What did you have in mind?
IÂ’d buy up to $300 of your action across a session for any poker game (but youÂ’d also have to have at least 50% of yourself).. so if you run up first buy in it would be a larger percentage, and if you rebuy it would become a smaller percentage (you buy in for $1000 lose it reload to $1000 walk away with $500 Id have $75). Or we could swap $300 across an entire session (you do the above and I buy in for $600 lose it reload $600 walk away with $300 weÂ’d have $75 of eachother so would cancel). Or we could do both.

My hearing today was very unusual but we won the desired outcome which was a postponement.
Ram really hot at plo winning over $4k there, dsKK and dsAAQQJ and AQQ won multiway all ins. Even won a few hundred at mix. Got to bed early so as not to mess up my sleep schedule too badly.
A clip from cross-examination the other day where the issue was whether the client should have a hearing that day due to the risk posed by her medical issues:

Q: Dr., her blood pressure is not in an acute stage correct, it is not at least 180?
A: I don't know, I'm just a psychiatrist.
Q: your testimony is that you don't know the answer to a basic question on blood pressure?
A: Yes.
Q: doctor, you went to medical school right?
A: Yes.
Q: You learned about the cardiovascular system?
A: Yes.
Q: you learned about blood pressure?
A: yes.
Q: her blood pressure is not in an acute stage?
A: no, it's not hypertensive urgency.
Q: thank you.

Well I started to laugh during the hearing when the doc testified that the client walked into her neighbor’s shower that morning and said she’d teach him how to masturbate in order to to cleanse him. You hear it all in this line of work and it’s never a dull moment.
Last night was fine, won at plo and mix and broke about even at hold em. I was in a good mood and I liked some of the music playing so I danced along a little.
I got a new match in tinder I was interested in and of course it went nowhere.
Enjoying lattes now, might try it over ice. Hot outside!

I was doing research for work today and came across a case where the plaintiff sued a drug manufacturer due to the addictive side effects of the psychiatric medication they took. They claimed they had gambling and sexual addiction issues because of the meds. Reminded me of similar research I had come across some months ago.
The theory is that the medication reduces dopamine levels and the gambling increases them as a way to counteract the medication. That would certainly explain a lot with respect to my poker “career” which started not long after I began taking my medication.

Lost with a set of queens to straight at 2/5, made it back and then some at plo running $1500 there. Main one was AA862ds got it in against someone who threatened to slap me a while ago and the Justice was palpable when I scooped his will smith a$$.
Won some last night, decided I am going to stick with plo for the rest of the year as much as possible as my edge in that game is much bigger compared to other games. Or at least I’m running better at plo lately.

Did you know that us regs have organized a WhatsApp group to review hands that you've played in order to develop a generalized strat for playing against you? You were pulling so much money out of the no limit games that you really left us with no choice. It seems like you are years, maybe decades, ahead of the rest of us.

Had no idea! I consider myself a decent player but I wouldn't have thought anyone believed they needed to study together to beat me in particular. Hold 'em has taken a back seat for a while now for me to plo and mixed games and unlike many players my days are not spent in gto wizard, so I do think I have fallen behind somewhat in two card poker.
Thank you for the vote of confidence though, the past few weeks have been challenging so it's nice to hear people still think I am competitive at hold 'em.

Maybe that’s part of your edge. From what I understand, gto doesn’t apply well to lower stakes like 1/3, since the competition generally isn’t advanced enough for it to be effective.
Of course as soon as I say IÂ’m focusing on plo this year run terribly against the fish in all the big pots last night lol. At least the market is back to around all time highs.
Slow day today just watching a hearing I helped prepare for and not much else.

Your blog inspired me to try my hand at returning to semi pro poker 15 years after black Friday ended my pro career. Today that dream ended with a 4k plo loss, $200 at a time. At least the fish will be loaded next time you play 😀
I respect you for making this work as a job, it is not easy. From an emotional perspective I think it is tough dealing with the swings, the casino environment, miserable people etc. A lot of the regs at plo seem unhappy all the time. From a life perspective I suspect it -ev for a lot of people.
