Hurts wasn't impressive last year either when asked to throw, especially in the playoffs. Saquon and the defense covered it up. Now Saquon isn't running well this year, so the deficiencies are becoming more obvious. Sirianni is also not a good coach, and Patullo is especially bad as a coordinator. Vic Fangio is the real MVP of this team.

Vic….and the 16000 1st Rd picks on his defence

Eagles gotta quit it with the ****ing penalties, too.

[QUOTE]The Broncos' defense has carried the load, but the numbers suggest it is not quite elite. Denver ranks sixth in defensive EPA per play at 0.07, half of Houston's league-leading figure. Of 160 defenses since 2021, the Broncos' ranks 30th (20 spots behind their 2024 unit), while the Texans' ranks second.

Denver's D is very good and has the ingredients to be elite but it's not. They have an elite pass rush and they are elite in red zone defense. What's keeping them from being elite is the lack of turnovers forced. They have only forced 10 turnovers and have not scored a defensive TD. Also, Denver's offense doesn't consistently sustain long drives so the defense is often back on the field without the appropriate rest. I do think there will be positive regression regarding turnovers going forward. the DB's have dropped a ton of potential Int's. Denver has a league leading 55 sacks. At some point they will start causing some strip sacks. Also, Riley Moss has been wearing boxing gloves in practice to keep from grabbing the defender. He leads the league in PI's but didn't have one last week.

Also, why isn't the above quoted part dark?

What needs to happen for Rivers to win Comeback of the Year (and is the betting market open on this?)

Eg…is a win this weekend enough?

I was curious about this the other day. My book already had him at +1800 behind only McCaffrey and Dak which I found quite funny.

It would be hard to resist picking him if he beat the Seahawks

If he gets the Colts into the playoffs he's definitely winning it

easy to imagine Felipe Rios has been ripping out practice routes to high school wide receivers outside mobile since he started coaching his herd of prodigies

also heard the colts are going to erect a statue of him (unknown if a guitar) immediately after the first snap dropping back

Heelz, what’s the status of your Playoff Woody after the Bucs loss?

Guessing somewhere beyond a semi at this point?

Sweet Carolina!

It’s rising. Win the next 2 and we’re in!

Rivers should maybe technically not be allowed to win comeback player. Though it does mention significant missed playing time not sure that's exactly what it would reference.

Are the Falcons truly eliminated?

What if both Panthers-Bucs games end in ties, and they both lose the rest of their remaining games and Falcons win out? 8-9 vs. 7-8-2 vs. 7-8-2.

Ties are counted as 1/2 loss and 1/2 win for purpose of tiebreakers, so in that scenario there would be still three 8-9 teams.

TJ posted this in the w15 game thread. So given the above tiebreaker calculation, plus the below, I think the Falcons are drawing dead. And I just checked the standings on ESPN. The Falcons are listed as eliminated.

Heard on a podcast: if TB/CAR split,

And otherwise lose out,

And the Falcons win out,

That creates a 3-way tie for the division at 8-9,

But the Falcons lose all tiebreakers. Oh well.

Wonder how much journalists bet on sports

Fun Facts for McLovin:

Since January 1, 2021 - the Giants have the worst record in the NFL
Since January 1, 2020 - the Jets have the worst record in the NFL

Keep going back a year to January 1st for worst record in the NFL

2019 - Giants
2018 - Jets
2017 - Giants
2016 - Jets
2015 - Jets
2014 - Jets
2013 - Jets

NFL should institute a 'Big Apple Bowl' played by the 2 worst teams. Oh wait they already do that on Thursdays.

How many times do I have to tell you guys that I’m a Lions fan!?

Wonder how much journalists bet on sports

Almost zero if not absolute zero. Hunter S Thompson started that myth.

Barnwell does or did. Dunno if the current Ringer guy does. Do you consider Simmons, House & Cousin Sal β€œjournalists”?

I wouldn't be shocked if he pulls a hammy in warm ups and never plays a down. Rivers coming back is absurd. This reminds me of a 50 year old boxer who comes out of retirement and gets knocked out in the first round. The Colts have zero chance to make the playoffs. This is nothing more than a publicity stunt.
