Hi - anyone know whether you get blinded off if you pre-register on the app but haven’t hit “sit-in” yet?

My understanding is you aren’t getting blinded out as a seat hasn’t been officially assigned to you yet.

But I could be wrong.

Leave in 48 hours! Too excited, like as someone mentioned like a kid at Christmas. My gf is daily making fun of me even tho she loves vegas and is going (she doesn't play).

Before I leave i want to absolutely clarify the sign up process. Anyone who is kind enough to read this and comment I greatly appreciate it.

So when I get to Paris, I need to have first signed in to the app, then I need to go through verification line with my drivers license (American but bringing passport just in case because my address on my DL is not my current) and a credit card as might use if I decide to.

Get that verified, then I can go over to the cash line if I want to pay in cash or even credit card (I prefer to pay in person) and ill be signed up. But I ultimately will have all my info on my app? Or once im verified basically the cashier will just sign me up with my phone on the app which I could have already done? Basically, there are no tickets like last year that tell you your seat number and all that.

App, verified, cashier, pay, log into app and your seat number should be there? Thank you for those that have been through it. Let's do this fellas!

All of that aligns with my experience except in order to have seat number you need to hit “sit in” in the app - hence my question above. Good luck!

Ah **** just realised i've forgot to apply for ITIN, too late now so what happens if I cash in a tourny, they just keep the tax until I apply for one?

Think I remember someone saying Horseshoe/Paris doesn't help you with ITINs but other casinos do?

This seems generally correct.

1. Get verified with an ID and credit card.
2. At this point you can register for events through the app itself on your CC, requiring no desk visit.
3. At this point you can also just go to the cage and pay cash with your ID/money like any other WSOP year. However, you will not receive a physical ticket with a seat assignment. Your seat assignment will be provided through the app. For me it has been available approximately 1 hour ahead of event start time.

The "sit in" element confuses me because I received my seat assignment for yesterday's $800 without clicking that button as far as I can recall. I don't feel comfortable explaining how the process works if you register ahead of time, but don't want to sit down until a few hours into the event. I haven't done that myself.

You can’t verify your CC until you use it to register for an event. That way they have it in their system and will have something to verify.

If planning on using cash to register, you would still need to verify ID. My brother tried verifying ID and CC at the same time because he wasn’t sure if he was going to use cash or CC. They wouldn’t let him do it unless he first made a purchase with CC.

He ended up loading his PP using his CC and paying with that. No fees and no PP verification that way, too.

You only get blinded off if you hit sit in before the tournament starts is my understanding. Your stack will already be on the table and you will be blinded off.

If you late reg and hit sit in your stack stays in the well until you actually sit down. In fact, pro tip, if you late reg and show up to your table and you would be the big blind, you are allowed to wait until the blinds pass. This is not an angle. It is in the rules.

This sounds right.

My stack was blinded off when I got to the table late for Colossus because I registered pre-tournament.

For the $800 Deepstack I jumped in level three, buying/registering then, and my stack was not put out until I got to the table.

The cage in the big room at the Horseshoe is pretty much just for verification (at least it was when I was verified a week ago). They wouldn't take cash deposits though.

Paris takes cash deposits once you're verified, but I'm not sure if they can also verify. The lines aren't well marked as to what they can and cannot due.

Anyway, my main tip would be to set up everything you can before you get there. Link your rewards card through the app. It should say 2 of 3 in the top right corner, with the only remaining step being verification.

If you plan to pay by CC make sure to link your card and "purchase" a future ticket before you get there. It should allow you to purchase a ticket but your seat won't be visible as you are still not verified. Then they can quickly verify your identity and credit card and approve the transaction once you get there. Once it's all verified it's easy to quickly purchase future tickets at any time with just a few taps.

Anyway have a great time and run pure!

Williams at the final table of the Colossus. If he's viewing this thread, I appreciate him letting me watch the fights on his phone Saturday night.

We finished day 1 at the same table. Nice to see he made it all the way!

Hi - anyone know whether you get blinded off if you pre-register on the app but haven’t hit “sit-in” yet?

Your chips are not in play until you arrive at the table and show the dealer your seat assignment and your ID/passport to verify you are you and at the right table/seat.
*This is the case if you do not click register before the tourney begins. I can't speak to the situation of clicking register before initial cards in the air, start of tourney.

You get blinded out if you registered and have been assigned a seat at the beginning of the tournament regardless of when you show up. Had many people act surprised that they lost some blinds when they waltzed in after a few orbits had passed.

Yeah this happened to me after I won a satellite seat. WSOP had advertised something about how stacks would not be in play until you arrived, and if you were late past a certain point they would refund your account.

So I came like an hour late for the tournament I had won a ticket to thinking they would assign my chips when I arrived, and something like 1/6 of my chips had already been blinded off.

I asked the floor about it, and he said the stacks would only not be put in play if you registered AFTER the event had started.

They're very inconsistent with a lot of stuff though so I have no idea if this is the official policy.

Will they refund the cc if you end up not playing? I wanted to set it up first and then decide what I’m playing as I haven’t 100% committed. Can you register for a tournament at all if you haven’t done the Id verification yet?

Yes, you can register prior to ID verification. In fact, wsop recommends it. You just won't be able to get a table/seat assignment or 'sit in' for the event until after you're verified.

And yes, refunds will be issued as long as the event hasn't started. Less than 24 hrs before start time, go to wsop-Paris cage to request refund. More than 24 hrs before start time, you should be able to cancel in the app. Of course, if you paid cash you'll still need to visit the cage to retrieve it.

Here's a copy/paste of the refund process from the wsop registration page:

Refunds
Anyone who registers for an event online but chooses not to play may get a refund at the WSOP registration cage on-site in the Paris Convention Center up to the start time for the event. These registrations can also be canceled online 24 hours prior to the start time for the event. Participants, who don't end up travelling out to an event they online registered for, should email Andy Rich at [email protected] to request the necessary paperwork to receive a refund. This request must be done in advance of the event's start time. Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment for the buy-in amount only. Any processing fees incurred for the transaction will not be refunded.

Awesome that’s very helpful thanks

Refunds

Just tried to purchase/get a 10k refund through the app/Luxon Pay and it worked almost instantly Which is great, as I will await until the day I get there to buy into the PLO Championship, just in case (of the low equity likelihood) I get turned down by the USA border. Speaking of which, question for international players : how has been your experience this year crossing the border? Easy-peasy as usual or with a bit more resistance/investigation???

The Monster Stack - the best value tournament in the season IMO - is underway today. I'll be playing Flight D on Saturday, but I'll be very curious to see what the field turns out to be this year. They've added a 4th flight to this event, just a year after adding a 3rd, but they also eliminated the 1 same-day re-entry per flight they used to allow. That seems like a curious decision. In the year that they add the WSOP+ app, which seems to make re-entering a whole lot easier than it used to be, they're turning away that extra revenue? Why?

by Clavain m

...they're turning away that extra revenue? Why?

I'd like to think it's because they've heard the feedback from (mostly rec) players who prefer freezeout or limited re-entry events.

That's probably not the reason, but it would account for additional flights being added to (hopefully) recoup the revenue lost from the limitation.

I think it’s a compromise. This used to be a freezeout event.

Count me as one of the many who were skeptical about this app before I came to WSOP this year, but as I board my flight home after I got wrecked at the WSOP count me in the many of players who love the app.

FYI - I downloaded and set up an account and linked my app to my ceasers rewards before I came to Vegas (it took maybe 5 minutes). When I got there I went to the main cage in Paris and verified with my drivers license and ceasers reward card. From there I would register for tourneys from the app using my PayPal account (which is hooked up to my checking account) and it was too damn easy and quick. In most cases I would have a table and seat number for my 2nd bullet within 2 minutes of getting knocked out.

15ish bullets fired and my total time waiting in line was probably 25 minutes and 23 of those minutes I was waiting on a damn min cash for a daily. No more long lines after buying in to go to the late registration table. No more having to walk to the cage to buy-in. No more carrying around too much cash/chips.

Being able to see payouts, blind levels, the clock (especially important during breaks), average stack, when late registration closes, who is at your table, how many players are left in your tourney, how many players are left in other tourneys and see what tourneys are currently open are all amazing perks.

After saying how good the app is I have to say the dealing was incredible bad. There were some good and decent dealers but the amount of dealers I saw who didn’t know the most basic rules (when to deal a flop, how to make change in the pot, what hand won at showdown, or how to deal with multiple all-ins and side pots, etc.) was shocking.

Hello! Sent an email to WSOP+ app helpdesk email asking some questions; will post answers once received.

1. Is there a means to prevent display of my name to other players at my table/event? I understand that the dealer needs to be able to see my name to verify seating. Can my nickname be displayed instead? Making my name visible to players at my table is an uncomfortable privacy issue; it gives players easy online access to my hendonmob history, press coverage in prior tournament posts, and even my home address!

2. If I have a sufficient balance in my Paris Tournament Account, can I re-enter an event AND get my new seat assignment solely through the app (without having to wait in any line or go to any window or talk to any WSOP staff)?

3a. If I have registered for an event and need to cancel my registration less than 24 hours before start time, can I do this directly through the app, or do I need to follow some other procedure?

3b. If I had to cancel my registration before start time for Day 1x of a tournament because I made it to Day 2 of a different tournament on the prior day, can I re-register for the Day1 of the tournament I cancelled from if I bust out from the earlier tournament before registration endtime for the new tourney? In other words, does canceling an event registration prevent me from re-registering for the event?

Any of you know any of the answers? Thanks in advance!
