Grats, prairie.
I blew the dust off my session tracker to enter my work trip session and realized I'm on a five session losing streak myself, with the first two of those being pre-Covid. Yeah, it's been a while.
On Saturday's session I lost $100 exactly on the very first hand dealt, and over the next 4 hours 45 minutes I got exactly $3 of that back.

Subie all charged up this PM. Went up to the gas station, first grabbing my neighbor's jumper pack as a just-in-case. Seems like it's back to normal.
Keyfob to lock/unlock? Something has to be 'on' in the car to receive the request from the fob. Might be the culprit.
gman, are you happy the president is cleaning up the ranks of fatties?
Im super siked that they have taken focus away from the drug trade. Cocaine futures are in the tank so now is the time to BUY BUY BUY
I'm so glad we're focused on the important things.
G - are you more excited about bringing back hazing or ignoring the geneva convention?
Uniform Code of Military Justice Article 88, Contempt toward officials: "Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Homeland Security, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct."
So, how is retirement going, squido?
Garick - I going to be 100% honest here. Its ossum. Having enuf so I dont sweat jackshit leaves me with zero life stresses so I am able to focus my energy on exactly what I want out of my remaining time on this planet rather than worrying about making $. At this point I can say with near certainty I will never have to play another hand of poker/blackjack/or other AP again and that makes me happy.
Every profession has its positives and nevagtives. Now that I have had some time away from the perfessional gambool to take stock my stance towards gambling and casinos is even more negative. I am fully aware of how lucky I was on so many levels to be at the point I could walk away and Im 100% ok with that. I made a ton of mistakes but also made some fantastic shoices. However, at the end of the day there were several inflection points in my career that were simply dumb fcuking luck that put me where I am which imo is beyond crazy.
How about yourself are you closing in on retirement?
I am. Current plan is summer of 2027, but I might accelerate that, depending on the work environment. For right now, I still love my job and the folks I work with.
We're coming out to Utah in a couple of weeks to scout potential retirement locations, and for wife to compete in an Irish dance event. Gonna be a whirlwind tour, but perhaps we can meet up for an adult beverage. Dance comp is in SLC, and we're planning on checking out Ogden, as it looks like just the spot on paper, but we've never been there to get the vibe.
Glad to hear you're digging retirement. I've never been one to idle well, so I'm afraid I might get a bit stir crazy. Will probably need some sort of gig to keep me busy/give me a little structure. Probably either a part-time professor gig or opening up a nano-brewery. That's likely tough in Utah, which moves it a couple of spots down the rankings.
If you are driving to Utah.... we would love a visit as you get west of Denver.
G - Def hit me up when you get to town. Id love to grab a beverage or bite. SPC is currently outside of nashville making her way west on the bicycle so its unlikely she will be here but you never know.
Whelp. I am furloughed until the gubment reopens.
I now get to understand what an unemployed bum feels like. Or what Zoltan feels every day.
Good to hear Squiddy!
Yeah, that might be the key for me too. Even working my reduced 25 hour work week this year (which has been ossum) still makes me aware that it sucks up my whole morning which I'll eventually have to replace with something.

GG&G,
People that have no life balance forget how to recreate and have fun. Both you guys have plenty of outside interests and hobbies that are positive and engaging. The fantastic news is there are even more fun things to do that you have never tried that are just waiting to be enjoyed. You just got to find em and take a poke to see if you like it.
Agree with squid. Some of the best advice I got from people who retired before me was, "have an idea of what you want to do."
It's great the first few weeks to laze about, but that gets real old, real fast. Have a plan for how to fill your days.
GL on the get-out, Garick. As King said, if you're coming through Denver, ready to go for a bite or brew.
Thanks guys, but we are flying. Whirlwind tour indeed.
In the meantime I'll be doing double duty to cover classes my civilian colleagues would be teaching.
always great to get a squid/SPC update--glad retirement and crosscountry biking are treating yall well!

Is endboss medieval ass-kicker an option?
Hit me up if you need advice on the part-time prof gig. I might know a guy.
I woudn't know how to feel about this. Congratudolences?

My end osa days are behind me. I am more Mr. Miyagi than Daniel-san these days. I can still kick some ass from time to time, but the plot revolves around a new generation.
