General TV Discussion and Thread for Shows Without A Thread Thread
OOTV doesnt like family comedies much huh? Raising Hope and The Middle are two of the best(possibly the best outside of
what? first seasons of BCS were awesome!
Anyone watch the British police drama, Blue Lights? It's not new, but it looks interesting
I like Blue Lights. Female lead is the sister from Trying in a very different role.
ep 1 of All Her Fault was good
that show is terrible. Stop now.
I watched the Everybody Loves Raymond reunion last night. Did anyone else get all teary eyed or was it just me? I used to watch it all the time with my grandparents, so maybe that's what it was for me.
Got HBO Max just to watch Chair Company!
It’s pretty damn great!! Absolutely batshit.
brilliantly batshit
I gave Chair Company five episodes. Laughed some early, but it just isn't my type of show.
3 episodes into S4 of Mayor of Kingstown and it is surprisingly better than the last two seasons. It's the perfect mindless show to watch on an airplane.
It’s in my Q zone for sure
Spartacus: House of Ashur airs tomorrow and its getting great reviews across the board.
I loved the original show and despite the weird alt-timeline they are going for im really excited. Shame it took so long.
Any fans here?
I'm excited for house of Ashur too. earlier series were great! especially the first one.
I hope they have the same writers. the language of the show was good
Ashur was a good character
Never watched Spartacus, is it that good? I may or not have looked up the nude scenes though
Spartacus is great! if you go in for that kind of the show. the first episode kinda sucks though. and first episode is very different from the whole rest of the series. it's skippable too.
another major bummer about the series is the lead actor fricking dies of fricking cancer after the first season. so they really had to change things up for later seasons. they did a prequal with a different lead character which was good, but not great. and then they cast another actor to play the lead. the replacement actor looks amazingly similar. and it was good, but first season is the best.
Never watched Spartacus, is it that good? I may or not have looked up the nude scenes though
You certainly need to remove cock from ass and watch Spartacus in all its glory.
First season is the best, but imo the prequel was amazing to. Second season is good, final season is back to great because the new spartacus really grew into the role and its just a really well done storywise with a great ending. And John Hannah is so good in the show.
Don't Watch Be Here Now (2015), the documentary about Andy Whitfield though, thats ****ing hearthbreaking.
interesting(to me) trivia about spartacus, the novel that got made into the blockbuster movie from 1960
the guy who wrote the novel, wrote it in prison. he was there for being a communist in America. he was pissed off about being put in prison just for his political beliefs. and the novel(which also was a big hit) is filled with communist propaganda.
Hollywood didn't want to make the movie, but Kirk douglass fought for it. imo he didn't care at all about the politics. he just thought the movie would help make him more famous and make him a lot of money.
Hollywood took out most of the communist propaganda, but I mean the story of Spartacus is very anti capitalist, and power to the working people. so they had to leave some in.
Watched S03 of Gangs of London. Very good show, even though couldn't really recall what was going on - S02 came out three years ago. Extremely violent.
spartacus is not good at all but remains a guilty pleasure - every scene someone is either nude or getting disemboweled
also, lucy lawless is nude in it repeatedly along with a lot of stunningly beautiful women
