They should allow one cancellation refund only for the entire series. That would account for the vast majority of situations where something unexpected prevented play, and minimize the opportunity for angling.

This cancellation thing is going to cause problems with anglers.

Also, the rule about random seating is questionable. Does that apply to the featured tables They always have at least one well-known player so it definitely hasn't always been completely random.

Last year they had Kristen Foxen at the feature table for 4 straight days. This was definitely not random.

The table make-up is random, they just decided to move her entire table to Feature everyday. The feature table isn’t 9 people specially selected from 9 different tables lol.

If Kristen Foxen was at the featured table 4 straight days, that because the producers thought her’s was the best table to feature on those days. But the players around her were indeed chosen randomly, and before the producers made the decision about which table to feature.

I thought this was actually the rule,or at least it was a few years ago.

The make up of "her" table was random. That they decided to put "her" table onto the feature table wasn't and never has been.

So while it was not random that she was on the FT 4 days straight, the make up of that table was random.

In his hey day, Phil Ivey HATED being on the FT, esp. early. So he would 'buy' his way out of it by paying cash to the other players at his table to 'compensate' them for losing FT. Did this affect his table being selected to be the FT since WSOP 'knew' what was likely to happen? Probably. But more important, did it impact the 9 other players playing with him? No.

Yes, they move an entire, already constructed, table on the floor to be the feature tv table. The choice of which table to move is obviously predicated on what β€œstars” are at the table. On the other hand, when a seat opens at a tv table, I’ve noticed a high likelihood of it being filled by a β€œstar” from a broken table, I think the floormen must have good bottom dealing skills o

Over the years I have seen plenty of no names take empty seats at FT. Often, they just 'quietly' show up vs. when a big name gets moved to FT.

Seen FT with zero star power on them because the star busted or was moved (as the moving off a star player is also just as random) for balancing. But then, since these were edited shows back in the day, that entire 'boring' part of the day just got edited away.

Your 'feeling' that 'stars' are non-randomly selected to be moved to a FT, is most likely a example of confirmation bias.

Poker on TV stopped being cool over a decade ago. No one is rigging seat draws for a good FT to put on CBS Sports Network that needs Cornhole championships as a lead in.

Who the hell is watching re-runs on CBS Sports after the fact, instead of paying $30 or $40 to watch the entire series on PokerGo plus more.

People watching Cornhole and then just kept it on same channel

There’s probably very few people that are interested enough to know it’s eventually coming on CBSN, and make the decision to save the $15 and just wait. I’d set the line at 43 nationwide

I know someone who watches re-runs on PG. But let's be serious, the produced and edited shows are much easier to watch for the typical viewer.

Honestly, watching a live, unedited, poker stream or tournament is like watching paint dry. Boring as hell. At least to the typical viewer looking for entertainment.

Probably already mentioned somewhere, but this one is really good too.

Already mentioned; already pointed out that Hallaert's is much more robust.

PokerGo WSOP streaming schedule is out.

uggh, where are all the 10k mix game events? They streamed most of them last year. Only mix is the 50k PPC and the 3k 9 game. Only a few PLO events and the rest is all NL. 0 2-7 events this year, the 10k NL 2-7 single draw is always a great stream. Disappointing.

Yes very disappointing schedule

Lots of 25K/50K/100K nlhe stuff multiple days but that’s the same PokerGO tour stuff they stream all year with same robots swapping pieces

At least the PPC coverage is top notch though. Three full days

They go where the demand is. Tens of thousands in a NLHE event vs. ~200 for 2-7. It’s easy to see what more people want to watch. Stinks because if they were to show more mixed games and explain the basics of the game during the stream, it would likely boost their popularity.

I don't know if anything is more boring than more high roller NLHE tournaments, but they have access to their own analytics and likely know where their bread is buttered, so it's not really my job to determine what's best for their bottom line. I at least like that they will show the Monster Stack, Milly Maker, and Colossus. These tend to generate some new faces at the final table, and it's cool to see randoms winning life-changing money.

Historically, I think they've tried to squeeze in bonus coverage when huge names are making a run in something, so maybe we get a surprise final table in a more esoteric event if someone like Negreanu, Ivey, or Hellmuth is down there.

I do think they leave meat on the bone with their WSOP license by (primarily) only showing final tables and not really capturing the excitement of the early days or the journey to get there, which was always a big part of what made the ESPN Main Event shows fun. The WSOP is a very exciting place to be, but their final table broadcasts feel sterile and lifeless.

+1 to this take

They cite the unpredictability of final tables for mixed games. With most needing extra day.

I’d be ok for just filming whatever was going on that day. And then keep to normal schedule the next day. But I could see the pitch forks coking out if say the 2-7 TD lowball stopped with 3 left and then didn’t follow it the next day

As many on here complained about late start times such as 11pm EST….although didn’t have to watch live.

Those ESPN shows started with hundreds of hours of footage and was edited down to show the players' stories; and those editors had the advantage of knowing how the tournament came out. Comparing those old shows to modern final table livestreams is like comparing apples to mushrooms.

Nothing stops them from sticking cameras in the field for day one of the Monster Stack or Millionaire Maker and finding fun stories to track.

Instead we get maybe the final 6 players who have already locked up gazillions.

There is so much going on at the WSOP on any given day that it's very exciting to be out on the floor, but they don't convey that experience.

This is the year I promise AND KEEP THAT PROMISE to not shred pokergo.
I'm sure I'll have the same complaints as the prior years
But I'm gonna show personal growth and just accept it for what it is
and not post about it.
However, I want you all to think of me
the first time the schedule says, "coverage starting at 7PM EST"
and it doesnt start until 3 hours later when I have to go to sleep
since I have a job the next morning
at least until Mid-June since that's when my summer vaca starts
