Daniel Negreanu's very own containment thread. All things Danny go here
how bad must he be when a girl falls asleep while making out and snores right after?
life fish..... food arrived but didn
I watched today to see what he says about Kassouf and it really is hilarious that he’s a prisoner to the hotel, because he “doesn’t wanna get Amanda sick”.
He wants to go home wants to see the dogs, sleep in his own bed etc… But he’ll stay for night 8 because his wife is a hypochondriac.
… While being around thousands of people daily up close and personal. It’s great
Full cuck mode, I wonder if Amanda's boyfriend is spending the week too
lol and if he went home there would be posts about him being a terrible husband
I’m sure he misses the dogs but is just fine chilling and not dealing with commute
17th of 27, 82 places pay, in $10K 6-max.
Kind of obvious why Amanda needs a boyfriend.
It's definitely weird that within 60 seconds of them interacting with each other, you know the relationship isn't real.
Hope he takes down the 6-max for the story. He's had a pretty good summer overall
Pretty impressive
10K six max is a tough field. Not bad for something that’s not his jam
I mentioned this before, but as someone that has played with Dnegs several times in both NLHE and PLO events, his holdem game >>>>> his plo game, even if he does not realize it/variance has been kinder to him in the 4 card game. And yup, 6 handed 10k is a tough as nails field
He’s chipping up a little bit, into 10th with 14 left I believe

If he's just shipping any 4 cards in preflop against another hand, usually the equities are pretty close, so he's mostly flipping or close to it, rather than running into spots in hold em where you're crushed in an 80/20 or 70/30 spot.
Most hand matchups in PLO if we're talking preflop are going to be 43/57 or 45/55 in my experience. There will be some instances where someone can have 65%, but those are far fewer, and very rare to break 70% except in some ridiculous spots.
I think the final table of 6 is tomorrow, so they should have time to set it up. Not at all certain Negreanu makes it.
No comments from haters for the last day or two! Not sure why???

This common way of thinking is why PLO tournaments are so amazing in this day and age
I'm using it to point out that Dnegs may be on the right side of variance because he's getting into spots that are less skill-focused by getting stacks in pre, than actually playing post-flop in PLO where equities change drastically.
Given the small sample size of his live PLO play, it's certainly plausible that is a bigger impact to him right now, but he's attributing it to PLO being "his jam" because he's running well in relative coinflips, while not playing PLO at the level he believes he is.

Gotcha. Yes, variance in PLO can be misleading, which is why I definitely agree with this thread that (almost) every PLO player mistakenly believes that they are MUCH MUCHER better then they actually are and why the great game of Omaha is the best ever, so healthy and that most absolutely suck at it without knowing
He may do well playing short stacked PLO not caring that much if he busts out and is good with reads. Playing aggressively in ICM situations, etc., running over players trying to ladder up. He may not play PLO well technically, but his tournament results seem to be good.
He is better at mixed games tournaments than NLHE/PLO, but I am not convinced he is worse at PLO than NLHE tournaments, even if some of his play seems bad.

He is actually EXTREMELY worse at PLO than NLHE, but is unaware of it/lacks PLO fundamentals to an eye popping degree.
edit : am leaving this thread. Comments like the above by someone that has most likely played with Dnegs, probably has never played high stakes in his life, yet comments as if he is in the know, are kind of boring. And tiresome. This thread is a waste of time and I have never watched Dnegs Vlogs, so... adios fools!!!

I am not an expert on all of this and neither are you or most of the people posting.
I have played at tables with DN, back when he was considered a dominant tournament player.
I don't play much PLO and am not an expert on it. I am familiar with DN's style and have watched videos of PLO final tables, including those with DN.
I may be speculating and offbase, but playing a game well technically in cash game is different from playing well late in tournaments, very short stacked and with ICM issues.
In these tournaments, there won't be that many PLO tournament experts. Rather mostly PLO cash players and tournament player who know PLO (like DN).
Just busted 10th
Gg sir
