British Politics

Been on holiday for a few weeks, surprised to find no general discussion of British politics so though I'd kick one off.

Yes it is.

Nonsense. This forum has got to you. Why would someone want to gotcha you when they agree with you?

No I think it;'s fine and far better

Arguments presented without evidence can be dismissed without evidence, so you're on no firmer ground than flat earthers.

...You never can tell with you.😡

That's a non sequitur but out of interest what is your evidence that arguments without evidence can be dismissed without evidence?

+1 for the Crackers...

Ah, Thomas Sowell. Words of wisdom

The video was copied from the anonymous account London & UK Street News (@CrimeLdn), which specialises in scraping crime-related videos from other accounts without acknowledgement to create a sense of social doom.

Over Easter they copied a video subtitled 'Just Another Bank Holiday in Camden', which showed police using a ram on the front door of a rundown Victorian house. The police were in shirtsleeves, not kitted up, let alone armed, and were probably responding to a report that a resident (perhaps elderly) hadn't been seen lately and wasn't answering the door or the phone.

Still, the video of the idiotic racist black woman at Camden Lock appears genuine, except we don't know who shot it or when. The Camden Community Wardens who make the arrest (they're now called Community Presence Officers, but maybe their gilets are out of date) are mainly there to deter drug dealing and soliciting, and don't actually have the power of arrest beyond a citizen's arrest, but they are known to carry handcuffs and they will detain people till police arrive. The claim that the woman was charged with racially aggravated assault is plausible. There's no bona fide local news report to back it up, but it's not the kind of thing that normally gets reported.

Long time since we heard about the imaginary 'no-go areas', though.

For those not aware of his posting history, MSchu18 is a raging full on diehard Trumping bellend, so shouldn’t be taken at all seriously

Knows his films though. And also *trails off*

The legal system.

For prosecutions maybe. Geenerally if you take someone to court and there's no evidence then they win.

I'm not in anyway seeking to prove someone is a trans person. If you object to someones claim for some reason then you would require the evidence and it would have to be pretty drmatic. As it should be. In the same was as if you wanted to deny someone the legal protections on the basis of their sexual preference, religion etc.

What does that even mean? Someone either identifies as transgender- whether they've transitioned to any degree or not- or they don't. So how do you "prove someone is a trans person"?

I think that's the point. Elrazor is heading into legendary wil<> territory here (he said he wanted genital checks on people entering women's toilets), or maybe a Mischling Test with a star they have to wear to allow them access.

Cheers, sorry, shoulda read entire exchange.

Actually let me ask you something- dude with a beard, who hasn't transitioned at all, states he identifies as a woman, just like trans women. He wishes to use the female toilet in a place without a unisex option. What do you think should happen if he heads to the women's toilet?

He denies that's the actual, trasparent claim of trans activists, i tried it already.

He is in denial of the actual state of requests by trans activists. He denies they want automatic aknowledgement of being of the other sex PURELY through self-identification without ever allowing any "third party judgement" or objective judgement about anything at all.

They actually want to allow any man including me to claim i am a woman and get treated as a woman by the law in all aspects without changing anything in my life other than declaring once in writing that i am a woman.

It is so absurd, so grotesque and so insane jalfrezi thinks we are strawmanning, even if that's their request and has been for years, and even if Spain just passed a law allowing exactly that.

Like all countries did for decades, with a list of requirements to change legal sex?

I think unisex toilets should be the norm in public places and work places. How about you?

Also, some women have facial hair (and have electrolysis) which complicates matters for people who want to see trans women sexually assaulted on their way to the toilet.

I agree, or to be more precise I don't necessarily think unisex toilets should be the norm, but wouldn't have a problem with it, if it came about. But let's say again as I initially asked, that option isn't available? What then?

Also, some women have facial hair (and have electrolysis) which complicates matters for people who want to see trans women sexually assaulted on their way to the toilet.

Okay. That's not what I asked though.
See. you said this:

by jalfrezi

Yes, very much this. In people's excitement to debate gender, sex and biology they forget how few of the population transition and how easy it should be to at least show this tiny number of people enough respect to allow them to identify with the gender they feel they belong to, freeing us up to debate things that are hastening the arrival of very dark times indeed that will

Then I asked this:

So bearing in mind that

they forget how few of the population transition and how easy it should be to at least show this tiny number of people enough respect to allow them to identify with the gender they feel they belong to

This hypothetical beardy bloke again hasn't transitioned (yet, maybe she will in time who knows) but for the sake of as you said, being shown enough respect to allow them to identify with the gender they feel they belong to..whaddya do if said hypothetical beardy dude heads to the women's toilets? Should he be stopped or allowed? What if there's other actual biological women in the toilet and they're bothered by this, if it's the latter?

I don’t think it’s a big deal if he does use the women’s toilet, which then simply becomes a de facto unisex toilet doesn’t it?

I’ve used the urinals before in a men’s public toilet when women have come in because theirs was out of order. That’s an order of magnitude less privacy than women get, and it doesn’t bother most men.

If you’re saying that normal non JKR women are against unisex toilets, well I’d like to see the data.

It might be a big deal to women in the toilets though. Like I said, I personally don't have an issue with unisex toilets and I've never heard of any issues arising from them over my way, where they are at some venues and have been for several years. But if it's not the norm and only two options are available, I think women's concerns should take priority.

I mooted this as a hypothetical but it happened once at a place I worked at and we personally felt the bloke was at best taking the piss. My colleague at the time simply stated it was up to him and then passed it up the food chain to let management deal with it. Now it passed without incident, but there was a potential there for another incident arising from it. It can put people in an awkward position.

Same here, especially when I used to go clubbing back in the day. It's one of the reasons I don;t have an issue with unisex toilets.

f you’re saying that normal non JKR women are against unisex toilets, well I’d like to see the data.

I'm not saying that, but it would depend on individual women as people are different and I was wondering what you felt on the matter, that's all.

Basically no woman wants unisex toilet, but a decent amount support having a third bathroom that is gender neutral

Fewer women agree with you ("unisex toilets only!") than they believe we never went on the moon or that the earth is flat
