Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic fa
right, that stink never wears off trolly. on your bike, back to UP.
I'm sure you're right about that
but if people support authoratarians even by mistake when they think they are democrats then eventually cognitive processes will mostly resolve that as 'democracy sucks' or 'oops'. (They may or perhaps more often may not become conciously aware of this). it's a cognitive equivalent of the nixonian being got by the balls.
I fear 'democracy sucks' will slaughter 'oops'. At least for a while until people might remember that democracy is worth fighting for.
Victor turning on Bern while βha ha ha wouldnβt it be so gay if I fucked you in the ass ha ha haβing for Trump is literally the least surprising shit Iβve ever seen in my life
Yeah if you are to the left of him you are probably a traitor to America. Just like if you are to the right of Nixon you are probably a traitor to America. Itβs called an Overton window.
Im pretty sure victor has acknowledged that he is in favor of bringing down america. That position obv isnt lefty/righty libard or magaturd or w/e.
I wish more people did that instead of arguing for really idiiotic proposals in bad faith.
literally nothing Victor is doing is something you should ever wish others are doing
I understand why you would think that. It's difficult for liberals to understand the slightest concept of principles like you know, opposition to mass murder children.

What counties do you think are around which have never mass murdered children?
And when two regimes, both of whom have mass murdered children, do you think it might still be fair to prefer one regime to the other?
If not, what should be done? It's a lot easier to criticize than to come up with a good policy.

Probably only Bhutan
You say that like you imagine yourself sympathetic to them. You would have cheered their expulsion as "illegal immigrants" if you knew about it at the time.
No i say that because he probably thought Bhutan was so remote, that would spare it the need to use organized systemic violence regularly.
Instead, organized systemic violence happens everywhere, everytime, in human history (which is why criticizing it is never a political criticism, just a criticism of the totality of humanity as it is, a denial of human nature).
Organized systemic violence in inevitable and inexorable (until/unless we heavily modify our DNA), so society role is to channel it to productive endeavors, not to deny it exist or to "ban" it (which is impossible and only causes more systemic violence down the line).
A denial that it encompasses any of the best things about "human nature", ie all the things you don't like.
Pointing a stick at the worst things humans do and saying "Hey, that's just who we are so it's ok" is pathetic.
It’s who men are, at least
Maybe time to to try a matriarchal society
booby traps
I would think, that as a hard-core libertarian, you would believe everybody's protection should be self-provided. What's with the society bullshit?
I am not anarchic, i am mini-archist, i am ok with the existence of a skeletal state with basic functions, among which the main one is actually protection from violence (foreign and domestic).
I am a normal classic liberal, i have to use the libertarian label just because "conservatives" today tend to be to the far left on the "state power axis" of what they were 150 years ago.
