Urban does Vegas again (19th November to 29th November)

So I am getting this in early as I am just super excited already!

You may or may not remember previous trip reports but I really do enjoy sharing my experiences with you guys so I intend to do the same again this year.

Have not posted much on 2+2 but I have had a super busy if not life changing year. After my trip last year I went on a weight loss journey and have lost 35kg since November which has resulted in so many more health benefits and I really do feel like I am back to the healthy version of me.

I managed to go on the run of my life playing craps online and have won over £85k this year. This has now made me debt free, paid for an extension on the house, treated the family to a nice holiday, put some away for the kids when they are older and has given me the chance to fly upper class this trip!

Poker wise I have been playing in a couple of private games locally as the casino games in my area are just awful. Not sure if this a trend in the UK or even internationally but I am finding it really hard to find decent games. Also chucked in a few tournaments as despite not enjoying them massively I had that FT in the WSOP C event in Vegas last year which made me think I should play a few more "bigger tournaments". Out of the 3 tournaments I played I had 1 FT and 1 cash so a great LOL sample size.

Anyway we are staying at the Horseshoe again this year as they have comped my whole trip apart from the stupid resort fee. I can see why people are getting so annoyed with this and I do hope next year they do away with this money grabbing fee. P (from the last trip) has promised that we are getting a pit pass for the F1 this year but I am dubious as he said the same last year. However he does have a family member working for the Mclaren F1 team who we met last year and we were told "he would sort it out for us".

Bankroll $15k

Goals for this trip:

Visit the Sphere
Earn Diamond status (have been using a VP trainer online to try and play perfect VP strategy) This could end badly!
FT another tournament. There is no WSOP C on this year so it might have to be a daily Wynn game or something
Have a couple of spa days
Walk at least 12k steps a day
Try a marathon cash session of 7+ hours
Watch a show
Go on a 20+ roll craps session
Buy a watch
Do some Xmas shopping at the Black Friday sales

Might add some others in later to the time but thought I should do some fun things at least!

Lets f'ing go!!!!

Yeah I will add that was over a 6 month period but still I know it is insane.

We will be there at the same time! We get in Tuesday, Nov. 18, and leave the 25th! Maybe we can grab a drink or meet at the tables. Let me know what tourney you land on. We'll be playing mainly PLO at Wynncore.

Funny, 7 hours is a normal/short session for me 😉 Good luck! Have fun!

Amazing yes lets meet up and get a drink. Will be cool to meet another 2+2er

Congratulations on the weight loss, that's great.

I'm in for the TR. Travel safely, looking forward to reading about your adventures in ~6 weeks.

Ditto on the weight loss. That's fantastic! (My husband needs to lose 60 lb -- maybe you can give him a few pointers!)

I'm going to be there for Thanksgiving, the week after F1.

I went to the Vegas F1 circa 1981. I don't remember pit passes being available, but we got garage passes for next to nothing, like 3 bucks. We went during down time, when they were off the track. It was much better than during practice or the race, I think. The different crews would tell you stories and it was easier to hear.

What kind of vp are you going to play? Are you aware of the daily bonuses? Be sure to read the last handful of pages in the Diamond in a Day thread.

Yeah I have been checking that thread out. I think the plan is to play Jacks or Better multihand depending on the pay tables. Looking around the pay tables are awful unless you are in the high limit room. Cromwell apparently has a good machine and that place is usually quiet so might be the best place to try. Although I am a few weeks away so will check again a day or two before I fly and see.

CET vp tends to have the same machines in all their Vegas casinos, so that machine might not actually be there any more. Still worth checking out though. I usually play Bonus Poker, the odds are close to JoB and they seem to be easier to find.

CET is just bad for VP all around. Part of why I have little to no interest in the Caesar's ecosystem. I plan to be there F1 weekend, staying at V/P. Send me a PM if you're not a serial killer and want to meet up. Happy to meet at a bar, or better yet, a VP bar.

Depends on what you call a serial killer. Is it more than one, or more than two?

You know the more I look into it the more I am being put off CET. Maybe it is time to branch out and give my action elsewhere.

Oh and can confirm I am not a serial killer. Although I am aware this is something a serial killer would say

You will find better paytables than CET at nice cocktail bars in pretty much any other property group. For example, the Chandelier Bar at Cosmo and the Palazzo high limit room bar both offer your standard strip pay tables (which are better than the CET ones, which are all a notch worse basically).

We need to all meet up -- venice10 is in, too, I think 😉

The only reason to play CET vp is for the tier credits, and with the 2 for 1 daily bonuses it's arguably the best deal I know of.

The corollary is that the only reason I play vp to get the tier credits is for Diamond, with the action I give having the huge benefit of discounted rooms. The only reason I want discounted rooms is because I want to play the WSOP every year. Since I stay several days for the WSOP, all together, the free parking, free resort fees, early check-in, and late check-out are things I don't care about with other hotels because they don't have the WSOP.

Except you can stay across the street at Bellagio, Cosmo, Aria, or Vdara and be at the convention area in like 10 minutes, and most of the walk is indoors. I have literally 0 desire to stay at Horseshoe or even Paris just to be 10-15 minutes closer to the tournament area.

Edit: I should acknowledge that for people with mobility issues, there's clearly a ton of value to staying on property, and i don't mean to diminish that.

Anyway, I guess we're kind of off topic now.

I don't want to go outside at all in Vegas in June/July.

Didn't you once say you go through 2-3 shirts per day? If I were in your shirts, I wouldn't want to go outside either! 😃

Paris, Horseshoe or Planet Hollywood High Limit Rooms.

You want the All Star III poker machines. They look like this:

PH has 8, Paris has 6, Horseshoe has 4. They've all got the same games on them, and depending on what level you're playing, you have 2 main choices.

If you're playing at 25c or 50c level, you want Spin Poker, Jacks or Better. Pay table is 9/5 (98.45% payback). This is the best game for quarters/half-dollars at CET. $10 per point.

If you're playing at $1 level and can play triple play ($15 a pull), then this machine also offers Triple Play base Jacks or Better at 9/5. This is the best game at dollars (yes I know technically you can get Bonus Poker Deluxe at 98.49% at $1 at Harrah's but the variance isn't worth it over these). If you can only play single line - Spin Poker again. All still $10 per point.

Pity you can't change your dates. CET are running 5x tier credit multipliers from 10th-19th November. Even getting into town 2 days early makes this so much easier.

I saw the email about the 5x tier credit multipliers and considered getting there a day earlier. Just does not look like I can swing the extra day which is a pig. I am however getting in on the 19th so I should be able to get 5 hours in providing I have no delays etc.

First off... Congrats on the weight loss...

Secondly... tell me about online Craps please

Thanks started at 122kg which was stupid and too much. As of the last few weeks I have been staying at 86kg which I feel I am totally happy with. Losing nearly 30% of my starting body weight is great but stupid BMI says I am still overweight but trying not to read too much into that.

Online craps I have to use a crypto casino that uses Evolution studios. Not many sites in the UK use Evolution, they tend to stick to Pragmatic. Even if they do use Evolution they turn craps off for some reason (looking at you Pokerstars)!!! Basically they have a full live craps table with a live dealer and they feed the dice into a launcher and it rolls every 30 seconds or so. A bit like stadium craps in some land base casinos.

The one downside to this online version is they only offer you 1x odds on the pass and don't pass line. I tend to ignore the pass line bet and stick to the don't pass

Bankroll has grown a little for this trip

Just over two weeks to go now!

Can anyone here suggest a good fun shooting range in Vegas? Two of the guys going want to try something like that out.
