I do not know that it is law, perhaps it is, but many events have this. Basically any public event. It happened at the world series, and possibly every other ball game/sporting event. Canucks games too.

I am aware what land acknowledgments are. Do you think I am not aware what land acknowledgments are and I was taking issue with the fact that he said they are happening? He said “in many parts of Canada” they are “required by law”. Not just that they were happening.

Sure... for many people, especially in the short term, daily life can feel largely unchanged, particularly for those insulated by privilege. But that sense of stability doesn’t hold at the systemic level, and it certainly doesn’t apply evenly across all groups.

Classical music is inherently a global community; almost all of us routinely study abroad and perform internationally which correlates to more liberal worldviews. For as much as the industry is deeply committed to its traditions, we’ve been doing “woke” things like this since forever.
