short and maybe stupid question since it’s only my 2nd time visiting and I’ve never really used comps:
When I collect for playing Cashgame 1-2$ per hour and wanna use them at the end of the trip for let’s say a restaurant visit, do I just tell the waiter when I want the bill that I want to use my collected comps or how does it work?
If my wife also gambles and collects some, can you use both for one bill?

Are you talking South Point, MGM properties, Caesars properties? I think they're all different. Also depends on if you're talking just poker or other stuff too. Not sure if it's still the same, but Bellagio you would have to get the floor to write a comp for you. Caesers props it's just on your card and you can just tell the cashier.

Cashgame mostly at MGM properties. Normally I give them my card when I sit down and thought itβs automatically booked on it?

for MGM you have to talk to the poker room supervisor who will print a voucher for you. it expires in like 48 hours. each room is separate (Grand does not combine hours/comps with Aria)
Mgm, get a print out... South point, give the cashier/waiter your players card
You're probably going to need to bring your own helper, I would think. I doubt they'll provide someone to handle your cards/chips and they won't want your neighbors at the table doing that. Definitely shouldn't be a problem though. Hal was blind and had to have help with cards/chips and I think he could play anywhere he wanted.
I have seen it many times over... with para, quad and the blind.
a casino wont provide a helper though, that is up to you.
some rooms are tight from a table perspective but many have plenty of room to move around assisted.
Cheers to you... and I hope you get some good time in at the tables.
Pretty much every casino will accommodate. May not be 100% certain but ADA will mandate reasonable accommodations. But as noted, while they will allow someone to act as your hands, but most (all?) will require you provide your own assistant.
I think the Venetian and maybe some others, spread eight handed games so they should have room for a helper.

Yup played with Hal at the Mirage. I think most places these days will allow someone to have an assistant help them.
Ed1sher3,
i am surely interested in how your experience goes if you are comfortable posting about it later
riding a stag to vegas looking for assistance with checking cards and moving chips
seems the easiest pool of candidates might come from the rest of the herd you travel with
make it a game to see who will be your luckiest charm at the tables
Caesars hotel room quality? I have no status anywhere but see Flamingo and Linq are very reasonable for 3rd week of June. Cromwell and Paris are higher. Roughly$200 cost difference over 5 nights.
Iβm looking for decent room, no super thin walls and close to WSOP which these all fit. My gut was the lower cost ones but for $200 will Cromwell and Paris be noticeably nicer?
I haven't stayed at Cromwell, but I think based on the noise level from their club when I stayed at Ballys long ago, you may want to skip Cwell since no thin walls was a requirement, lol. Maybe it's quieter there than Ballys though, I don't know.
Iβm very surprised the pricing for late june has been really really fair personally. More so that may or July for some reason
Cromwell not worth it if its the same price as Paris.
If cheaper is more important, then Flamingo. If proximity is more important, Paris.
If Horseshoe is cheaper than Paris then go there and ask for a pool view. Quietest rooms in that area and not blinded by the light of Mordor coming from the Horseshoe sign out front.
On March 10, 2025, I'm planning a 3-day trip to Las Vegas from Chicago with a friend. We have already bought tickets and booked a hotel. I'm currently actively interested in poker and would like to play some Texas Hold'em tournaments with a $100 buy-in. Please tell me which tournaments are better to play and are there any satellite tournaments these days, where can I find infor
South Point probably has the best structured low buy-in tournaments. used to be $60, I think it is $160 now.
Resorts World is one of the best rooms in Vegas and they have great $200 daily tournaments but the field is usually very small (less than 40).
Aria daily tournaments are $160, I think, that is probably the best on the Strip.
yes, poker atlas is your best resource

Thanks - love the LOtR reference. Rest is so hard to get in a short Vegas trip so Iβm thinking Paris over flamingo for hopefully better sleep

10:05am at South Point still have $100 buy-in; great value tournament IMO although the structure gets a bit shallow towards the end. They also have some tourneys with $150 and $200 buy-in at times:

the first question would be where are you guys staying if you don't have a car as the "value" will be gone if you guys gotta travel x miles and pay Ubers and such
Mohegan rewards pulling out of Vegas/Virgin? Just got an e-mail saying they were leaving the Vegas market, but looked forward to seeing me at other Mohegan destinations.

"The Mohegan Tribe will end its casino management role at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas by the end of the year. (my edit: 2024)"
Behind the paywall, I see (but can't read) an article from the 25th about new casino mgmt at Virgin, also. I assume I'll be assimilated eventually into whatever takes over.
