2025 WSOP!!
I know itβs early and normally Iβm not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, Iβm itching to go back already!
I
Has anyone tried to rebuy? Do you just go to the wsop+ app, re-register, and it'll show you your new seat assignment right away?
And if you register late, it's the same thing?
Hello everyone, I applied for my Real ID 3 weeks ago and of course I still have not received it yet. I know this is probably unlikely but does anyone know if Iβd be able to use my voided ID, or my printed off temporary ID to enter tournaments? I could bring my birth certificate and Social not sure if that would help though. I am scheduled to leave next Tuesday so starting to ge
Years ago I encountered this scenario in Reno (same state of NV).
I learned that having the hole-punched old card plus the valid paper one was considered the same as having the real deal. The key was that the paper one has to be valid and not expired. They usually expire fast though and once the paper card expires it's not considered acceptable anymore. So if the paper ID is not expired bring both IDs and you should be good.
Of course YMMV as you're ultimately at the whim of whomever is checking your ID.

Thank you for the answer, the paper ID is good until the 15th which covers my time period. Still going to 🙏🏻 the real thing gets here in time.
Sorry if I missed this, but does anybody know where to go for event updates, chip stack counts, and updates on play other than the new WSOP+App? It seems that the main WSOP.com website no longer has event updates or Live coverage. What gives? Do we really have to use our phones to get event information?

The Tamayo effect. Who wants to play against a bunch of solvers? Just kidding (kind of)
I play at many of the rooms and chat with the cash players that probably would have played a $600-$2000 MTT in years past. The consensus is that most of them feel super dead money in a multi-day, and would rather play cash where they can pick up a potential profit and just leave.
The cash action this year should be just as good if not better, however poker as a whole cant really do anything about the fact that there are no results or marketing anymore to make the rec player think they have a chance.
My opinion we will see the devolution of NLHE MTT’s into something like chess *shrug*, it may allow the other games to flourish.

What ever happened to the TV coverage of the Main Event that would stoke enthusiasm? I refrained from buying the sports package on DirectTV and so now I can't watch CBS sports which now covers the WSOP. So yeah, it seems like the thrill is gone or nearly so for the casual rec.
Loosely WSOP related food tip - Flavortown has a new βall you can eat buffetβ M-F from 8-2.
If you donβt have a reservation, prepare to wait 45 minutes. If you do have one, prepare to order your food and wait 45 minutes.
It isnβt a traditional buffet. They have a menu you order two entrees from. This is their first week doing it and they donβt know how to handle the volume so it take forever.
If youβre thinking of doing this right before a tournament or on dinner break, you wonβt have time. It takes forever.
That said, the tonkatsu club sandwich is good. That should be one of your entrees. The chicken with the chicken and waffles is super dry and tough. Donβt get that.

I think they pivoted based on market trends, young computer savvy poker guys are probably playing online and would prefer to watch online and pay for the services like poker go etc.
It might have made them money through subscription services but it dampened the appeal for avg joes.

Soi long lines/waits and so so food? Is the tip to skip this place, that's how I interpret it.
$20 for all you can eat, though, pretty solid deal/value.

CBS sports coverage is piss-poor anyway. I guess WSOP is too cheap to get an ESPN contract, which is funny because their ratings have been tanking. It should be cheaper than before. Maybe Jack Links felt like they weren't getting their money's worth.

I was wondering what the crowds outside that place were doing, because I haven't heard anyone say it was particularly good.
Yes, I am sure people will. They haven't started streaming yet though, first stream for WSOP is tomorrow.
Here is the link to the schedule. (easy to google)

Not sure what the point of your post was. I will watch some of the events towards the end of June, mark that down in your journal.

Where is Flavortown ?

Omaha/8 hand...
I guess live reporting hasn't changed much with either mis-reporting boards/hands or not being able to read a board for what hand is the high hand ... JJ is beaten by the other 2 cards in Ilia's hand and also by the high hand of each of the other players.. JJ was definitely not enough to take the high if the cards here are correct.

There are often errors in reporting this game and other split pot games.
Ate that last year. They ****ed up my order I waited a half hour for (two entrees) and it was not good. Perhaps bland is the word id use and it was like 70 bucks, dont give them your business.
As far as the coverage, you'd think there'd be some super rich guy(s) that play poker that would sponsor the event with their company. But I digress, I dont know enough about it.
