Israel / Iran thread
Seems like this conflict is not going to end anytime soon and is worthy of its own thread.
I dont know the truth of these 3 or any of them. the point is that when the Western media says they were "merely accused of spying" that is a massive lie of omission.
Wow you missed the joke.
For years it has been said that Iran was weeks away and after the bombing it was reported that it set them back a few months. The joke is they were never only weeks away and adding a few months to their timeline didn't do ****. I can't believe I have to explain it.
It will only ever be a clown show at 1600.
The timeline has been set back several years. You people fell for the "few months" misinformation. This was a brilliantly executed mission. Even the Iranians are admitting the severity of the damage.
I used to have Victor on ignore for obvious reasons but heβs actually the most amusing aspect of these forums. Heβs like my personal court jester. Dance for me.
How is he amusing when he says the same thing over and over? He has the same schtick over and over. He is trolling you all. I'm shocked people attempt to debate him. I would never put anybody on ignore. I do just scroll over his nonsense. If he amuses you be my guest and have fun. I think he is a waste of time. I don't see what any of you get out of this.

To be fair, heβs mostly trolling himself by wasting hours of his day on here posting to people who think heβs a joke.
The old strategy of inspections and oversight resulted in Iran not having a nuke.
If the goal is to get them not to have a nuke, then why pivot to a strategy of sneak attacking them and murdering people?
Why not make some concessions and lift a few sanctions in the negotiations?
Why is the US/Israel strategy always to attempt to get their way through force/deterrence/technological capability?
Given the current fiscal situation (interest payments on the national debt > than the military budget, debt-to-GDP ratio at 1946 levels without a sustained hot war, no resolution in sight), it's clear that the US fell into a trap after 9/11 and did the only thing that could potentially bring down a country as powerful as they were at the time.
Why continue to keep falling into the trap?
Because inspections and oversight only go so far with a bad faith actor who is determined to develop nukes.
I wonder if Pompeus asked himself why the Iranian proxies elected to use force against Israel on October 7th. Do you think if October 7th never transpired Israel and the US would still be bombing Iran today?
This guy has to be trolling.
You guys realize there are better places to troll than a defunct poker forum, right?

I actually think there was an ulterior motive to provoke a limited war with Iran, neutralize their proxies, and defang them enough to pursue meaningful peace in the Arab world. On top of destroying their nuclear weapon program (which may or may not have happened).
It seems pretty clear Iran is the biggest destabilizing force and obstacle to peace in the region, and everywhere they lose influence, peace and stability improves immediately. No one in the Arab world is shedding any tears over seeing Iran's influence being greatly reduced over the last 1.5 years.
Iran has been pushed out of Syria and Lebanon for less than a year, and massive strides are already being taken towards peace and normalization. And it has been a long rode with plenty of actions of questionable morality, but it finally seems Iran has been pushed out of Gaza enough to wind the war down there too.
It is just too bad we (really Israel has been doing all the heavy lifting) couldn't neutralize them in Yemen, Iraq and have the govt itself fall. So these nations could begin the process towards peace and stability too.
But it is what it is.
the war isnt over but Iran still exists as as sovereign state so they won this round.lol at airspace violated. so was Israel's. as for the spies, they were sentenced in a court of law. and those spies caused massive amount of death in Iran. obv as a Western liberal, I am opposed to the death penalty but I am not going to tell Iran how to run its country while it faces a gen
I take it this is more Hasbara?
Iran definitely "won this round"? π

According to the NY Times, Iran supported Oct 07 in principal but didn't want it to go ahead at the time as they claimed more time was needed.

So Hamas dragged Iran into a major conflict that it knew it couldnβt handle and the other proxies attacked without hesitation. I guess thatβs one of the big risks of relying on radical Islamist terrorist proxies. They arenβt known for their strategic acumen.
I wonder if Hamas/Iran/Hezbollah actually regret Oct 07 in hindsight, deep down. I don't think they expected such an outcome.
If that's true, I can see why the American people do not support these strikes as Trump has run for president three times and certainly never made this clear.
I think the American people are largely ambivalent regarding the strikes. For good or bad, the Israel/Iran conflict is already fading from the news cycle.

You MAGATs might be (are) the stupidest mother ****ers on earth....
Most of the strong opposition to the strikes seemed to come from hardcore “anti-war” MAGA like MTG and the typical Twitter/tiktok leftist crowd who is also intent on pushing the narrative that Israel is dragging the US into WW3. Most of it on both sides is sensationalism aimed at riling up the dumbest of the dumb.
It is amusing that people like MTG thought Trump actually gave a **** about her.
It's good to see ICE going after the Iranians in this country. There are already many sleeper cells. Iran would love nothing more than to hit us in the homeland.
See something say something folks.

Imagine posting that but not reading the article
In a Truth Social post Friday night, Trump said he βnever heard of this ridiculous idea,β adding that it was βjust another HOAX put out by the Fake News.β

Hamas isn't in the same category as Hez or Iran.
Hamas is in part, fighting for themselves, while Iran gets to leverage them to pad their wallets.
Who knows if Hamas, as a whole, regrets oct 7th but their living conditions before that clearly wasn't something to celebrate. But Iran want's and needs every one of the 100k dead Palestinians to keep the octogenarians in power for another six months by feeding demand for their oil supply. Which alone makes them the #1 shithole country on earth, at least for 2025.
But the ceasefire is doing fairly well, because once the pawns die off, the cowards realize really quick that it isn't actually worth a fight when you might actually have to get your own hands dirty for something that isn't actually worht your own life as opposed to the lives of someone else.
I like how it’s slowly become the norm to accept that there have been 100k killings in Gaza when people were adamant it was 40,000. In a few months or another year the new norm will be 300,000.
