Initial reaction within the next 2 weeks seems a long time to just let a conflict drag out when he could end it unless this is a negotiating tactic and knows Iran is about to surrender so does not need to intervene or he is happy to just let Israel keep doing what they are doing because they have in large part crippled Iran's missile attacks

It wasn't major. You do get altercations outside embassies, and this one seems to have been between pro- and anti-monarchy (Pahlavi) people.
As for the UK doing nothing, the Met arrested seven on suspicion of GBH. (Don't know on which side, as the Met don't distinguish. If they're troublemakers, they're troublemakers.)

Everything seems pretty contained. Seems the most likely near term future is Israel keeps degrading the Iranian war machine, Iran keeps attacking Israel civilians with minimal casualties because all the civilians go into bomb shelters, and there isn’t much escalation.
And as long as this equilibrium holds it seems +EV for Trump politically just to let things go on, as opposed to getting involved and having political fallout.
the argument against attacking iran being bad is north Korea now has nuclear weapons but that's totally fine its their right guys
