Why can't the US Government gather up the people they think are illegal aliens and
1 release those who are actual US citizens (with a my bad apology)
2 deport those with criminal records that outline serious crimes
3 have the rest of the people start the application process for citizenship and resource the gov to handle and fast-track the screening and approval process to citizenship.
In item 3 it is not going to cause an influx in people coming to the US. It would only deal with those people already in the US. And those people are a key part of the economy and many other aspects of the US as a country.

How do you determine who you think are undocumented? You need probable cause to detain someone, you can't just pick up brown people because they might be undocumented.
As for the rest of your questions, the cruelty is the point. They are either too ignorant or care so much about the cruelty that they are able to ignore their contributions to society for that to matter.

item 3 was attempted during the Reagan administration (biggest amnisty for illegals in american history). Illegals kept pouring in anyway en masse after that.
So even if it could have looked decent on paper as an idea, it was attempted and it was a catastrophic failure for people who don't want mass unfiltered unlimited immigration (it's the main reason california is blue today for example)

It sure has driven down border crossings to its lowest level and its what the folks voted for.

I’m probably going to attend one today. I saw videos of people chanting and waving flags. No one was even causing damage to any buildings, which I know Luciom is big on.
Unrest now spreading to Atlanta and other cities.
I posted just for the footage, didn't check the account. I'm neither right nor left wing. Symapthise/disagree with both on certain issues.
I posted there to correct a journalist's errors on a murder case a while back, but that was the first time in nearly two years. When I did post regularly it was mainly on Horror flicks and the occasional true crime case. It's still handy for footage on current issues, such as the ongoing unrest. Other than that it's a bit of a cesspool.
