2024-2025 EPL Preview
Man City have set another record with 115 charges of financial shenanigans and also managed to win
Partey learning real fast why he should have taken that paycut
Basically that's the season done already because of the effect an ongoing court case will have on players who played alongside him for 5 years and the atmosphere at away games. Doubt the fans will be too enthused by the club for a while either.
Worst ever Arsenal signing.
Hard not to be sickened by how the club has handled the whole situation for the entire time. Gross. **** him.
Arsenal statement on Thomas Partey: “The player’s contract ended on June 30. Due to ongoing legal proceedings the club is unable to comment on the case”.
lol
Maybe he is innocent like Diddy
Legally he was entitled to privacy and the club suspending him would be construed as a breach of that privacy, which is why they decided not to go down that route, for better or worse. You can certainly argue that they should have suspended him anyway, but there’s much hindsight there.
The indisputable problem is if the widely reported contract renewal talks took place, which no fan would think should have even been considered. Gross. If those happened then someone needs to be sacked.
Madueke to Arsenal. This Chelsea signing will surely work out.
Eze / Gyokeres / Madueke and that's a decent summer for our front line.
I would say the pre season game I was at today was a twelve goal thriller, but given we only scored three of them that would be a lie

Iβm not a lawyer but the club can suspend him and not tell anyone or suspend him and not say why. That doesnβt breach his privacy.
Watch us sign GyΓΆkeres now to put a muzzle on the Partey rapist things
It is completely indefensible. I found it weird at the time that no action was taken. Now that he is out of contract and immediately charged is more than just peculiar timing imo.

That's not right. Of course they can suspend him but he can sue, according to a lawyer I chat with.
(Not saying the club shouldn't have gone down this route but when the board is mainly lawyers any question of what's morally right goes out of the window, unfortunately).
Zubi finally announced.
The first Gyokeres banger at the Emirates followed by the trademark celebration is going to hit like crack

If you suspend him and donβt say why, how have you breached his privacy?
guessing there's a lot of stuff they could have done; suspension with or without pay, release him, who knows what else. instead they decided to stand by a rapist, glgl with that going forward.
i like how how the cops waited for his contract to expire before pressing charges, even though he was arrested in 2022. what a joke
Lol City, run your players into the ground all summer so they can get beaten by some retirees from the desert.
As a Cherki/Lyon fan, I've decided to follow City now b/c my own club is in shambles.
I have a feeling Pep is gonna be super frustrating. The Cherki/Haaland combo looked sick, but we only got like 20 min. of it total. That Al-Hilol match is probably over by halftime is Pep just starts Erl/Cherki/Foden. Instead he FPS's himself out of the tourney.
This dumbass is gonna be trotting his old faves Bernardo and Gundogan out there all the time, isn't he?
They also kept playing him lol - which they didnt have to do.
Obvious that they didnt suspend him at least in large part because he's good at football and could contribute on the pitch, which pretty much every club would do obvs - expensive asset.
Everton had no money and suspended our best player on full pay until his contract ran out and he had all charges dropped in the end.
I'm sure Arsenal could of done the same.
He could quite reasonably argue in court that the club suspending him without a reason amounts to confirming the widespread rumours about him.
Again, I’m not trying to justify the way it was handled but trying to understand how the lawyers who run the club would have thought.
I am sure we are well protected legally.
I am also sure that this has been a real dent on all the value talk that is surrounding the Arsenal football brand. Although they are still holding onto the visit Rwanda thing so that may have gone out the window completely with all the pragmatism.
Talk and PR is all it was. Yank owners dgaf about values or the community or fans feelings.
Big lesson for them now but will they learn? A mea culpa at some point would be a start, even if only after the trial.
I see more chance of Lamine Yamal joining ManU this summer than Arsenal taking any responsibility here.
Even the official statement is full legal speak. They will say no comment due to this or that. Lego Pep will say that he is not our player anymore and it is up to the authorities.
After trial in guilty or innocent verdict = rape bad, obviously we would not have played a convicted rapist.
Something along these lines
