2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
I actually work in tax. Currently in hell haha.
They’re correct. 1099 reporting is based on net payouts between 1/1 and 12/31 on the respective platform.
The threshold for 2025 was $600 net. The threshold moves up to $2,000 net for 2026.
Ah, sometimes it pays to lose.
Thanks heels!
Yup, and when you hit nice wins, you want to try to freeroll during the tax year. Like with your playoff best ball finish for 2026.
If your tax rate is 10%, for instance, then every buy in you fire on UD up to the amount of net winnings costs you the buy in minus projected tax. I.e. a $10 buy in’s real cost is $9.
Meanwhile, just saw this for Yahoo lol.
Yep, they've been talking about that in the RotoGrinders discord for a while now. Which is what made me reach out to DK and UD.
Got ya. When I got top 10 in Puppy for $8k a few years ago, it paid out in early January and my final 1099 was around $6k after all net activity that year.
Poor Sam got ****ed by receiving BBM in Dec instead of Jan haha.
All your top exposures have blown out their leg at some point hahah.
Good luck with the move! That’ll be quite the transition from Chicago.
Haha thanks yeah I have a some family and a couple friends out there. I mostly just can’t take the cold anymore
Yeah I’m taking the Davis Mattek approach of injuries aren’t real anymore (it’s always a good idea to do what Davis is doing lmao)

I donβt blame you. The Carolinas are cold enough for me. My wife is from Michigan. I told her I can never live there because of the cold.
Davis will be right one of these years lol.
Born and raised in FL. Tried living in Denver. Made it 2 years and said, "Nope, that's enough of that."
I do love the snow though in small doses. My dream if I had the money would be to buy a nice cabin in a small mountain town in CO or UT. Rent it out the majority of the year, and just stay there around Christmas for a month or two at the most.

It seems easier/better to be the renter in this situation, but this is coming from a guy who if I hit the lottery I still wouldn't own a second home.
Still on a break from best ball but made a dynasty trade in my 14x11 sf 2x tep league with a bunch of other dumb rules
I got confirmation that Mendoza was going 1.02 (same guy who has 1.02 now has 1.03 as well) so was 100% going to be rookie wr for me at 1.03
My thinking was basically Burden is going a rd or so higher in best ball so 1 for 1 he’s pretty close if not slightly better than the wr at 1.03 (assuming combine/draft position/team push up the rookies) and then I’m getting a shot at another player at 2.02, which given how deep a 14x11 is and how shallow my depth is I felt like it was worth the gamble…
Obviously if burden becomes dontayvion wicks instead of arsb I will lose pretty badly haha
I think I’d rather have the reroll on a top 10-15 pick in whatever spot. 2.02 could be pretty bad in this class. But I get it.
Meanwhile, this is exactly why I’ve been out. I should probably get more CD and Ferg.
I think 10wr was the right call with the 4 RBs you have
Walker at that price is crazy
Time to start drafting some more Mike Washington, I guess.
I guess so. Probably just bigger Bhayshul Tuten.
Is there something new happening at this combine… way too many guys at #1 or #2 all time RAS at their positions
It’s pretty wild, especially given how anti-hyped this class was
2026 Combine RAS (rank since 1987)
