fact is there isn't only one way to have a democracy, so it's not only 1 form of government, rather a very wide range of forms of government.
It would be perfectly democratic to have universal democracy YET to be a candidate you had to pass exceptional tests for example.
Or it would be a democracy even if only rich men could vote like it literally was the case in most places where democracy was created.
It would be a democracy even if only seniors could vote, or if only people up to 50 years old could vote.
It would be a democracy even if elected people were elected for life to their positions, or if you have very strict term limits and everything in between.
It would be a democracy if people had an amount of votes that depended on some societal ranking.
So, idea is why the belief that the current iteration of democracy is the best vs all other possible iterations?
I'm looking forward to the election where the intelligent people are whining about, and laughing at, stupid people are for voting for literal fascism from a trumpian fool rather than their cunning plan just to not to let the dumb people vote.

That's all well and good, but people's lives are affected, some quite badly. I am not entertained by that at all, but Maga loves for people not them to suffer.
They do. The MAGA are interesting in the way they act on their fear which is the biggest part of them. They are willing to sacrifice everyone as long as they don't have to go first, as long as they can see their cultural enemies thrown into the thresher first. Why do they carry this apparent suicidal impulse? I believe deep down they have this immense fear of authority. They totally accept the proposition that there is no democracy, there is no way to express yourself in a politically meaningful way and that all you can do is express your opinion on the trans or immigration issues. You don't get meaningful action on those issues (Trump deportation numbers don't eclipse the Dems) but you get to see Trump spit in the face of the woke scolds who think they are so smart. MAGA accepts this as the range of possibility because they are unwilling to challenge the real material winners, the elites who really set the agenda. You see this even in their mass shooters. They will go shoot a bunch of black people for political reasons, totaling sidestepping anyone with real power to focus on people with the least power. They won't challenge Bezos but they will pretend some soft academic is poisoning the world of ideas from his quiet study in Wellesley. They are like the abuser who looks for weak victims but cower in front of anyone formidable.
Listening to Gabbard and Ratcliffe testify about the Signal chat is hilarious.
