I left out a few less-known bracelet winners, but this is a good starting point.
Lots of fun sweats out there and interesting final table permutations.
It’s UNREAL how long these Kassouf hands take. This AA v 99 has gone on for like 14 minutes.
Everyone’s just happy to take a break?

tbf in all honesty I was glued to the stream. way better than watching chidwick and haxton gto the **** out of everybody.
And also in honesty I think a lot of the time the other players are glad of hands taking a long time. Either for getting them to the next payjump purposes or at this point just getting to the end of the day. The players with stacks running over the table will hate it though.

I guess. Iβm a Kabrhel fan so I get itβ¦ But itβs just the same phrases over and over and over.
And Kabrhel at least smiles and almost laughs at himself whereas Kassouf is just non stop aggravating
lol Kassouf raised a short stack probably committed big blind with 32o and hit a six high straight

Iβm seeing stuff Iβve never seen before, know heβs asking the crowd if he should call an all in

Yeah Kabrhel I root for (and have since the high roller where the gto boys threw toys out pram and claimed he was marking cards a couple of years ago). Kassouf is a villian but both make for a good stream imo.

The status of my Main Event sweat going into day 6:

I have $370k in the bank and need $430k from my two survivors to win, which means I'll probably need one of them to finish in the top 26-35. I expect the dream to die today, though I might have about a 20% chance to get over the line.
It's a terrible bet to make, underscoring the top-heavy payouts in tournaments and the reality that most of a tournament player's ROI is buried in the huge cashes at the end of the rainbow. That being said, it's been fun to sweat and I got to see a lot of my players on the stream at one point or another. I will be waving the foam finger for Colin Robinson and Francis Anderson today until I see them on the busted list.
It is quite easy to pick 100 players who have a combined true ROI >= 50% in the main event, but that isn't what the bet is about. In 2023 (and beyond?) you are picking ~1% of the total field and to win the bet you pretty much need one of your players to reach the top ~.1% (picking a FTer) or have multiple players in the top ~.2% (picking >=2 of the top 18) which is a ridiculou
This is what I wrote a couple years ago in Limon's thread about betting 100 players in the main at 1.5 markup at -100, 2.0, or 1/1 depending on which odds system you use.
For the bet to be "fair" for the bettor it needs to pay out > 1:1 with tiered payouts for the amount won over $0 or for the number of players chosen to be significantly higher than 100/~1% of the field.
Feature tables today should beβ¦
- the table with Esther Taylor and Leo Margets
- The Grinderβs table
- Table with top 2 stacks, Schulze and Power and with new character Tajiou

It's a terrible bet at 1:1. I am over-represented in the field, starting with 50/9735 entrants (0.51%) and current sitting on 2/202 (0.99%). Still, I am a pretty big dog to win. There's no upside to the bet. I'm not sure what would be a fair price on the bet, but it has to be well over 1:1 like you said.
Gregor Sverko (currently sitting on 2 million chips) was selling on PokerStake for I think 1.5-1.6 before the tournament. It makes sense to pay that for great players because you can win piles if they run super deep, but this type of team bet with no upside is a huge long-term loser. You lose most of the time and then every once in a while you double your money. It's like playing a tournament where you can only min cash or bust.

Kabrhel can get Kassouf like at times though. Iβve seen several instances where he never stops even when itβs very clear his opponent isnβt enjoying it whatsoever. Iβm talking before the attention of the WSOP this year.

I'm somewhat impressed that the the two players you picked who are still alive are people I've never heard of.

Nothing wrong with making a bet for entertainment, not everything has to be about EV!
Would like to do this kind of thing myself next year
Congrats to Nick Schulman, fully deserved.
Can't argue with the pick, but they need to start letting in more than 1 person per year. It's an asinine setup.
SevenHigh is out
but Celine Dion's kid, Greg Merson, that other annoying guy, and Michael Mizrachi still in it!
Major props to the red haired dealer and the TD for calling douche Kassouff's hand dead there
