2025 WSOP!!
I know it’s early and normally I’m not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, I’m itching to go back already!
I
Yea, same here. Flights booked, hotels booked, tournament schedule pencilled in. Just waiting now. I guess the next event before the actual start will be the opening of online registration, probably sometime in early May I would guess?

No online schedule yet?
Same here as well. Going June 13th-20th for sure. May try to go for the Mystery Millions, but not sure I can get away. Prices seem to be dropping a little on hotels so I am going to gamble and try and get a better deal by waiting.
A nice aspect of a trip later in the WSOP like yours is you get to follow the action through tournament reporting, DNegs' vlogs, etc to get yourself hyped for the trip. I've found my interest in the WSOP falls off a cliff AFTER my trip so I usually prefer to go in late June/early July myself.

That’s funny you say this. I was thinking this will happen to me this year because I’m going out about 10-14 days earlier than I normally do, arriving 6/5.
I was wondering when I get back home mid-month if I’d be less inclined to follow along to what’s still happening out there.

The benefit of going early is that if you bink something you can stay longer or go back later in the series for round 2. I always like to go early if possible, still waiting on the binking part though.
MGM is running a week long sale on rooms. I ended up booking the Cosmo last night. Price was about 15% cheaper than before the sale.

We’ve seen travel to Vegas is down lately, both internationals and overall. I don’t see anything changing in next 2 months in global economics and politically to make me think demand will surge back up.
I booked direct thru Caesar’s at harrahs and have already rebooked at lower rate ($100 per night all in for 5 nights starting on a Monday) and have been monitoring MGM and noticed rates are lower, esp on the nicer properties.
I’d say all fellow non-status peeps book direct and continue to monitor and rebook as needed. Feel like I might be getting a ‘deal’ from Vegas after years of shifting the other way.
I plan on doing some Daily Deepstacks this year but I’m not entirely sure where they are. I’m staying at horseshoe so when I go down the elevators, where do I go for the daily deepstacks?

Assuming that they're in the same place as last year, to get there, go up the escalators to the right of the poker room. If you're not familiar with where that is, make a right after coming out of the elevator area, and head straight along the hotel check-in area. When you get to the doors to the exit that would take you to Las Vegas Blvd, make a left and you'll see the poker room across the casino floor and the escalators to the right beyond the poker room, just to the right of a little cafe.

Perfect, thank you!
The last couple of years, I did WSOP daily deepstacks (because I had a bad habit of busting out bracelet-events early). This year, since I’ll be spending 9 straight evenings there, I’m anxious to try various tournaments in the evenings .
These are the evening tourneys I believe will be available the week I’ll be there.
- Wynn’s $1100 turbo
- MGM Grand $300
- Resorts World $200
- Orleans $200
- Venetian $600 Bounty
- Golden Nugget $130
- Golden Nugget $400 Omaha
Unfortunate that Aria doesn’t do evening tourneys.
It’ll be fun to actually walk around the strip rather than being stuck at Horseshoe all day.

Assuming you are in LV the First week of June (Venetian Bounty) I don't believe you can count on what will be going on at The Orleans or Golden Nugget yet since their summer Series schedules have not been released yet.
I’ve never played Orleans but have heard good things. Maybe this will be the year I give them a whirl.

I've played a couple tournaments there and enjoyed it. They seem to get a lot of local rec players thanks to their lower buy-ins and free parking. I played a 1-day event last Summer and found the field to be significantly softer than events at Wynn and Venetian. If you're in Vegas outside of the WSOP timeframe, their regular $200 Sunday tournament is pretty great. It draws a huge field with a decent structure and a $50k guarantee. I also like that their breakfast restaurant is very reasonably priced, a welcome relief from the strip.
A couple pieces of advice:
- They recently started requiring a players card for tournament registration. They didn't do this last year, so I found out the hard way. When I was there in January they were unable to issue me one there, and the rewards desk is on the opposite side of the casino from the poker room.
- If you take a rideshare or taxi, they'll want to drop you off at the main entrance on the East side, which is about as far from the poker room as you can get. This is good if you need to get a rewards card first. Otherwise ask them to drop you at the Northwest entrance.

Orleans has always had $200 nightly turbos during the summer, I think it's pretty safe to assume they will have them again this year.
Orleans is great in the summer but for their bigger multi flight events, space becomes an issue. You either need to get there before level 1 or expect to wait up to 2-3 hours for your alternate number to get called. The nightly events don't have this problem.
The dealers at Orleans are really bad, which makes no sense because it's literally the same dealers all year long for the past 5+ years I've gone there. Every time I go there it amazes me how slow their dealers are and how much difficulty they have determining the best hand and making change. Last year, I thought the regular Orleans dealers were overall worse than the WSOP ones. There are good ones, of course, but some of them should've given up dealing years ago.

Registration is also a pain because they don't open it until a short time before play starts. So you wait a long time in line and still only get to be an alternate.
I have a card but haven't been there since last year, so I'll prob have to get a new card.
Venetian/Pallazo are running some great prices on rooms that haven’t been remodeled. As low as $59 midweek and that’s for anyone with a players card
I was looking at flights from Toronto to Vegas in the middle of June and I was shocked to see prices are at least 50% cheaper than anything I have seen in years. I canvased the group I have contact with. Last year 17 people went and this year there is only 3 saying their going, 2 maybes and 12 hell no! I am guessing the numbers will be down substantially this summer. I have a close poker friend in Europe who is saying he is seeing the same thing in his group.
Throw in the turmoil in the US economy and I might be inclined to put the over/under at a 20% drop in entries. This is not a political rant. I just want to know if you were a betting man would you take over or under.
There were 227,573 entries last year so let put the over under at 180,00 for this discussion.

I think the previous generally agreed upon 15% might be a fairer reference, albeit I might take the over on the latter...

I don't disagree with your conclusion as to attendance. I just think it is sad that poker players would allow politics or personalities to get in the way of something that only happens once a year, and in some cases, once in a lifetime. With the exception of that Bonomo douche-bag politics never shows up, and should never show up, at the tables.

You really think there’s that many politically minded poker players?
I’ll go Over 180,000 for the max please [emoji3]
