We worked with Lucas Gabriel Pintos twice. The first time, everything went smoothly, and we completed the contract without any problems.
Upon Lucas's return in November 2024, his volume was very low, and when we asked about it, he said he was dealing with "personal issues".
We tried to get more details to better understand the situation, but Lucas Gabriel Pintos wasn't didn't clarify what was going on.
To our surprise, Lucas proceeded to empty his accounts on two sites that he was setting up. When questioned about it, Lucas stopped responding.

Roberto Mateo Plorutti applied using data from his father's PokerStars account, torredechas. We questioned him, and the answer was that he started playing underage and therefore used his father's account.
We started working with him on March 3, 2025, on the condition that he stop playing on his father's account and start playing on his own, since he was now of legal age.
He recently requested to leave the team and said he would return all the funds and pay the makeup through a PokerStars transfer - from his father's account.
We checked Sharkscope and found that there was continuing play on his father's account while he was under an active contract with us. Immediately prior to him requesting to buyout makeup there was a large win on his father's account.
It is very likely that he was multi-accounting and violating the exclusivity clause in our contract.

- guilexperi joined CardGrinders two years ago
- Until the end of 2024 we did not have any issues with the player
- Starting this year he entered a downswing
- In the following months he played low volume and unfortunately kept generating poor results at the tables which led to his MU position gradually increasing
- Throughout this period we supported the player to the best of our abilities with both fresh capital as well as mental support
- In June the player expressed his frustration about the ongoing downswing and indicated to us that he does not feel very motivated to play poker anymore
- He explained that one reason for the lack of motivation was that it would take a while to clear the MU and that until then he would not be able to make money for himself
- We decided to help the player by offering him to split 30% of his future profits while using only 70% to reduce the MU position
- The player responded positively to that offer and let us know that this might help
- His plan was that after many months of very low volume he would return to playing high volume again in July
- The player followed through with his plan to play high volume in July but unfortunately kept producing poor results
- In mid July he started complaining about not having fun anymore because despite him being “clearly the best player at the table” he kept losing
- This was also the first time that the player expressed thoughts to “quit poker altogether”
- Towards the end of July his frustration increased and he informed us that he is now “strongly considering to quit poker” as he was tired of “losing to worse players over and over”
- He started to indicate that continuing to play poker might come at the cost of his happiness and health
- At this point we would like to note that until the end of July the tone of all communication between the player and any CardGrinders manager/coach has always been friendly and polite
- Due to the fact that despite playing high volume in July his results remained underwhelming and instead of recovering MU he was sliding into the hole deeper and deeper we decided to re-evaluate our position as the players backers
- Part of that was to thoroughly analyse the players results in order to determine how likely it was that all of this was still just a downswing rather than a skill issue
- In order to make sure that we had all information available we kindly asked the player to send us a few specific screenshots from his PT4
- This was the first time that the player became hostile towards us
- He said that he was “pissed off” by this request, questioned why we would even ask for screenshots, and stated that we are disrespectful and insensitive for asking this
- After reviewing and analysing all data we came to the conclusion that the player was very likely unprofitable in one of the formats that he had been playing
- We afterwards sent a message to the player in which we shared our thoughts about which formats we recommend focusing on and which format he should maybe consider abandoning
- All of this was phrased as a mere suggestion, asking the player what his thoughts about this are
- From that point onwards things escalated very quickly
- The player responded in a very hostile way, calling the coach who had presented the proposal as “cold as f*ck” and accused us of “being blinded by money” and not caring about his well-being
- He furthermore accused us of having a hidden agenda where we want to take away some lobbies from him to secretly reassign them to other players of ours
- Hoping that we could repair the relationship with the player we offered him a call to talk things through together
- The player responded that he is not in the right mental space for a call and that we can do that at a later point in time
- We waited for a few days and then repeated the offer to schedule a call
- The player declined again, saying that he doesn’t see any reason to rush (he was on a break from grinding again at that point)
- We said okay, take all the time you need but while you are on a break and until you are ready for a call, please return what’s left of our BR in the meantime
- After ignoring the message for 5 days and two reminders later the player informed us that he will not return our BR
- At that point there were still $28k on his Stars account none of which was his property (roughly 50% of the amount was our bankroll and the other 50% was his August NW upswing that he owed to the pool)
- We explained to him that he has no right to confiscate money that has been temporarily given to him in good faith until requested back
- The player still refused to send back his Stars BR now telling us that he will only send it back if it was part of a deal that includes his $50k MU
- It took massive efforts and the involvement of a third party to receive the money on our behalf, to eventually get the player to send back our money
- As soon as our money had been received by the third party the player told us that “the deal is closed now”, that we are done for good and that he will now leave our Discord server/chat
- We asked him not to leave our Discord server because there was still a lot to discuss but the player left it anyway
- We then opened a separate group chat on Discord in order to contact him again
- We explained to him that he cannot just disappear with $50k MU and decide unilaterally that “we are done” now
- We offered him that he can go on break for as long as he likes (even if it ends up him quitting poker for good) without us asking back for any of the MU
- We told him that he lost it fair and square at the tables and we would not ask him to settle it (or even a part of it) from private funds
- If, however, he wishes to continue to play poker with a new backer or by himself then we would have to make a deal that involves the repayment of our MU
- Again, we were met with hostility by the player calling us “disgusting” and “having no dignity”
- The player furthermore reiterated that “the deal is over”, that therefore all MU is now eradicated and that he does not owe us an explanation if he wants to keep playing poker
- Given that we did not see any way how to reconcile the position of the player with ours we offered the player to involve a third party as mediator (someone who both sides respect and in whose fair judgement both sides trust) who would "rule" in this matter as a judge and who would get access to all chat histories and numbers
- The player declined the proposal to settle this issue via mediation, saying that he is “not interested in mediation or any further discussion”
- Afterwards he left this second chat as well
All of the above is documented in the chat logs with the player. If the player agrees to having them published, we would be happy to provide them to interested parties.

After an audit, in July 2025, Ivan Dominik Stapić admitted using team funds to gamble at the casino.
We arranged a payment plan with Ivan to return the misused funds and the makeup within the team.
After paying the first installment, Ivan said he'd need to postpone the 2nd payment due to "urgent family issues", we asked for more information which he refused to provide. We agreed to give him an extra 2 weeks to make the 2nd payment as a 1-off leniency, but the 2 weeks have come and gone and he hasn't made the 2nd payment.

We began working with Christopher Kevin Franco Farina in November 2024.
A few months after joining, we discovered that he was playing for himself outside of our deal - breaking the exclusivity clause in our contract. After talking and clarifying the situation, we continued working with the player.
In June 2025, Christopher Kevin Franco Farina told us he was going through a personal issue and needed some time to get back into the game. We gave him the space to figure it out, but a little over a month later, he was still unable to play and claimed that he was away from home with no way to send us our funds back.
After we insisted, the player sent us about $100 of the $1,600 he was supposed to be holding.
We don't know if Christopher Kevin misused the funds but at this point that's the only conclusion we can draw.

During his first stint (from 2019 to 2021) we had an incident where he claimed that a flat mate stole funds from his accounts, but he had resolved the situation.
This time around he went missing with the funds that had been in his account for several months along with an existing loan.

We started working with Simão Gomes on August 26th, 2025.
From the very beginning, he struggled to follow the limits established in the contract and he was also very difficult to deal with.
At one point, Simão told us he had problems controlling his own behavior saying:
“Do you know why I came here?
Main reason?
I’m a tournament specialist but a total degenerate in other games.
I ordered all of this to be blocked.
The cash can’t be blocked, so I was going to gamble for the ACR all-in or fold.
Or play 200/400 PLO hi-lo in the rathole.
I’m a degenerate.”
Simão Gomes started displaying compulsive behavior working with us as well, rarely if ever taking breaks and losing nearly every day in the very short period he worked with us.
After he requested a reload, we asked him to take a day or two off to make sure he didn't burn out and to just reset and we would reload him after the break. He'd been playing for 2+ weeks without a single day off at that point.
He unilaterally decided that this request was unacceptable and gave us an ultimatum of reloading him within 30 minutes or he'd terminate the deal (which he can't do with active makeup, without also buying out his makeup).
We did not reload him and after a few days he sent back all the funds he was holding onto, but refused to buy out his makeup.
We concur with Simão Gomes characterization of himself as a "degenerate" and would advise others against working with him.

In September 2025, Janis Zeiburlins announced that he had stolen the team's funds and was retiring from poker. Janis Zeiburlins also refused to provide any documentation - audits or screenshots - because, in his words, "I won't send anything that might incriminate me."
In addition to stealing the funds, Janis Zeiburlins offered us a payment plan of €200 per month to pay off a debt of over $19k. While we were discussing this payment plan, Janis Zeiburlins stole again from an account that had been frozen for investigation because he was chip dumping.
After the frozen account was unlocked, he didn't alert us and finished stealing the funds in it (by chip dumping).
We're willing to update this post if any consistent payments are made over time, but we need to alert the community to Janis Zeiburlins’s actions.

Sad to hear but not surprising. Figured he would be on his own at this point after some pretty solid success. The bright side is he has a history of this and has been known to at least try and reach some sort of agreement at some point . This has happened multiple times with him. He's a smart guy and hopefully he gets some things cleaned up and ends up ok but it's hard to think that will be the case with his patterns. Backers need to do far more diligence before backing people. It doesn't get talked about enough but the poker world is full of addicts, grifters, scammers, and people with extremely loose ethics.
