I had reservations when we first went to meet him at his foster home, as he is a pitbull with a huge head. He was 66 pounds at 10 months when we met him. What if he’s ill-tempered? He’s 102 pounds now.
After my wife was on the ground playing with him for a few minutes, she said “We have to get this dog. He just gave me a huge hug.”
I was still apprehensive, but she was right. He is very sweet. Loves other dogs and people. Very obedient and super smart. His favorite place to sleep is on my wife.
I assumed we’d eventually give him a new name as “Clyde” was given to him by the rescue where we got him. But it fit, so Clyde he is.
Pitties are some of the sweetest doggos out there.

Clyde was initially scared of stairs, but now he will hurl himself down them with reckless abandon after a tennis ball.
He has always felt it is his duty to cuddle my wife.
Unfortunately he had a genetic condition where both his ACLs tore. $3,000 for each knee surgery. One in July, and then he immediately tore the other one in November after rehabbing the 1st one. This pic is from after the 1st knee surgery. They initially shaved the wrong leg, so he ended up with his entire back 1/2 shaved. But they left the tail alone.

It was TTA surgery. He had them both done in 2018, when he was about 3 years old. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. You'd never know he was once hobbled the way he runs around with glee now.
A month before he tore the first one he put his face through a window getting too curious about a squirrel. It was a gruesome gash that can still be seen on the left side of his snout. 2018 was not his year. The vet got me for over $7k though.
