2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
I think the challenge is the liquidity of Maye, unless he becomes Josh, you are basically buying a lock to be a depreciating asset in my opinion, whereas if you buy Chase you have a fairly liquid asset that should be in the same draft / asset return range for a few years
It’s possible. But unless you think Maye negatively regresses hard from last year, which I think will be tough to do outside of injury given the weak schedule and lack of weapons not requiring massive production from him, then I don’t see him falling out of the early to mid first round for a long time.
He was QB 2 overall, QB 2 by average, scored 350 points and only scored 30 less than Allen if you remove week 18.
I think Maye is going to have a great career floor with tons of top 5-10 weeks and seasons. My concern and the valid argument against him being 1.01 is his ultimate weekly ceiling and ability to separate in any given season. But he’s also only 23 years old with an amazing skillset. This isn’t a post-rookie year Stroud situation.
Chase is great, but we’ve also seen a terrible downside when Burrow is injured. He’s also not getting any younger.
I also think player liquidity is overrated and it’s not generally how I play dynasty, so that makes me biased too. If I have Maye, I’m happy to roll his career. Even Josh is a tough trade right now.
You might be right, idk why I’m so pessimistic on him haha
Pretty happy with my start
Traded out of 27 1st and 3.04, but moved up to 1.11 and upgraded a 10th to an 8th
So far have Lamar, Jeanty, ARSB, which seems like a good 12tm core
TY Hilton retirement news… 2 thoughts
1. I thought it said Tyreek Hill and got so scared
2. I thought he retired like 5 yrs ago haha
Lol I saw that too and had to read it again to make sure I saw TY Hilton. Last time he played was 3 games in 2022. That's a blast from the past.
A solid first 4 seasons then he just fell off of a cliff. His injuries didn't help.
Watching the Davis/Jakob/Pat dynasty show and I hate that I’m on Davis’s side of the Maye dynasty debate. That’s almost enough to make me change my opinion entirely haha
Fading Davis in fantasy is like fading Jim Cramer for investing lol.
I’ll have to check out the stream.
Nice trade by the Broncos to get Waddle. I would think Nix is at minimum top five now. It’s crazy there are idiots who think the Broncos got fleeced. Denver gave up the 30th pick in a terrible draft. They did give up a late third(big whoop). They did significantly upgrade their fourth round pick. Both teams did what they had to do. The only thing Miami fans have to root for over the next ten years is the possibility of finishing third instead of fourth in the division. Meanwhile Denver should own the AFC West for a long time although the Chargers will put up a fight.
Trade was completely fine. Nix is not t5 even with the trade
The t6 is what
Allen
Lamar
Jayden
Maye
Burrow
Hurts
Nix is not better at qb than any of the QBs in that group. I like Nix at adp and I definitely think the trade made him better but t5 is pretty wild
Also are you mongidig
Seems likely, especially since his narcissism chose the name Elway. I’m surprised it took him 3 weeks to stop by.
Waddle is a good, not great WR. The trade made sense for both sides.
We doesn’t love a good 4th round upgrade?!
Definitely monger lol
Waddle's great. Enjoy the 70% of the time he's actually on the field if you're lucky.
lol might be even worse in that altitude.
Theres always been something about Waddle that I’ve never been fully impressed with. Maybe it’s the durability. Or the fact the Dolphins took him top 10 and still went and got Reek. And obviously Reek was Reek. Maybe it’s the inconsistency. I dunno. I just always feel like I want more when I watch him. Like he’s clearly good, but he should be better.
He gives me DJM vibes. Good but not great and never felt like he reached his full potential. Neither is a real #1.
We’ll see what he looks like with the Broncos.
It's definitely possible he balls out with a better QB, but it's a matter of health and how much Payton uses him.
Also Denver has a ton of mouthes to feed in that offense.
This is why I have trouble drafting this guy. It’s so frustrating. He’s basically worthless if CD and Pickens are playing. But if one, or worst case, both are out, his contingent value is insane. I just hate drafting TE on contingent value.
Jayden at 77 in this economy?
First 5 picks of my startup
Got sniped on cmc so went Bucky, have 2 picks in rd6 to get qb/wr. AJB pick was between him and Hendo after all the good RBs went, I just couldn’t get myself to take hendo idk why im low on him
Idk why but I really don’t like this team, even though on paper it’s completely solid/good
Yeah, it's a fragile team.
Uncertainty with Lamar's future upside as he ages.
Bucky could be great or not, but I think I still prefer taking the shot on the rest of his career over CMC, even if CMC has another good season or 2 in him.
AJB is aging and showing some concerning signs, plus who knows if he's on the Eagles or if not, where? Hendo doesn't feel great either, but I'd probably take a shot on him over AJB. The usage and some of the rushing metrics were concerning. But also, he was a highly drafted RB who had 1,100 total yards as a rookie 1B.
ARSB will be 27 in October, which is fine. But you also wonder how many more elite years he could have in him.
I like Jeanty haha.
Gonna need a te, probably Juwan/Kittle/Kelce types and a qb3
Playing w more sharp ppl makes it harder to get the values. I thought I could push players a couple times but the runs killed me
Either way, looks like I’m gonna need to win very quickly or rebuild bc my team is full of olds… wishing I went burden/trevyon over ajb though
12x10 sf 1.5 tep w roster cut downs
