This is relevant to Jags but, a lot of teams right now. Turnover "luck" is a stat that is tracked at the analyst level. Simply put teams will look at each turnover and grade it depending on if it was "intentional" or a mistake was made that worked to a teams benefit. You'd be surprised at how often turnovers are not lucky but rather a reaction or move to a tendency that teams r

same goes for college, you notice when every third play has someone ripping furiously at the ball

One thing that has happened this year is teams employed mixed martial artists coaches that normally work with DBs/WRs/DL/OL with hand fighting. It was taken to another step for a few teams and engagement through the ball was taught(peanut punch).

Full speed Superman punches doesn't seem like a good direction for a game already under scrutiny for player safety. There was a play in the Texas / San Jose State game where one of these punches missed, caught the ball carrier's chin, and swiveled his head for an apparent KO.

At least one guy this year was bringing back the Deacon Jones slap

Also, shout out Deacon Jones, Feminist and equal rights icon

it's a shame jayden daniels is back at practice
with the brown announcements from london of flacbert benched for dillon gabriel
mariota starting would have been the first time in nfl history for four qbs from one college on the same weekend

Thanks! I noticed a play this past weekend (have no idea which game) where a defender was hanging several feet away while his teammates were attacking the ball carrier but the guy obviously wasn't loafing. My first thought was WTH is he doing? Then it dawned on me that this guy was perched in case the ball got popped out. I don't recall ever seeing that being so obvious before.

Colts defense needs to be separated into when Moore is healthy or when Howard has to play for him. Decent in the former, bottom in the latter

I wonder if Bear fans feel ripped off knowing it wasn't the "genius" of Ben Johnson that made the Lions offense so good.

not a bears fan, but they 100% do.

let's just see.

Lions can still be running a ton of Johnson's scheme and plays. I don't think all of a coach's work and impact disappears the day he walks out the door. And let's judge Johnson on more than 4 weeks worth of results

super early and almost irrelevant from a sample size pov, but they're averaging 7 ppg more in 2025 than last year and Caleb's QBR is 20 points higher

Johnson is a huge upgrade over whatever blobs of **** they had coaching the team last year.

Bears' fans are fine.

I wouldn't go that far 😀 But Johnson isn't the problem. Ownership and upper management sucks balls. They are 15-36 since hiring Poles as GM and I think they just extended him? He is a horrible gm and judge of talent.

Yeah, but he ripped off the moron Panthers, so he must be good, right?!

obligatory

GMing 101: don't spend a Day 1 pick (and future assets, ldo) on a midget QB

Without looking it up I think Hutchinson's forced fumble on Henry was precisely a trailing defender punching. Therefore I validate this post as fully accurate.

Ben Johnson looks like an annoying and humorless version of Tosh.0.

Nice punch by hutchinson but if henry keeps wearing the arm spandex its just gonna keep happening

I have always thought Poles looks like a deer in headlights. The Bears will win nothing until they have new ownership.

He also hired Eberflus and Waldron. He traded a second for Chase Claypool. He did nothing to upgrade an absolute trash RB room.

He is a huge upgrade over those turds but is he the genius they thought they were getting?

Meanwhile Stafford has Puka and Adams to throw too and they are only 8.5 point favorites.
