Israel's war in Gaza grinds on, but opposition is growing.
In recent weeks, thousands of Israeli reservists – from all branches of the military – have signed letters demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government stop the fighting and concentrate instead on reaching a deal to bring back the remaining 59 hostages being held by Hamas.
Eighteen months ago, few Israelis doubted the war's logic: to defeat Hamas and return the hostages.
For many, the January ceasefire and subsequent return of more than 30 hostages raised hopes that the war might soon end.
But after Israel broke the ceasefire and returned to war in mid-March, those hopes were dashed.
"We came to the conclusion that Israel is going to a very bad place," Danny Yatom, a former head of the spy agency Mossad told me.
The invasive pine trees Israel plants to obscure wrecked villag... are now on fire.
Most Zionists don't believe that God exists, but they do believe he promised them Palestine. -- Ilan Pappe
the fires were probably started by genocidal settlers burning Palestinian land. its always funny that the Zionists act like they are indigenous and then go and destroy all the land for fun and profit.

New Mideast Project Is Latest Trump Company Deal Tied to a Foreign Government
The Trump Organization agreed to partner on a real estate project in Qatar in the latest of a series of projects tied to foreign governments.
--Just a reminder that while all the sheeple are bleating about Hasbara and AIPAC; Qatar is buying EVERYONE off on both sides of the aisle. Which is why no one will talk about Qatar. Not even AOC.
--The same nation that is buying off the Trump family is also the biggest donor to US Universities (and everything in between) and they are doing the same thing throughout the world. Even Netanyahu regime is accused of taking bribes from them.
The Israelis made much of the land habitable. You really can’t feign this level of stupidity.
show your work, bc Im pretty sure the land was inhabited for thousands of years prior

Not sure if Scientific American is considered Hasbara or whatever. Fwiw this is common knowledge and there’s plenty of sources on it.
an article from 1960? yes most "common knowledge" is bullshit.
Once you accept that God is a comedian it all makes sense. God clearly reserved the land of milk and honey for the lactose intolerant. He wanted the desert for people who sun burn in 15 minutes flat.
But the most convincing attribute of those promised Israel by God is the way they scatter back to Europe every time conflict erupts. That's how you know the land is theirs, because when you love something you let it go at the drop of a pancake shaped hat.
There are plenty of other sources and that article was reprinted in 2010. The facts are there for those who are interested.
and there are plenty of articles that show that the land was thriving prior to the Zionist invasion. and that the Zionists have made it a point to destroy extensive amount of indigenous plants and habitat including many olive groves and replaced it with invasive European plants.
this is a common practice of genocidal colonizers. the American settlers destroyed the fertility and wildlife of the land to starve out the natives. Israel is no different.
Right, I forgot that Hamas and the Houthis are actually eco-terrorists waging war on behalf of Mother Nature.
You don't know what you're talking about. This is the hoary canard about a land without a people for a people without a land.Palestine traded olive oil and wine with Europe for a thousand years.Palestinian farmers developed the Jaffa orange.
I provided a source and you’re free to explore other sources from people who know what they’re talking about. I’m not sure what your picture is supposed to prove.

Watching some of that settlers movie, some of those early outposts are on some pretty barren land and when they show the more established settlements there is a lot of greenery. It's not that hard to do, just takes money for infrastructure. In the early days the colonists from Europe had access to more resources than the local Arabs and were able to make land more productive. The Palestinians can't really use that as an excuse anymore. All the money used for the Gaza tunnels, the place could be a huge food forest instead. Assuming they had any water rights.

They never did have water rights. The Israelis always controlled the water and didn't allow much of it, same as they restricted food supplies to just-above-starvation levels.

Here, I'll dumb it down for you.
When the Ottoman rule ended, 75% of land was being used to harvest grains. Often, a two-field system would be used to grow winter crops wheat and barely on one side and summer crops sesame and Indian millet on the other. The next season, the second side would have the winter crop and the first side would be left unsown. The Ottoman government attempted to ban fallowing and repossess the untilled land but were unable to.
During this period farmers also grew dura, beans, fenugreek, chickpeas, olives, grapes, cotton, and oranges with citrus groves making up 3,000 hectares of land in 1910.
750,000 Palestinians were expelled in the Nakba. What do you think they were living on?

an estimated 85% of cultivable land in Palestine, using rainfed, low-input baal techniques in harmony with the local climate and economy. "Your Scientific American article is colonialist claptrap with a technocratic veneer.

Gaza is small and it still produced a lot of vegetables. until Israel destroyed all of the farmland and killed all the farmers.
the West Bank is routinely burned by genocidal settlers. Lebanon is routinely burned by the genocidal IDF.
one of the reasons the land in many areas of the West Bank is not as productive is bc, as you mention, the genocidal Israelis systematically destroy the water supplies, pogrom the farmers, and uproot the crops.

The hyperlink for the source behind the 85% statistic is curiously defunct (in your Mondoweiss article).
I clicked on the hyperlink and it didn’t work. Usually when you provide someone information they don’t have to go looking for it.
