Las Vegas Fine Dining Thread
Hey,
So I'm compiling a list of places I need to go to, never been before but I have so far been told that we should hit
The food looks vvg.
I must say that Iβve never seen/heard of that kind of bread basket in my 40+ year Indian restaurant habit. Generally itβs either Naan or Paratha.
Must be an American thing ?

Itβs two different types of naan plus a piece of roti. Not sure if you can order each individually. Going back mid-January to investigate.
I went to Bouchon for brunch and it was very good. Got a bloody mary, pain au chocolate, steak pane, croque madame with truffle fries, and they gave us a chocolate dessert/lava cake since we were celebrating.
Stars of the meal were the bread, butter and jam, the breaded steak, and the sandwich. My partner liked the fries but I thought they were overly salty.
I was highly disappointed with the pain au chocolait. I would not recommend this pastry.

100% recommend.
Went to Bouchon twice on a recent trip. Have ordered almost everything on the menu at this point and never had a single issue. Perfect restaurant, no notes.
so in your past experiences the pomme frites were never overly salty?
I've never found the fries at Bouchon overly salty, and agree it's 10/10 and that the bread/butter/jam are heaven.
Incredible dinner at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, first time there. 80% of the full Robuchon experience for 50% of the price.
Old fashioned - 9.5/10 made with Whistle Pig 10 so the $28 is justified
Bread (unlimited free) - 9/10
Amuse bouche was some kind of foie gras Parmesan foam thing that was one of the best bites of the night. 11/10, free.
Hamachi - 10/10 on par with Toca’s. $43
Skirt steak - 10/10 perfectly cooked and th onions were great. $75
Burger - 9/10, fries 8/10, fry sauce 9/10. $38
Robuchon mashed potato - 10/10, free
L’Financier dessert - like the best bread pudding you’ve ever had. 10/10 $21
L’nanas dessert - 9/10 $23
L’Chocolat dessert - 9.5/10 $23
The pistachio macarons were also free and good but I’m just not a big fan of macarons in general, 6.5/10
Total before tip was $292 for two people so around $350 all in. When we went to Robuchon it was $400 each (also worth every penny).
Very highly recommend.

Thanks wj94 for all you've posted. I'm finally making it back to LV this summer (and according to my parents for next xmas/new years as well). The girlfriend is definitely getting the Delhi dalgona and we'll probably do dinner there as well.
I am a little surprised you haven't been to LβAtelier before.
Anyway, thanks for the pics and recommendations.

Thanks for the review. Havenβt been here since my honeymoon, and been to proper Robuchon once in between. Makes me think I may need to go back.
Only needed to comment if the bread cart at Robuchon only gets 9/10, does a 10/10 bread even exist?

This wasnβt the bread cart, that was 10/10. At LβAtelier they just give you these three and thereβs no other options.

Gymkhana is reservation only for the bar too so if youβre planning on a bar seat keep that in mind. Iβm going back in two weeks for more
Thanks for that. Ever since covid we've booked restaurants well out, so it won't be a problem if we eat there, but it would be if we just wanted to grab a drink. Thanks again!
Does anyone have good Italian fine dining recommendations nowadays?
Reviews seem to be so incredibly mixed on things like Carbone, Sinatra, etc.
Bookings should be fine for any place since trip is a while away plus have a host for anything Caesarβs or MGM
Coming soon with a vegetarian, normally at Italian places they can get a veg pomodorro pasta and Iβll get a parm 🤣 but vego options seem to be lacking at a lot of the upscale places Iβve seen

Esther's Kitchen (Arts District); Scarpetta (Cosmo); Mother Wolf (FB).
Matteo’s has a very average atmosphere but their homemade pasta might be the best.
We had dinner at Caramella a couple.of days after Christmas. Everything was delicious, particularly the Cavatelli Bolognese. Service was also excellent, without being too pretentious as many higher end places seem to be these days. We will definitely return.
On a side note, we also tried STK for the first time and were completely underwhelmed by everything except the prices. Thankfully it was all comped.
Went to Carbone on most recent trip for the first time and thought it was excellent. Got the classics since it was our first visit; beef carpaccio, Caesar salad, spicy rigatoni vodka, and Veal Parmesan. All of the food was top notch and it was honestly too much food for wife and I.
Only small thing was we essentially had two servers for some reason and they didnβt seem to communicate well. We were often getting asked the same question twice, or both servers brought the dessert cart to our table separately. Nothing negative about it, more just weird.
Also from recent trip, returned to Bazaar Meat, and happy to report its new location in Venetian/Palazzo is even better than the old Sahara location. You can tell itβs definitely geared towards trying to bring in more of the high roller crowd now too fwiw.
The thing Iβve always loved about Bazaar Meat is itβs an excellent place to go if you want a classic steakhouse experience with a massive hunk of steak as your main. Itβs also an amazing restaurant if you want to do a more fine dining type order with a ton of small dishes.
On this recent trip, wife and I dove into a bunch of the small dish items and ordered what is literally the cheapest main entree on the menu, the Eisenhower stew. Which btw, is still ****ing incredible.
Simple menu for the night starting with some Jamon, then Caviar Cone, A5 βPhilly cheesesteakβ, the classic tartare, Onion Soup, Eisenhower Stew with a side of potato puree (basically Robuchon potatoes), and some small desserts.
Another place Iβve visited several times now and have yet to ever have a bad bite. Canβt recommend this place highly enough.
Might have missed it, but has anyone been to Carbone Riviera at Bellagio? Really curious to check it out during my upcoming trip, especially for the seafood.

This is going to sound incredibly pretentious but I would have said the same thing about the bread cart bread until I had the bread at Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester in London. Now Robuchon bread cart is a 9.9/10 π

A friend went on one of my recent trips and reported back that it was solid, but he also didn't have to pay for his meal, which probably colored his judgment.
I've never been to any Carbone location myself -- seems to me that it is way overpriced/overrated, even by Vegas standards.

Thanks! Iβve only been to the one at Aria to try their famous veal parm. It was incredibly good but itβs probably not a place that I will go back to mainly because of the price.
Will probably check out the one at Bellagio for the seafood bit and we will see [emoji846]
