Pm me the link to buy it

I mean, it's seven months out still. Seems early to preorder, but as 2+2 doesn't have a rule against self promotion anymore, I'll go ahead and
and post it here. Preorder link

Thanks for the great reviews all.

"this book is so captivating that whenever i start reading it the desk raises 4 inches" -- johnny_on_the_spot

Which is really impressive given that his desk starts out 6 inches above his lap.

Hey now! It's already been written and edited. I just need to get the page proofs (I'm guessing soon, since the link includes the number of pages) reviewed and turn in the index and my part will be done.

The Winds of Winter was originally supposed to be published in mid-2012. He still hasn't finished. You're well ahead of his schedule.

I pre-bought from the same guy I'd guess. It will never happen

"Makes excellent kindling." - AzOther1

But really, as if we'll (still?) be a society that values books in 7 months...

Well, book. Singular. Unfortunately the one with evidence-free fairy tales.

Yeah, hardcover is going to happen, but at that price I'm guessing only libraries will buy it.

word, was just wondering if indeed it was in the works or it was just an aspirational price of "sure we'll make it if you really really want it"

"Reading it doubled my annual win rate."

With academic presses, they usually start with hardcover only, so it's actually pretty cool that they are printing both, as I think a lot more people will read it when it's not so ridic expensive.

Of course, part of the deal for getting a paperback edition is that I don't get any royalties on the first 500 paperback copies sold, to help them pay for the set-up costs. Oh well, I'm not going to make much money off this anyway. If I get enough to take my wife out to dinner, it's a win. And if I get enough to take her out to a place that requires reservations, it's a huge win!

Let's cut out the middle man. I'll send you the money for one of your copies and that should be a pretty good start towards dinner. That reminds me, suzzer sent me a free copy of his book and I said I'd buy one also, but never did. Need to go remedy that.

We've been hosting a conference all week. We have a conference center on base, as well as a library with attached conference facilities. Did we use either of those? No. Instead we went to the "innovation center" that is in an old department store downtown.

I suppose the idea was that we'd get more folks from regular universities if they didn't have to deal with getting on base, but mother of god was this facility awful. We met in a giant room with giant pillars all over to make the echos bounce around in many more random fragments and with an air-handling system that sounded like driving a car with a bad wheel bearing. The presentations were almost impossible to hear and the entire experience was exhausting.

How innovative.

I rode my bicycle to the rec centre to play pickleball last night.

I think that makes me either 7 years old or 67 years old.

I assume you left the helmet on while you played pickleball?

I only take the helmet off when showering.

GcluelessspecialneedsnoobG

Might want to think that through. Showering is dangerous.

Especially if you're in the party shower.
