Phoenix, AZ has good poker choices and isn't too terribly far from Laughlin or Vegas. The summer heat is a killer though. As an Arizona near native I could sit and stare at the river in Laughlin all day because water is so scarce here. Just went to see Crystal Gayle in concert a couple months ago at the Riverside, it was perfectly fine and the dinner at the Prime Rib place was fantastic, we love Laughlin!
Best cheap(ish) place to stay for WSOP I'm rolling solo so have to get a hotel room, there are no cheaper Air BnbsI'm mainly trying to target a place that has a good pool/hot tub area, since I'll probably just be hanging out, trying to relax and trying not to get gouged on everything for the hours I'm not playing poker.Horseshoe has no hot tub and getting terrible reviewsPlanet
Pretty sure Excalibur has a hot tub next to their pool - most other places you'll have to shell out for the spa to get into a hot tub

MGM Grand has an awesome pool area with a hot tub
I remember sitting in there with a bunch of old black guys last year
Park MGM has a nice hot tub, I chilled in there last November when it was chilly out
I’m one of the few people under 50 that enjoys Laughlin. It’s great for a few days of relaxing lay back atmosphere along the river. Not sure if I’d ever move there. There’s really nothing much in Laughlin. Although if you need to go Home Depot or whatever it’s just across the river in Bullhead. Food options are somewhat limited if you want anything beyond bacon and eggs, b

Where is the best place to watch the FIFA Club World Cup Games? Stadium Swim? Any sportsbook?
Wouldn’t mind watching the game while drinking and having a good time, especially eyeing the game on 20th June Bayern vs Boca
Thoughts on the monorail? Booked at Harrahs for mid June WSOP. Will be at Shoe/Paris for WSOP but also cash at Venetian and maybe Wynn or resorts world if mood strikes me. Mostly hotel to WSOP and the other variants.
Booked at harrahs for 5 nights for $500 total. MGM is $340 all in. I don’t need much other than clean/quiet room. Have stayed at MGM and thought it was fine, location being a negative. Never stayed harrahs and while locale is better, not so sure on quiet and quality.
Worth it to switch to mgm and combo of walk, monorail, uber? Is monorail a super pain to get to at each stop (MGM, Paris, Harrahs seem ideal, just not sure how easy to access the rail stops thru casino).
Pretty easy walk Harrah's -> P/Shoe IMO. You are barely outside if you do it right. Cross over into Linq, exit southside mid-casino, cross Linq Promenade to Flamingo, walk thru Flamingo, exit at southwest corner, cross alley and jump into Cromwell, exit by the Valet (east side). Cross Flamingo Blvd at light to Horseshoe, enter at rideshare entrance away from Strip.
I did Park MGM -> P/Shoe two years ago. Walking there in the morning for WSOP was no issue. Monorail seems convenient, but I've never done it. All of the monorail stations are far removed from the Strip, on the backside of the properties. For WSOP, this seems convenient, but I have no experience.
Uber'ing from either property to/from WSOP seems like it would be less convenient than walking 10-20 minutes, but I don't fear walking in the heat.
I'm staying at Ellis Island this year for my brief WSOP stay. Should be a hoot!
Az,
Thanks - uber reserved mostly for longer stretch late at night or in dead heat (ie, Venetian to MGM). Not afraid of walking some, actually feels good after sitting at poker table. East side of LV Blvd shaded in morning so walk to WSOP from Harrahs or MGM not bad. I sweat pretty easily so prefer to avoid swamp ass without being able to change.
It's been a pretty long time since I've stayed at Harrahs, so I'm not even sure there still is such a thing, but if there is, and you want quiet, don't get a room facing Carnival Court.

Harrah’s is just fine. Also the casino is more active and funner. Monorail is a joke, if at MGM one heck of a walk to get on, may as well walk 5 more minutes. Stay at Harrah’s is playing at Venitian and Wynn, thank me later. I like Horseshoe best, but I play at Bellagio

It looks like you need to use the search function to find threads not on the first page.

Thanks for any info.

Scroll down, and you'll see this:

No idea why it is "Last 75 Days" by default.

As far as wsop you can add to an established account at any ceaser property cage..

20$ bill for early checkout would work or no? it says check in at 4 but i wont arrive till 11

Huh?
Early checkout is never a problem, but that's not what you're describing.
Seems like you are asking about late checkin. Normally the time given for that means the earliest time you can check in. Sometimes the latest check in time is also given, but there is no way it would be as early as 4pm.
If you're going to be late enough that you're worried they won't hold your reservation, just call them early in the day to ask them to please hold your room until late. 99% chance they'll say yes, and you won't need to bribe anyone to do it.

My bad I meant I’d my checkin is at 4 and I want to get in earlier. Would the 20$ trick work if I say is there any way I can check in earlier

How did that become "I won't arrive until 11"?
Anyway though, I have checked in early lots of times, and occasionally been denied. Never have offered money, I just asked nicely.
A few places may allow it if a fee is paid. But mostly it's up to the employee, and usually they will let you check in early (for free) if there are rooms cleaned and vacant of the standard you have booked.
If no rooms are ready, most hotels are willing to keep your bag there while you go gamble or eat. Generally no fee for that, but a small tip when picking up your bags later is customary.
