request that the other two green get put forward as well despite that they literally can't upgrade those at all

this is more to make it easier to track for win/loss statements than for "convenience" of converting 4 greens to 1 black

so ratholing makes it more difficult for them to keep track of how much you've won or lost - i've done it for two reasons, tax purposes (a few casinos where I'm up like 1k have sent me statements that I'm down 800 last year) and to better fly under the radar as some casinos will do a video review of your play once your winnings pass a certain number

last night was by far the most blatant and brazen i've ever done it and it was because i was getting piles of greenies and there was literally nobody watching over anything, most of the time i couldn't even locate the pitboss because he or she was MIA

i immediately regretted ratholing so much once i realized how ****ed the cage situation was and strongly considered just holding a bunch for another day but wasn't sure when i'd be back to this place since it was 1.5 hours away

and again, if i'm ever "caught" doing it i have a plausible excuse prepared of "it's my stop loss, i can play out my wallet but won't play chips once they've gone into the pocket because way too many times i go home and can't even get mcdonald's drive through because i lost it all"
