2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
Nice values!
So a standard build through 10 rounds in regular contests is 1-3-5-1.
What do we think is a good 10 round build in superflex? I'm thinking either 2-3-5-0 or 2-3-4-1 if we want to replace a WR with Bowers or McBride.
Getting those first 2 QBs in the first 6 rounds, and then adding a 3rd by round 11 or 12.
Pulled off the Terry/Jayden stack on DK, while also having CD from the 1.07. Lots of value on this team. Just need two from the RB room, but it's definitely not great for week 1 haha.
Jayden, Geno
Hampton, Pollard, Charbs, Blue, Wright, Dobbins, Giddens, JCM
Lamb, Terry, Jennings, Kupp, Aiyuk, Egbuka, Bech, Slayton
Bowers, Theo
I have way too much Aiyuk on DK so far, because he keeps falling to the mid 9th and I refuse to pass on him there.

I personally think 2-4-3-1 or 2-4-4-0 are likely the most optimal when the players hit. I think 3-4-3-0 or 3-4-2-1 is also viable in certain QB rooms, especially if you have 2 elite WRs. But I'm generally pushing TE and hammering RB.
I think the RBs through the first 10 rounds are more valuable than the WRs at almost every spot due to opportunity cost of what's available later at each position.
Here's a slow draft team I'm working on where I just made the 10th round pick.
Nice, I like it. I noticed the SW ranks are heavy WR, and the ETR ranks are more heavy RB early on.
Erik is always going to be heavy WR no matter the format, because his core strategy is zero RB. I think it’s mostly wrong in this format. His rankings definitely carry that bias. I’d trust ETR more for SF.
.5 PPR + only having to start 2 really changes the thesis compared to the standard 1QB start 3 WR format. It’s a tough mental adjustment.
I do think 2-3-5-0 or 2-3-4-1 can be fine, but I generally want to have the same amount or more RBs than WRs through 10.
Can probably also make 3-3-3-1 or 3-3-4-0 work too.
Eliminator.

You have some home run hitters at the back end of you RB room who could come through on one play. Hopefully Hampton gets off to a good start but I think Najee is gonna be annoying. Your receivers could be ridiculous at the end of the year but still good throughout.

I think it's a good balance of floor and ceiling and fits the format.
In theory, elite TE probably isn't as good in the smaller contests, but I also think Bowers can be an above average advance rate piece.

The QB room is nice and a lot of what I've been doing when I don't get an elite.
I like Hunter in the RB room, but I think I probably would have gone different directions on the others with your first 3 RB picks.
The WR room is nice other than Renfrow, who is drawing thin to make the team, let alone to play meaningful stats.
I think Kelce is a bad pick at ADP on DK. But overall, it's a good TE room.

I'm more of a fan of the elite TEs on DK with the full PPR, but just happened to get him past ADP on this one.

SF team. Got sniped on Travis, Strange, and Dyami. Last round came down to do I want a TLaw/Parker stack or a Jameis/Slayton stack.

I love my QB room. I pushed Tua a couple rounds and was still able to get him way past ADP. I figured I could since I had all the dolphin skill players. This was my best stacked team so far. This room has upside and a great floor.
I wish I had another upside rookie RB or two at the end of my squad. I waited probably a tick too long to do that. Obviously I felt great with my top 3. I'll admit I kind of clicked buttons with the last few RB's. I haven't delved deeply into the research yet.
I got Kelce a little past ADP. I've heard that he is back with the trainer who got him ready for the combine. If he goes from 3 to 7 TD's he will be a steal. I think KC will win the West again but it's gonna be a much tougher fight this year. I don't know that they will be able to limit Kelce during the season as much as they have in the past.

I would have grabbed a second starting RB around were you took Jauan. You threw a bunch of darts so it can still work out but it is razor thin. Maybe switching out Golden for a RB would have been the sweet spot.

I might have pushed QB a little too far, but I think it can work if Jayden is a stud. I'm extremely confident that Sanders will be the starter at some point. Now whether or not he's any good is a different story. Then Rudolph and Wilson seem like a solid contingent picks.

I don't disagree he has paths to being productive enough to pay off. But I'd rather get my shares on UD instead of DK, where he's 3 rounds cheaper. I just think the opportunity cost on DK is a lot, especially given what's available at TE later.

Yeah, I definitely have a leak on DK where I push RB too far because I am WR pilled for their scoring format. Clicking Pollard, BRob, Pacheco, etc. over the WRs doesn't feel good in those ranges. I don't want to click Kyren in the 3rd, Mixon in the 4th or Monty in the 6th. But I don't disagree I need at least 2-3 guys per team that have projectable week 1 volume to give my contingent backs time to pay off. This team could look great by week 17, but I also need to get there.

Yeah, I think I prefer a little more invested at both QB and TE. At least Jayden's bye isn't until week 12, so you have time for the other guys to help you avoid a 0. But generally, I think every team should have 2 week 1 projected starters.
