New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

As someone without either in their neighborhood, I love In-N-Out but I would love to try me some Dick's!
Greasy fries and burgers are right in my wheelhouse. That's one of the reasons I disagree with most people about In-N-Out's fries. They will undercook 'em to order--that doesn't make them particularly greasy but it does make them limp which is how I prefer them even if I can't get the excessive grease that I grew up with. I also don't think I ever had a vegetable other than an onion and a rare tomato slice on a burger until I was in my mid-20's so fresh veggies is nbd to me.
Interesting idea to try InO fries lightly fried. I've tried them well done as I've seen recommended many times, and while that does improve them a bit compared to their basic version, they still have that weird dry cardboardy texture I've never had with any other fry, and puts them dead last on my fry list.
I'll try light-fry next time I'm in CA. For science.
Not exactly (or even a little) FF, but I gotta throw a shoutout to Outback Steakhouse (delivered via GrubDash) for their "Tasmanian Chili" (ordered no green onions, of course). Cup for $6, "crock" for $9 (got two meals out of it). Licking the bowl clean now. Texas style red chili, no beans, nice chunks of tender beef, very flavorful, medium (IMO) spicy. An perfect example of the style, IMO.
Got the Tuesday drop from Taco Bell and decided to make a feast out of it by trying the new $3 steak burritos. They were ... fine? Was not wowed by either and I think I'd stick with the cheesy double beef burrito as the best value burrito.
I'll soon be heading out for my TB drop quesadilla.
Regarding Outback, I think a good play for the Texas chili would be to get the $15 3 course meal and sub chili as the burger side.

Oh baby! I see chicken sandwiches in my future!
Chilis? At InO? "Secret" menu item?
sick burg, sick scar.
I finally tried those chopped peppers in my animal style double double last time I was in CA. Strong, strong recommend.
Dick's is 100% worth trying as it's a local institution, however, a lot of people who didn't grow up with it don't like it much. I like it myself despite being a transplant but I'd guess it's 50/50 or I'm maybe even in the minority.
...... boardwalk-style fries (fresh cooked in peanut oil, with a limp/almost soggy texture, similar to 5G but thinner) ....
Interesting, I never heard or boardwalk style fries. Like a lot of people in the seattle area, I started experimenting with dicks in college, and thought nothing of gobbling down a deluxe and fries.
They are limp, but also slightly crispy. Not stale or al dente, truly a unique fry.
$17 for a couple burgs and fries? Yeah its why I haven't been there in a long time. Where there's a dicks a mcdonalds is usually close by, and I have no problem getting a filling meal for $7 at the latter.
I don't know about the rest of the menu but I've been there 4 of the past 5 mornings for the $1 biscuits.
yeah a temporary reprieve for the redhead
forgot all about breakfast there because I rarely eat out in the morning
yesterday though, used points for a bacon egg swiss croissant and added a $1 honey chicken biscuit
not bad at all
Short story: ordered a double stack meal with a free 10pc nugs through the app and through the drive thru. I get home and the double stack is missing. Yea I know. I find there is no easy way to complain on the app.
I find a web page for Wendy's feedback and submit. Maybe 4-5 days later i get this email.
Worth a $5 discount. Not bad. Keep submitting your complaints.

I would've persisted until I received a $10 credit.
