Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread
We have the fine dining thread, but everyone needs some good casual places to eat, either on the strip or local. I'm fi
I wasnβt sure if I should ask here or in fine dining thread, but whatever. Does anyone have any suggestions for places, preferably on the strip, that has uni? Not rolls or anything like that, looking for a Japanese style rice bowl with uni.
Paul's alma mater... mad genius...
Note the bolo and the Stetson Open Road, which is how all the cool guys dress.
So if you had to plan a birthday meal, on a weeknight where people are able to meet at 10:30pm, where would you go? Herbs and Rye/Cleaver are options, what other restaurants that are good+ are open at that hour for seating?
Went to Rutba recently and Vegas may have a new Indian food champion. Mount Everest has always been tops for me but this may have surpassed it.
Tikki chaat - 11/10 phenomenal, perfect spice level
Hara bhara chicken - 11/10 phenomenal
Chicken korma - 10/10
Chicken biryani - 9/10
Garlic chili naan - 8/10 (but 9/10 dipped in the korma)
$74 plus tip for all of that. Will def be going back soon, very highly recommend.

Silverlake Ramen for dinner. We were the only table there at 10:30 on a Friday night so thatβs not a great sign for the future but the food was solid and deserving of its 4.7 on Yelp.
Blazing Ramen with black garlic oil - 9.5/10 maybe best broth in Vegas, chashu still a notch behind Ramen Sora. Really great overall
Spicy Tina crispy rice - 8/10
Gyoza - 9/10
Chicken karaage - 7.5/10
$27 per person plus tip for two combo meals and the spicy tuna. Solid value.

Damn @wj94 keeping this thread alive with amazing food pics.
Awesome food pics wj94. Will try to check out that Indian place next time Iβm in town!
wish i could help you Mal, but i come here to follow suggestions not make them
Anyone tried Jipata yet? I think it’s the same owner/chef as Chada Thai and Lamaii, menu style looks similar plus a big wine list. Not many reviews on Yelp yet but it looks top tier.
Matteo’s tonight, great dinner and better than I expected.
Linguini with crab - 9/10. The picture is only half of the dish, they split it for us.
Salmon - 9.5/10 one of the best I’ve had in Vegas
Duck fat potatoes - 9/10
Pistachio cake - 9/10
Really solid all around and 15% discount for locals. Total was $106 plus tip, free with poker comps. Pretty nice price to quality ratio. Highly recommend

My god...
Matteo’s is criminally underrated.
Matteoβs pics were fire.
Went to Pepper Club at English Hotel this weekend, was pretty strong, liked the vibe as well. Would go back.
Miznon is always solid, and free with poker comps. Sorry for eating one of the kabobs before taking the pic but you get the idea. Great char on the lamb kabobs, the pita is perfect and the hummus is massive and could easily feed two people, super creamy and the green pepper sauce adds a nice kick.

I really like bang bar in Cosmo. Momofuko Street food. Decent price point.
Went to BBQ Mexicana in the southwest.

Taco Tuesday Special- $10. Two brisket tacos with rice and beans.
Horchata- $5
The brisket tacos were decent. It was brisket, crispy seasoned potatos, cilantro coleslaw, cheese, chipotle mayo and BBQ sauce. It had some sweetness and mild heat to it. The crispy potatoes added a very nice crunch to the taco.
The rice, beans and horchata were average.
Overall, it was a decent cheap it.

hey i would happily pay ten bucks on dursty thursday if those fat limp brisket tacos even remotely achieved my definitions of 'average' and 'decent' mexican food.

I havenβt been to BBQ Mexicana but the burnt ends burrito when Mike Minor was the original chef is one of the best burritos Iβve ever had. Not sure how the current version compares but I do remember it being epic.
