2025 NFL Season Thread: Can Uncle Rico save the Broncos or will they be Nixed?
Greetings friends.
Those of you who know me know me as a Niners fan full of fantastical levels of vitriol and rage. I hav
Three of Daniel Jones' worst four outings by EPA per dropback have been in the past three games (against the Steelers, Falcons and Chiefs).
And it turns out he's been playing those games, and will continue to play, with a broken leg...
I get that AR5 is his backup, but like...it's a broken leg
Every team has at least six takeaways this season … well, except for the New York Jets. New York has only forced one turnover — a Broncos fumble in London

DVOA says the Bengals have the worst defense it has ever measured through 11 games. And their 32.7 points allowed per game is the second-worst figure since 1978 for a team through its first 11 games, trailing only the 1981 Baltimore Colts (34.3).

The Giants have allowed a remarkable 6.0 yards per carry when we remove scrambles, kneel-downs and aborted plays. That's the highest figure in modern NFL history by half a yard
- - - - -
The average Pats opponent so far has a DVOA of minus-15.0%, which would be the easiest schedule ever measured. If the average Patriots opponent was ranked among NFL teams, it would rank 25th in DVOA.

Chicago currently ranks just 22nd in DVOA and has the lowest DVOA ever measured for an 8-3 team.
1. Dallas
The Playoff team from the AFC North division (Pittsburgh or Baltimore) is going to be putrid.

It might be the Bengals which is kind of scary. The Browns aren't out of it either.
If the Bengals upset the Bills next week things actually get real. Their D played fantastic last night and has been improving the last two weeks. Lamar was awful so who knows how much better this Bengals D actually is. The AFC doesn't have any elite teams this year. We will see how good Denver is coming out of the bye maybe they are it. Ironically, the Bengals with a healthy Burrow and a somewhat functioning D might be the best team even though they are only 4-8. They were in this spot last year and just barely missed the playoffs. Their path may be easier this year given how pathetic the Steelers and Ravens are.
Other teams will take better advantage of the Bengals D than that awful performance by the Ravens. The OPI on Zay was soft, and the Likely fumble -- I mean, it's amazing this stuff consistently happens to this team. Can't get out of our own way. Ravens still outgained them 6.1 to 4.8 ypp but I think part of that was the short field inefficiencies for Bengals on the turnovers, along with Burrow being a bit rusty.
Can't expect the defense to hold up on a 2:1 possession split, eventually they get worn down, and Wiggins got knocked out.
Lamar's accuracy since returning has been miserable. I did feel like he did more of his Lamar-type stuff with extending and making a few great plays, so maybe still shaking off some of the injury rust. But probably wishful thinking. The three divisional games are must-wins, otherwise just pack it up and tank. We could use the draft capital since we have to pay a few guys and retool our defense.
Also, where are all the Packers haters at. Could multiquote weeks and weeks of "Packers too high" -- but they're 8-3-1 and will beat the Bears twice to win the division. Pack are still a solid SB contender.

That likely fumble cost me a ton of money in DFS.
It sometimes looks like Lamar doesn't cares out there. I'm sure he does care but his body language doesn't instill confidence. I haven't seen a super star QB play this bad since Russ Wilson.
Felt like I saw so many drops yesterday.
Like, not all brutal ones but so many 50:50s didn’t get taken
the browns have a great defense(at least at home).. and their offense sucks ass, but has a chance to maybe be ok. they have a great RB. maybe Sanders has a chance to be ok? two good TE

Kind of agree. There's still a part of Lamar that doesn't really seem to be all that bummed out about falling short of expectations and I think it has to do with Harbaugh.

Will they now? After they don't beat the Bears twice will the Bears finally sneak into your top 10? Or will it take a NFC championship for them?

I am currently 0/4 for this week in my picking pool that I was leading. It felt like a relatively straightforward week too
“Your contenders (sorted by super bowl odds):”
Steve Grogan & Jim McMahon might actually be walking through that door.

Impressive to go into Philly and win, really didn't think they had it in them. Easily their biggest win of the season, but the schedule doesn't get any easier from here, they've got 5 tough games to finish.

Looking at the Bengals schedule I can see them winning out. Ravens and Steelers could definitely drop enough games too.
Rams losing just as they appear to be the clear cut best team is so on brand for this season.
I’m ok with it
This NFL season makes no sense and I'm loving it
Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard are football terrorists and their continued employment in this economy is an insult to every member of the working class.
next mating season josh allen might just molt into the ghost of a 17-year old cicada
