Is keeping the hole cards face down common? I've never really explored PLO, and given some of the other software "decisions" at WPT, I figured this might be a bug or something but apparently not. Thanks!
It is on 888, WSOP and ACR afaik and on ACR it recycles the cards folded preflop so they can come out at any period after you folded them. The cards are dealt one player at a time so other players after you can receive a card you folded. Are you seeing folded cards showing up on the board at any point?
It reduces collusion but players quickly adapt and engineer ways around it so as usual eyes open approach is still needed.
could you pretty please add the option to filter lobby by specific stake rather than stake range (micro, low, mid)?

Is anyone else having massive disconnect issues? It feels like if my Internet connection hiccups just a bit, the table grays out and the app says there's a connection issue. Everything else I'm doing keeps going fine--other poker sites, YouTube videos--nothing else seems bothered by the hiccup, but ClubWPTGold gets all screwed up. After a while, the lobby displays a message saying there's been an issue and asking if I want to try to reconnect, which works some percentage of the time, but not always. But even when it does work, it's never in time to get back to my hand before it's auto-folded.
This is being annoying to the point of making the site unplayable. I'm going to figure out if I can use some sort of dual Internet connection with my phone as an automatic backup, but if not, I'll have to bail on this site regardless of its softness.
Tons of bots at 2/4 NL. I think there are ~10. They all have identical preflop stats, same naming convention (Noun and then 2-3 digit number), play the same speeds, similar timings, use the same non-meta IP river strategy that the bots on GG used (b25-b33 value).They aren't playing close to GTO preflop ranges or doing any kind of MDA strategy. Definitely to prevent collusion, and definitely not dumb.
Also, the fact that we can check their hole cards on request will be helpful if you suspect collusion and to prevent people from playing together like I've seen happen in the past on other sites.
Looks like the new model didn't hold up in NY, which leads me to believe it won't hold up in Cali either

Large states with high population have a major impact on poker traffic. Cali and NY impacts everyone on this site even if you don't live there. I just thought it was relevant to the Gold thread lmao

Isn't that a hypocritical statement you made? Losing players leaving would make the games harder.
Only on 2p2 would people think California and its 40 million population leaving would allow the games to stay this soft.
Two of the wealthiest and most populous states being removed from the pool is obviously horrible and anyone who thinks it isn't might have deficiencies
Holdem games are thoroughly saturated with regs already. They still might be the best online games around by a wide margin though.
The Omaha games are unsustainably good. I see no evidence of botting at .2/.5/1 and below

They let people play again from NY after changing the model (the model that isn't going to work). Here is a response from the actual WPT Gold site posted 3 days ago. Obviously no one here does any reading lol

You just got locked out. Gov didn't give a crap what happened to your money. You could try and fight with some foreign governmen or just eat it. I lost like $400 off of Ultimatebet. I cashed out multiple times over 2008 and 2009 in preperation but the shut down was pretty ubrupt considering the law passed months earlier. Everything was just gone one day.
If online poker is banned and you are playing on a site, you don't really have a legal recourse. The company can be nice but it is what it is

No point in even trying to warn people. I post articles and they tell me it is nonsense lol. I don't even want sweepstakes to die. I've enjoyed basically every sweeps site I've ever been on. I'm also not going to sit here and act like this isn't happening though. NY still views Gold to be dual currency sweepstakes, my guess is Cali will do the exact same. This isn't a doom post......just reality. We are all stuck in the crap together

Agree completely. One of the craziest things is some of the tribes that support the bill in California don't even have a poker room in their casinos lol. Poker is an afterthought to them and the bill. It's just getting clumped in with slots when California literally said poker was a game of skill. It's super frustrating.
