There is a huge difference (imo) between a bad-taste joke about dead Gazan babies from Jones and hours and hours and hours of anti-Jewish and anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim rants from Fuentes. (I'm not familiar with the dead baby joke, so I'll assume you're telling the truth about it.)And how is Shapiro 'pushing for censorship' against Fuentes? I'm unsure you even know what '

That is your opinion, and I provided my opinions as well. I’m just talking about this from the standpoint of those types of people who claim to stand for free speech and a free marketplace of ideas. This is what Vivek Ramaswamy pointed out.

Now, CNN and Fox News should be interviewing people who are major players in the political world and that includes Nick Fuentes, Ben Shapiro and Van Jones. Again specifically on the point about standing up cancel culture. ..It is really unfortunate that a small percentage of conservatives are outright hypocrites. Again, David Duke was allowed on YouTube for years up until about 2017 when a political agenda banned him. It’s cowardice and it is against American values.

Ben Shapiro refuses to debate Fuentes… numerous podcasters such as Joe Rogan and Tim Poole refuse to interview Fuentes.

It’s kind of interesting myself and many pro free speech folk would argue that Ben Shapiro should not be banned from any news network. He can talk about the “threat of Muslims and too many Muslims being in Europe” all he wants …I have the right to disagree with that. And anybody can use common sense to come to their own conclusions.

Care to explain the logic behind capitalist entities doing capitalist things being unamerican

That’s perhaps separate from the news organizations refusing to interview major political figures… which in and of itself is a massive disservice to the American people.

but still your point is very easily addressed. Talking about capitalism or market shares or ratings ….if Fox brought on Fuentes for an interview that segment or video on YouTube would get 5 to 20 times more views than most of their segments. … so there’s something much more sinister going on here with regards to the political interference and censorship by CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and YouTube. Because it’s certainly isn’t about money or capitalism. I mean Fuentes goes on the PBD podcast and it gets over 3 million views and you look at their YouTube channel All the previous videos are maxing out around 500,000 views. There’s your capitalism for you.

I mean if you are a neocon who thinks the US should be highly involved in global commerce and defense, especially Middle East natural resource extraction and distribution, then fair enough. Trump is clearly in this group based on his policies and actions, regardless of his rhetoric which contradicts itself a lot.

But if your whole shtick is "America first and we need to disentangle ourselves from the ME and Israel" and you hear we have signed a defense pact and have a joint military base in Idaho with a country that sponsors and funds international Islamism, runs a very influential pro Islamist propaganda outlet in Al Jazeera, and was recently bombed by Iran AND Israel*, and your response to this is, "Nothing to see here, these aren't the drones you are looking for, move along" I am going to go ahead and question the sincerity of your professed motives.

Cable TV news stations have much stricter rules and regulations than Youtube podcasts. Fox News has already paid something like $1 billion in lawsuits because of Tucker (with more lawsuits litigating). Fuentes is much worse than Tucker as far as saying **** that would get you sued into oblivion.

Even if they wanted to have Fuentes on their network for principled reasons (and there is no indication they do) it would be financial suicide. Last time I checked making business decisions that would guarantee bankruptcy is not sound capitalism.

I think it’s a strategy of containment. Build up the Middle East so they stop wanting to move here, and at the same time restrict immigration from there and deport the most anti-American muslims on permanent residence.

It’s not a horrible strategy if you can be king forever or actually get policy passed, but Trump hopefully won’t be the former and definitely can’t do the latter. Therefore the next president can just undo it.

Trump's strategy is fine for who he is. He is very comfortable getting the US involved in ME affairs towards his own (and hopefully the countries) benefit. I am criticizing the so-called "America first, we need to get out of the ME" crowd, who is agnostic about Trump entangling the US farther and farther in ME politics. It really is "No Jews, no news" with these guys.

Yeah. It doesn’t hurt that Trump feels at home among Middle Eastern dictators and probably feels jealous about their power. Expecting Trump not to want to use the military is full koolaid.

He’s the president of “no new wars” only in the sense of he never declares war, but he feels fully comfortable greenlighting and bragging about a bunch of neocon projects.

Apparently the booking for lots of big podcasts happens thru 1 agency. So there may be something there. Also why you see the same people passed around like joints 😀

Nope…. Do you understand I’m saying they should interview Fuentes not hire him. Even if they did hire the guy so what again it is no different than the fact that they have Mark Levin as an employee or Ben Shapiro as a paid guest. You are only providing your subjective opinion that Shapiro or people like Robert Spencer, Pam Geller, Brigitte Gabriel and so many more are not as bad as Fuentes.

You are way way off here. Do you know that CNN interviewed David Duke numerous times. They didn’t lose any sponsors. It’s called journalism that is what journalists do they interview major political figures and they ask the tough questions

What are you talking about financial suicide? Is this how afraid you are of free speech but more so journalism. It’s really backwards and it actually only hurts the cause of Israel.

A lot can be sad about the lawsuits that Fox News, ABC and CBS settled. People might even say that they were politically motivated. So you got nothing there. You’re using the same playbook that left-wing cancel culture people use. Kind of funny.

This whole cancel culture thing is a joke … one of the dumbest things we have ever seen. Again, YouTube platformed David Duke. You have no excuse here. I don’t know what you’re trying to do either you support real journalism you don’t.

Gotta admit It: 'not platforming Fuentes hurts the cause the Israel' was an argument I wasn't expecting.

David Duke ran for political office several times, including governor. I suspect if Fuentes was running for public office he'd end up on FoxNews and CNN at some point.

Plenty of people who think like Fuentes has been given airtime in media and social media by influencers, channels and programs with a wide reach. It isn't like white supremacy, Nazism and nationalism are in lack of promotion these days. A lot of it is pretty much mainstream.

As stated earlier, Fuentes even had dinner at Mar-a-lago with (at the time) former and future president Trump. At that point in time he had already engaged in holocaust denial, given public speeches about holy war to kill Jews, and led a Nazi-rally where an innocent person was killed. You know, he'd been a massive dingbat.

So, exactly what kind of exposure is it that is so vitally important to give to this moron? He's been dining with the most powerful politician in America and has enough reach to be known by people with a passing interest in American politics. Seems to me that he has been given chances and access most political operators and extremists can only dream of, and this despite the fact that he represents one of the most vile and moronic political ideologies in western political history.

It's about time we start talking about handing the keys to grownups, instead of insisting that every kook with a hate speech needs to be handed all the microphones in the land. I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm bloody tired of these hatespewing nitwits.

the "grownups" are the people who just supported murdering 100s of thousands in Palestine and are now busy manufacturing consent to murder 100s of thousands in Venezuela? and dont forget the media support in Iraq either. Fuentes seems pretty powerless compared to them.

Imagine being really angry about the Gaza genocide but you're also furiously masturbating to pictures of dead Ukrainian children.....

Snip.

A fine addition to communists' long history of giving their favorite Nazis a pass.

its funny bc you support shipping billions in deadly weapons to actual Nazis in Ukraine. again, people with infinitely more power than Fuentes.

Snip.

I'm not the one going postal in a thread over criticism of a Nazi, you are.

you can criticize Fuentes all you want, but I do go postal over your idea of the "grownups" who are responsible for supporting millions of deaths all over the world as long as I can remember.

again, you have no problem with Fuentes' ideology so long as it is directed at the people who you consider subhuman.

Who, specifically, does TD consider 'subhuman'?

And please show your work.

What’s the final estimated death toll from Hamas?

What’s the final estimated death toll from Hamas?

It doesn't matter. Their killings were all justified.

Nice to see the American Muslim community and far right are finding common ground to build bridges.

Gotta admit It: 'not platforming Fuentes hurts the cause the Israel' was an argument I wasn't expecting.

Really should be straightforward here. A journalist has the duty to interview people. We shouldn’t even use the word platform. Again CNN has interviewed countless white supremacists over the past 20 years and these are people who were nowhere near as popular as Fuentes what does maybe they had 100,000 followers or less. ABC has done this as well.

With Fuentes you’re talking about a person with millions of followers. The people who are most critical of Fuentes are often the pro war in Gaza people. Yes they hurt Israel when they call for Fuentes to be censored or shut down.

And also this left-wing cancel culture tactic of people bringing up random folks quoting Hitler or something like that or saying something bad about Jews is 100% comparable to the many people in Israel who have praised Jewish terrorists like Barach Goldstein including politicians. So somebody online praises Hitler and then you had these pro war in Gaza people act like the whole world is coming to an end. Do they even know who Goldstein is or even care about it. I’m sure many do some don’t but many do and they don’t give a darn about what that he did and how it is champion by political and media personalities and all sorts of people in Israel. … where is the reaction there?

I mean hypocrisy is right there in your face. It is totally undeniable. Bottom line this thread tells us who the pro Israel hypocrites are. There’s plenty of people who are pro Israel, who are not about censoring people. But who would understand if a journalist is able to interview popular political figures and then ask them the tough questions. It’s such an easy thing to do to deconstruct the views of Nick Fuentes same thing with Ben Shapiro.

Except journalists aren't like a public utility. The gas company and the electric company certainly have a duty/obligation to provide gas and electricity to anyone and everyone is willing to pay for it.

Conversely, journalists and/or their editors choose who they desire to interview. They have no obligation of any sort to interview any particular individual.

Fine with me if CNN and FoxNews refuse to interview Fuentes and also fine with me if they want to broadcast a three-hour interview with him in prime-time.
