2025 WSOP!!
I know itβs early and normally Iβm not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, Iβm itching to go back already!

Here's the part I don't like about WSOP tournaments. During the 20 min typical breaks they chase you the hell completely out of the room. You are left in the hallways where there is minimal seating so you have to stand most of the time or lay on the floor. Not something that happens at my local casino. Just venting.
I'm pretty sure you can rent a Hoveround if standing for 20 minutes is problematic. Vegas is the Hoveround capital of the world! It's not realistic to expect WSOP to provide thousands of lounge chairs for people on breaks. It's cost prohibitive and would be a huge fire/active shooter hazard.
People need to realize the WSOP is more like a music festival than the $130 daily they play at their local casino (at least for their weekend large flight events). Just because it's the "premier brand" in poker does not mean you will be coddled or that everything will be top of the line. Part of the WSOP experience is the massive swarms of people and the insanity of it all. If that's not for you, then it might be best to stick with your local casino.
They need to clear the room to protect the stacks. The tables can't all be watched throughout the breaks. Dealers have to pee too.
Interesting that the Mini-Main Event has changed this year. Now there are 2 flights and you can re-enter on Day 1B. I bet the number of entries nearly doubles. The biggest issue that event faced was capacity issues.
Still very torn on how to plan my trip. I have been focusing on PLO and want to work in more PLO tournaments into my schedule. But a lot of buy-ins that I am looking for are after the main event.
Plan to play Event #45: $500 SALUTE to Warriors - event, maybe the monster stack prior. But most likely a few others outside of WSOP at the local casinos series. Anyone play the Salute to Warriors before?
Looks like a decent structure and for a good cause (main reason I want to play).
Lastly I haven't been to Vegas in a few years. Plan to stay at Aria but might choose Bellagio for a upcharge through MGM Rewards to be closer to the venue. Is the difference of a walk that bad?
Thanks

Iβve played the STW. Good event. More seniors than a typical WSOP event. Make of that what you will.
As for the walk, itβs about 10 minutes longer from Aria, depending on your pace. I would recommend walking through the City Center mall and crossing to PH. If being outdoors is a problem, you can always go the long way from Aria to Bellagio and then the shortest outdoor part is probably crossing to the Grand Bazzare.

I stayed at the Aria and played this event. I ended up bubbling it. It's pretty good value for a $500 event. It's a long day though. Play is very mixed. Everyone likes to say "Thank you for your service" to every vet.
The Aria walk is kind of borderline. I was usually cabbing it. Because it's not super far, but the back and forth over time wears on you. Aria is like right on the cusp of needing a cab IMO. Sure, you walk it the first two or three times and then you get to the point where you have a crazy long day and want to preserve your energy.
Hello , if you are planning to visit WSOP in one of these dates , here is the list of tournaments to play . # in the bracket are for numbers of players played that tournament in 2024. Many times WSOP cancels Daily Deepstakes due to other big events. Will add non wWSOP events as it releases.

I played it last year. Good event. Deep stack. Slow structure. Mixed level of play. It feels like a proper WSOP tournament.
It's 10-handed, which I don't like, but still one of the best options on the schedule below $1k. I would recommend it.
I will be playing it again this year because it happened to get scheduled in the window where I booked ahead of time.
I was very happy to see that because it would've been high on my list of budget NLHE events to target.

I've played it and it is a decent structure with 50K starting stack and as Akashenk mentioned it has the feel of a Senior event. It should be noted that they withhold $40 or 8% of the entry as a donation ($40 of each entry will be donated to the United Service Organizations and other veteran organizations.) BUT they offset this with lowering their own take to 10% so it is an effective 18% fee to play. Considering the cause I personally believe this is more than fair since the cost of the $500 COLOSSUS is 17% where CET keeps it all. The only problem for some is that Flight A of the very popular Senior Event is the next day and it is a 3 day Event. Realistically it might cut out Flt A and leave you with a Flt B Tuesday shot ( Lets face it few people make day 3) and even then you might be able to late Reg in Flt B Senior anyway. If it wasn't for that I would play it every year.
Appreciate the feedback on SALUTE to Warriors event. I think it will be a must play for sure with all the positive feedback and the good cause of the event in general. For the price point and structure, I think it is a great option for my first WSOP event for sub $1k like mentioned for the dates I plan to be in Vegas.
I have had to cancel my trip the past 2 years due to work/personal reasons and never have played a WSOP event before. Only a bunch of WSOP Circuit events on the east coast, so excited to get my feet wet finally.
Also appreciate the feedback on hotel options. I am leaning towards Aria just because I can get a better rate and keep some extra cash in my pocket for another daily tournament and/or other expenses. I don't mind the walk and if need be seems a cab/uber back to the hotel at the end of the night is worst case scenario. I plan to Play a few daily's around the strip before the SALUTE to Warriors event, so will only be at Paris/Horseshoe for max 3 days if I made it deep.

LINQ,BALLYS/HORSHOE is the "center" strip, aria is somewhat close to them. if youre that worried about spendin ghte extra in tourneys then thats fair
if you were spending 50% of your tourneys at paris/horshoe then its a no brainer to just get stationed there tho since it would barely be a price increase compared to aria
Humans can go 7 days or so without food and intermediate fasting of 12-24 hours or more is normal.
So I donβt understand the stress of food playing an 8-12 session especially since itβs a competition and youβre performance goes down with a full belly

You can survive 7 days without food but even 7 hours without food are a bit stressing if you're not used to it, I eat like 5 meals a day so I'm not used to fasting, I believe most people who can have at least 3 meals a day.

This isnβt the News, Views, Gossip forum.
And yes, some humans can go 7 days w/o food. And some humans canβt go more than a few hours due to health conditions, need to take medications, diets, etc. There is a lot of variability in the human condition. You may not βfeelβ the stress of the things other people require, but surely youβre intelligent enough to βunderstandβ them. Surely????

I'll also be playing that one. I've played in the past and enjoyed it. For hotel options, I'd consider switching to Cosmopolitan. There is surface street crossing (no sky bridge) right outside their front door that puts you in front of PHo with a short walk in the side door of Paris to get to the WSOP convention space. Also, much, much, much better food options in Cosmopolitan. Definitely worth considering.
I didn't even consider Cosmo and my room rate is comparable to Aria and still lower then Bellagio.
For some reason I just had Aria or Bellagio stuck in my mind as the only two options.
Appreciate the insight. Decisions decisions...

For playing in the WSOP events (Salute to Warriors + ) if my choice was ARIA or Horseshoe or Paris unless you are getting some special deal via MGM its a slam dunk to stay at the Horseshoe or Paris for convenience. I suspect its also $100 a night cheaper. It's not cheap booking anymore as the deal periods are all pretty much over a couple months ago now for the Mid June time frame but its about a 1 mile hike if you don't have a car so you burn a lot of time even getting an uber back and forth. If you are going to stay elsewhere believe it or not the RIO was giving people 5 free nights a month or two ago. That may have ended and SUPPOSEDLY its not the dive it was backing in 2018 and the rooms and Casino have been remodeled. If saving a buck is important to you , you might check.

How much more $$$ is Aria than Bellagio?
I prefer Bellagio for my WSOP trips because my wife loves the pool, although she prefers Aria's restaurants. Bellagio is right across the street from WSOP, yet worlds away as the clientele/environment is totally different than Horshoe. On dinner breaks I have my wife meet and order for me somewhere at Bellagio so it's ready when I get there. I get a break from poker, have a nice meal and I'm always back to WSOP in plenty of time. It's maybe a 10min walk across the bridge to Bellagio from Horshoe.
Aria and Cosmo are both connected to Bellagio via (mostly) indoor walkway now, so they're both very reasonable options for WSOP. I've never stayed at Cosmo, but have stayed at Aria when Bellagio is significantly more expensive. If you're able-bodied, the walk to WSOP from ARIA is 15min max.
Yeah I’ve stayed at vdara the last few years for wsop and the walk isn’t an issue. I like having a kitchen and not being in a casino hotel - a lot less crowded, quieter, Starbucks with mobile ordering, and no smoke.

Geez, I doubt I could make that in 15 min when I was on the high school track team.

In my opinion Vdara is the ideal hotel for a WSOP-only trip. If I ever plan a week+ WSOP trip, Vdara is where I'd stay.
I don't get it. Rates are no bargain and I am seeing "non-refundable" for advance bookings. Add to that a non-trivial walk from this MGM property. Not for me.
I am an MGM rewards member, but I have virtually no status and hardly gamble at all so Iβm not getting great deals. Iβve always been able to cancel a reservation for a full refund so long as itβs greater than 24hrs in advance. Perhaps theyβve changed that in the past month or so?
As far as price, Iβm sure one can do better. That said, at this point in my life Iβm happy to pay more for quality/comfort.
Iβm over 50 but active and healthy. I have had zero issue with the walk to WSOP from Bellagio/Aria/Vdara. Youβre not outside for more than 10min.
