Something tells me that they are going to approve the Jay Z proposal for Times Square.. just a feeling.
But the biggest question is how many years will it be before I can sit at my first poker table in NYC or Queens??
I would like this one the most, but I don't see it. There is too much opposition. It doesn't have the people in it's corner it needs to have to make the push.
Still would be shocked if Citi Field didn't get the 3rd license

I dont think adding a casino anywhere will make traffic worse, maaaaaybe the bronx location because its a little bit of a deadzone compared to pretty much any other spot tryna get a license

Some pondering:
1. I wonder if a full fledged casino in Times Square would make the area:
A) Safer
B) Less Safe
C) Remain the same
And
2. I wonder with a casino next to Citi Field how much of a traffic headache it would create.
For gamblers/poker players times square would be amazing
After a minimum 4 year wait after approval with likely more delays til the casino is operational.
Not for nothing, the four year out opening date for Caesar’s is the earliest open date in any of the proposals besides Resorts World and Empire City
But wouldn't RW open within 6-8 months?

I can see arguments for both.
Having poker in Manhttan could potentially be very advantageous (mostly because it would be in Midtown) but I personally am not much of a fan of Times Square. I also have some concerns over safety in the area once they get going. Could Caesars have a superbly run poker room? I'm not sure.
Mets owner "Uncle" Steve Cohen has proposed a casino and entertainment complex called "Metropolitan Park" adjacent to the stadium in Queens, with Hard Rock having the casino. I've read that he is also a fan of poker, so that may help in having a great poker room. There would be a stream of customers to the casino from Citi Field during baseball season, and also those going to Metropolitan Park year-round. It might create a traffic nightmare in Queens or it might just be an added annoyance. It would still be accessible from Manhattan via the 7 line.

Traffic is going to be horrific at either location, but it’s already bad at either location.
The increase in crime will be similar at either location, but crime from casinos is largely overstated, I don’t expect much of a change in crime at either location. They’re also both relatively safe areas, regardless of what many say lol.
Citi field will be a better overall experience or whatever. The amenities, the park, etc .
Time square is the better choice for poker potential, and for the city. Better for poker because tourists, wall streeters, there are a bunch of high income people who will play in time square who aren’t going to make the trip out to queens anywhere near as often. And better for the city because it will capture the most tourist dollars of any proposal, so it’s a littttttle bit less of a just a drain on New Yorkers

Times Square is better for poker. Citi Field is better for the city
I personally don't think Caesars will get the 4 out of 6 votes it needs to make it to the next stage of the process, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong.
If they do, you'd have to think it's the favorite because of how much tax revenue it would generate
I like the idea of Times Square because an NYC circuit event would be amazing. From a sheer real estate cost per sq ft perspective though the Citi option would be far more likely to dedicate space to a large poker room.
